Team number 11 added to league. Might need a bit more tweaking before tomorrow Bike

MrPan · 23/08/2019 15:30

Team Time Trial start.

When everyone is competition rusty, new team mates, not everyone available for a TTT recky of the course.

Slapstick riding. But stay upright lads.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 24/08/2019 06:38

Ah it seems the curse of being on my team has taken down Carapaz before the friggin vuelta has even started! This is a sure sign of things to come.

FelicityLemon · 24/08/2019 08:01

I have now re-jigged the team in the absence of Carapaz, he freed up some points so I now have Chaves and Soler and it appears half of Euskadi Murias, I'm hoping they are motivated for their home race as it goes through the Basque Country for 3 stages.
Primož Roglič Team Jumbo-Visma 24
Miguel Angel López Astana Pro Team 20
Esteban Chaves Mitchelton-Scott 12
Óscar Rodríguez Euskadi - Murias 6
Sam Bennett BORA - hansgrohe 14
Mikel Bizkarra Euskadi - Murias 6
Mikel Iturria Euskadi - Murias 4
Sander Armée Lotto Soudal 4
Marc Soler Movistar Team 10

Can I not get anything right?

Although to be honest anything could have happened today and I'd be clueless, 7 hours driving, so tired, no Vuelta in my car!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/08/2019 22:10

I'm still waiting for the highlights. Meant to start at 10 but still darts. What are ITV4 playing at? (except darts, obvs).

MrSlant · 24/08/2019 22:18

I went to bed at nine for an early night then accidentally clicked on MN because I haven't had very good WiFi for a week. Oops, lots of catching up to do.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/08/2019 22:33

Gave up on ITV. Just looked on velogames. Now going to bed.

Leftiefterson · 24/08/2019 22:39

I’m here for La Vuelta. Today was pretty exciting to see the opening stage. We’re skipping Benidorm and are heading to Alicante instead. I’m so excited.

MrSlant · 25/08/2019 15:10

How exciting Leftie, how hot is it over there?

MrPan · 26/08/2019 15:46

Looks a bit muggy??

YOYOY is Sean Yates retained as a commentator?? His contribtion is simply to state the bleeding obvious and recap what has just been said.
Has got something on someone?

MrSlant · 26/08/2019 17:33

I'm just laughing at the other presenter trying to get him to join in, 'you went on a wild boar hunt didn't you Sean?"

..............................................................................................................................................................................'did I?'.

It's sparkling wit at it's finest.

Almost as funny as the weird bit on the podium where they make the winner drink from a bottle then ostentatiously place it in the giant recycling bin that just happens to be casually waiting around on the stage. That's going to have me chuckling all week.

Leftiefterson · 26/08/2019 23:58

Sorry for the delay @MrSlant - it was 31 degrees on Saturday so it was pretty hot for the riders. Great atmosphere.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 27/08/2019 19:09

The curse of being on my team strikes again! Oh well, I was doing everyone a favour anyway. Someone's gotta be at the bottom of the league!

FelicityLemon · 28/08/2019 08:35

I am back from my horror marathon and caught up with the results. The run in to the rest day is looking tasty. I will draw a discreet veil over the performance some of my team.

FelicityLemon · 29/08/2019 06:52

Well finally in 4 figures. What a great win yesterday so happy for him, I was on the edge of my seat watching him fade and recover. (Mumsnet really needs a spoiler tag)

OP posts:
FelicityLemon · 29/08/2019 14:03

Nooo! Big crash at the Vuelta 4 major abandons. Sad

OP posts:
MrSlant · 29/08/2019 21:15

DS1 came in for the highlights and just said "I don't want to say anything about Velogames but..." then gave me such a pitying look. He has suggested I properly pack it in now before someone else gets hurt.

FelicityLemon · 30/08/2019 06:28

@MrSlant do you by any chance live in ... ooh I don't know ... Pendle maybe? With a black cat or some other familiar pet? Wink

OP posts:
prettybird · 30/08/2019 08:25

I forgot to enter a team - but from the wee bit of the Vuelta I've watched, I'd have done really really badly! ShockBike

FelicityLemon · 30/08/2019 15:14

Bad news for Rigoberto Uran he's in intensive care with a punctured lung.

I think I'm glad that ds chose rugby over cycling Shock

The cycling parents could never understand that I watched cycling events with my heart in my mouth far more than I ever watched a rugby game. Confused

I hope Uran makes a full recovery.

MrSlant · 30/08/2019 23:27

Oh jeeze Rigoberto I'm sorry.

pretty bird I'm with you on that one and considering the damage we've had as a family from rugby that's saying something! Looking back at Froome from earlier this year I do think more will come out about how he was lucky to survive, 4 pints of blood loss is a LOT when you weigh as little as he does.

Considering I've witched away broken two of my team already I'm still on more points than I think I made overall for the Giro. Still time to tank it in the next two weeks though.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/08/2019 23:32

Apparently Froome was back out on his bike today! Shock

iNeverFinishAnyth · 31/08/2019 21:23

Just back from holiday, checked Velogames, wish I'd stayed away!! There have been so many abandons. Glad Valverde got a stage win though, while in his last month in the rainbow jersey.
