Yesterday's finish was awesome. MVdP looked like he was completely out of contention until the fast few hundred metres - the commentators had definitely written him off anyway.Amazing.
I feel sorry for Caleb (even though I didn't pick him) but I don't think he would have won from where he was with MVdP coming up so fast on the outside. He would almost definitely have podiumed though and it must be absolutely gutting to come away with nothing after such as massive effort. That's bike racing for you though.

My daughter has just told me that their teacher is taking them out of class to see the giro go by - which is news to me as I never even knew it was coming our way!

DH & I are discussing strategy for me choosing TDF velo games team riders. All based on a scoring system for funny names. Totally parochial English & Spanish speaking prejudiced. So, 1 point for each feature:

) Letter(s) not in English/Spanish alphabet
) Funny words in English/Spanish, spelling or as pronounced (Taco, Harm)
) "Obviously" Too many or too few vowels
) > 7 syllables
) Boys with girl's names (unless Spanish language)

We had at least 7 rules the other day but I'm only up to 5 rules there. Any other ideas?

Names with rude connotations? This could take some imagination......

I don't think anyone has given up and gone home yet although work has been getting in the way of watching too much so far. I had a day I could have watched on Monday and they were travelling instead!

Am I the first to have the dubious honour of losing a rider? I've just seen that Mørkøv is ill. The headline on Cycling News was about it being a blow to Cav's chances....not great for mine either!😪
