The Giro league code still works.

I am looking forward to it!

League Name: Mumsnet Marauders
League Code: 159285217

I'm plummeting through the peloton and am now only just above the lanterne rouge Shock

My risky decision to not include Pog is not paying off Sad

Vingegaard is not far behind though (although the loss of Seb Kuss is telling Sad). Roglic (and his team) needs to up his game. Hmm

I'm not giving up hope throwing in the towel yet though Grin

My sprinter choice was pure heart over head though with Cav (and Mørkøv to support him) so while I'm hoping for at least one set of results from him (which is all he needs Wink), I'm not expecting them to contribute much overall.

Pan2 · 03/07/2024 10:14

With my velogames choice to avoid Vinny and TP I'm not too mithered about the game. So it's just nice to see the scenery and admire the bike riding.
Yesterday's descent was very scary.

MrsAvocet · 03/07/2024 16:53

Ohhhh.....AMAZING!
5 stages in and this is looking like one of the best Tours ever!

Pan2 · 03/07/2024 16:54

Wasn't it?
I have Philipsen but I don't mind.Smile

Beninthesortingoffice · 03/07/2024 17:30

Whoop Whoop! Sat on a train reading the guardian live feed and have the biggest smile on my face.

prettybird · 03/07/2024 17:47

I was being pessimistic and predicted to dh but that he wouldn't win - but only because I wanted him to win! ConfusedShockGrin

sweetnessandlighter · 03/07/2024 17:47

Cav 💛

prettybird · 03/07/2024 17:47

(Errant "but" in there but on app so can't edit Wink)

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/07/2024 17:53

Thank you for the reminder of the league code, @Beninthesortingoffice! I’m in.

Today’s stage was amazing - hurrah for Sir Mark.

prettybird · 03/07/2024 19:07

Despite having today's winner in my team, I've still continued my downward trajectory and now am carrying the lanterne rouge Confused

PotOfTulips · 03/07/2024 19:39

Woo hoo Cav!!

Plasmodesmata · 03/07/2024 21:04

I knew he'd do it.

lostinwales · 03/07/2024 22:57

CAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVV!!!!!!!!!
🚲😁🚲

<waves> Hullooo all, sorry I missed the games, have been on a tour of Europe (sans bike though) and without internet quite a lot. Actually be nice not to loose for once or curse anyone with my choices for a change.

MrsAvocet · 03/07/2024 23:36

I'm really glad that Cav didn't get through the crash and win stage 3 now. If he had done his detractors would forever have been saying he was lucky, only won because MvDP punctured so couldn't contribute or because others got held up behind the crash. But today was perfect and a fine way to seal the record. It was classic Cav, proper old school wheel surfing Manx Missile stuff and no crashes or other controversies for people to pick at. Well, Pedersen went down of course but he was a good way behind anyway. Incidentally, does anyone know who did that amazing bunny hop?I didn't recognise him but was super impressed with his reactions and bike handling.
Question now of course is will Cav settle for 35 or go all out for at least one more ?

prettybird · 03/07/2024 23:49

Mark Renshaw was interviewed afterwards and said that they weren't really (or rather he Renshaw wasn't really) aiming at today's stage Shock - that tomorrow's stage was more suited to Cav. Shock

Wouldn't it be something if he could do the double? Grin

I'm going to adopt today's approach and say I don't think he can do it Wink and hope that brings him luck again Halo

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/07/2024 11:56

I'm sure Cav will aim for at least one more, @MrsAvocet - he's never rested on his laurels in the past. One more, on the Champs Elysee would have been perfect, so it's sad they won't be finishing there this year.

Beninthesortingoffice · 05/07/2024 08:41

@MrsAvocet Looking up online the reports say Alex Zingle for the bunny hop. It's amazing.

TT today

OP posts:
prettybird · 05/07/2024 09:05

Apparently Axel Zingle has a background in cyclocross Grin. Just as well for both him and Pedersen otherwise both of them could have been more seriously injured. Shock

prettybird · 06/07/2024 09:30

Roglic finally delivering more points for me Smile

Interesting post-race interview with Vingegaard, saying he was pleased that he didn't lose more time Confused as the TT stage was more suited to the others.

I'm hoping that he's riding back into form but at the moment it looks like it's going to the Pog Show!

lljkk · 06/07/2024 09:32

yeah, that bunny hop got my attention as much as Cav's win!
Must try to actually watch the stage highlights tonight.

MikeRafone · 07/07/2024 16:09

@prettybird

Jake Stewart is riding this year, his first TdF

do you have him in your team? do you remember watching him race?

MikeRafone · 07/07/2024 16:10

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

no finish in Paris this year, the race finishes in Nice due to the olympics

MikeRafone · 07/07/2024 16:11

sorry didn't notice you already knew that

prettybird · 07/07/2024 16:56

I remember watching him race @MikeRafone but I'm ashamed to say I didn't notice his name when I was selecting my team to put him in Blush
