Plimsolls - Devon. Mine were white and lace up and my dad used to put some white paint stuff on them seemingly every week. No idea how I got my feet in them. They must have been stiff as a board

Now live in s Wales where they are daps. And cost £2 in Asda Grin

Grew up in Yorkshire where we called them sandshoes but my Welsh mother always called them daps. Now my posh southern children call them plimsolls despite my best efforts.
