Don't really have anything to say about it yet, but just wanted to share this photo!

I'd heard that too. Hopefully they will make up before October as they are supposed to be a pairing for the London Six Day. Have to say I struggle to really care about anything Brad does, I can't find anything likeable about him.
Reading between the lines, he doesn't come across as a people person.

FelicityLemon · 13/08/2016 18:09

Rioja, always go with Rioja, it's my second favourite wine at the moment after Malbec.

Felicity thanks again for that list of track events, I was referring to it constantly to check what to watch.

FelicityLemon · 17/08/2016 19:36

Bonsoir!!! . I've missed you all so much, couldn't log in to MN in France for some reason, FWIW I called the result of the TT (so chuffed for my beloved) and sobbed a little watching Cav get silver and in solidarity with Laura watching her beloved get his third gold of the games. What on earth was going on in the kierin? My French is not up to that level of fast talking about cycling.

In a total 'this will out me if you know me on FB' I cycled round the Îlé de Ré for hours and hours yesterday with my boys, what a fantastic place for cycling, mostly flat, cris-crossed with cycle tracks and motorists have loads of respect for bikes. Was such a fantastic day.

DramaAlpaca · 18/08/2016 23:04

Mwah, mwah, MrS Smile

I thought of you when your beloved won the TT. I was hoping you'd seen it. I was so, so happy for him & I must admit I had a little sob. What an end to a career.

MrSlant · 18/08/2016 23:16

I've ended up with some shockingly tired children staying up with the time difference thrown in but some things you can't miss. What an Olympics! Felt for the guy (Spanish?) in the 1st place seat for the TT as he saw his medal chances fade but what a brilliant trio to lose to.

I was rubbish watching Cav in the omnium, when he crashed into that rider and took Viviani out too I've never tidied a holiday villa kitchen so thoroughly (we were moving on the next day) got a very grubby pan clean by anger at foolish mistakes alone! also had to delay moving on to next stop the following morning after celebrating with some wine Grin.

What's your best bit so far?

Also what time is it really? I accidentally killed my phone and I don't think my ancient iPad auto updates.

DramaAlpaca · 18/08/2016 23:28

The time is currently 23:28.

I'll give some thought to which have been the best bits so far - too many to mention, probably!

MrSlant · 18/08/2016 23:37

Damn, my iPad did catch up, better go to sleep then, was hoping I had an hour to spare! Thanks for the heads up, just think Vuelat soon!

WheelofPan · 19/08/2016 16:35

Hi MrSlant!!

Sounds a great great time! And of course to Spartacus. Canny ride from the boy and he loved it!

Cav's 'crash'..hmm..wasn't an accident was it? He looks around twice, sees where he and everyone else is, cuts off the rider and doesn't flinch after the contact. No idea what was going through his tiny head at the time.

More understandable was the crash in Harrogate in TdF, but even then it was a bit of petulant child thing...imho..

MrSlant · 19/08/2016 21:04

Do you think? I didn't think he'd get a medal because he's too impulsive, look at that 'cote d'azure' business in, umm, was it the scratch race . Anyway, he got a medal, I bloody hope that wasn't deliberate, I said to my sons if that had been them I'd be on the side of the track going 'you get down here right now and apologise to that poor boy, home time now, you don't deserve a medal after causing a crash'. I got some odd looks but I think the boys are used to me by now.

In other news after carting me 2,000 miles round France without a moment of trouble and some great accelerations I have decided to christen my car Spartacus in honour of the gold medalist.

Vuelta tomorrow then, better get my team sorted!

WheelofPan · 19/08/2016 21:13

It was the elimination section where Cav went under a rider for fear of elimination...and yes the impulsivity even under the eyes of the ref stood on the line watching it....and yes you should have been screaming those things at Cav! Grin

MrSlant · 19/08/2016 21:33

I was, scrubbing the kitchen and grumbling at him under my breath Grin.

Do we have a Vuelta thread? Are we still congregating here so we can watch Sagan in the olympics? I'm really looking forward to that, got some solid days of bike watching planned after all the driving.
