I would go and see Wicked because it is absolutely fantastic

Wicked website

It's the untold story of the witches of Oz - fab.

Novicecamper · 04/03/2008 13:39

Just to add, I've seen it twice and I would go again like a shot. I detest musicals generally.

WaynettaSlob · 04/03/2008 13:39

Of those I have only seen Chicago and thought it was crap.
Would like to see Lion King.

If you fancy a play in stead Mousetrap is fantastic

dizzydixies · 04/03/2008 13:42

spamalot? I took dh to see it and although he hates all things musical/theatre we both nearly hurt ourselves laughing - we would both go again and again if we didn't live in northern scotland lol

DD very like the film if she liked that

VictorianSqualor · 04/03/2008 13:46

Mary Poppins.

VictorianSqualor · 04/03/2008 13:46

But I'd probably see Grease or Dirty Dancing if I was to choose any.

nailpolish · 04/03/2008 13:48

Novicecamper · 04/03/2008 13:53

And if you watch the Wicked trailer - the green witch is played by Idina Menzel on there but it's now Kerry Ellis and she is 100X better.

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 13:53

Billy Elliot or Grease for me. Dirty Dancing ok, but all the rest are rubbish.

nailpolish · 04/03/2008 13:54

omg

how did you know that

now I MIGHT go and see EVita. depends whos in it. but i thought that about les mis and when we went to the bar at half time i didnt go back at the bell (im dead sophisticated, me)

nappyaddict · 04/03/2008 13:55

right so

billy elliot
dirty dancing
mary poppins
evita

are the short list so far.

francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2008 13:55

sorry, the idea of sitting through a musical just throws me into deepest panic. I'd probably choose saturday night fever, if I had to

nappyaddict · 04/03/2008 13:56

would you see this spamalot or wicked one that's been mentioned? i've never heard of them before.

OP posts:
Novicecamper · 04/03/2008 13:58

Wicked!

Have you seen the Wizard of Oz? It's the story of Glinda the good witch and the wicked witch of the west - I'm telling you, it's bloody brilliant.

Kerry Ellis just won an award for best takeover in a role (for when she took over from, and wiped the floor with, Idina Menzel).

Novicecamper · 04/03/2008 13:58

My friends went to see Les Mis and walked out too Nailey - they said it was utter crap.

nailpolish · 04/03/2008 13:58

nope

i dont like monty python much (does your sister?) and i watched the wicked trailer linked below - it just seems the usual musical churn-out to me

wha is your sister saying?

dizzydixies · 04/03/2008 13:59

spamalot is the one based on monty python so if she likes that kind of humour then she'll like it, if she doesn't I wouldn't botherits currently got charlie from eastenders and the bloke that played tristram (sp!?) in all creatures great and small in it

haven't heard of wicked sorry

ProfessorGrammaticus · 04/03/2008 13:59

Sorry. Don't think I could manage any of them! Maybe Billy Elliott. Definitely not Chicago. Isn't the point what your mum wants to see though?

nailpolish · 04/03/2008 14:00

what about the ballet? not that i do like. or opera - a nice light one. if your sister is unsure i bet shed be surprised. does you r mum like those things too?

nailpolish · 04/03/2008 14:01

NOW that i do like (should have been)
