And Sonic Youth are bloody brillaint live - have seen them a few times!

janeiteofthelivingdead · 06/10/2007 16:26

Brillaint?

becklespookle · 06/10/2007 16:26

Princessafterlife - I saw the New Kids when I was 13 and they were great!

I would love to see:

Roxette
Phil Collins (don't think he tours anymore )
Spandau Ballet.

I saw Nirvana live at the Reading Festival in 1992, it think. A fabulous, sadly never to be repeated experience.

Yep SY def still going went to see them perform Daydrem Nation in Aug fan - bloody - tastic...

aDad · 06/10/2007 16:33

Pink Floyd (ideally with Syd Barrett if someone can arrange that!)

Was going to go but missed the chance and despite all the rumours over the years they never managed to put their differences aside.

PrincessAfterLife · 06/10/2007 21:01

oh, Roxette - good one, beckle! Which 'New Kid' did you fancy? And can you actually remember their names? Joey/Joe (?) was my baby.

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 21:10

Ah Bigmouthstrikesagain, Nick Drake would have been top of my list but I was thinking of bands rather than singer/songwriters. Actually, Jeff Buckley would have been up there too.
Oh and I agree about Sonic Youth being fab live, plus I've always had a bit of a crush on Thurston Moore - and Kim Gordon, come to mention it!.
So many great bands mentioned on here, with a few exceptions (IMHO !)

Whizzz · 07/10/2007 14:35

becklespookle - I saw Phil Collins with Genesis earlier this year - they were very good, if a little old with a definate 'dad' audience

My 3 would be
Queen
Prince & the Revolution (with Wendy & Lisa & co)
&
Take That with Robbie

pinkpip100 · 07/10/2007 14:37

If I'm allowed another 3...
Ride
Dinosaur Jnr
Primal Scream ('Loaded' era before they really rocked out!))

Jessicatmagnificat · 07/10/2007 14:41

Lloyd Cole and the Commotions
The Housemartins
Wham (that is a bit of a sad admission, I admit)

policywonk · 07/10/2007 15:07

I thought Dinosaur Jr had reformed?

littlerach · 07/10/2007 15:14

Nirvana

Stone Roses

The Doors

But could choose more if I coyld.

screaminghousewife · 07/10/2007 16:34

Ha ha, Pinkpip, I own a Field Mice album, next you'll be telling me you liked the Dentists.
Dinosaur jr have reformed, think they are releasing a new album. Saw them back when they released Bug. Wild and quite wonderful.

janeiteofthelivingdead · 07/10/2007 20:15

Oh I really liked Ride PinkPip 100! Saw them at a festival years and years ago but had to leave before the end of their set to catch the last train home - grrr.

mrsmerton · 07/10/2007 20:20

Wham (I saw George at Wembley and cried during Last Christmas)

The Smiths

Adam and The ants (before Adam went funny)

SqueakyBroomstickBrushes · 07/10/2007 21:02

The Stone Roses

Nirvana

Rage against the Machine

bluefox · 07/10/2007 21:08

Pink Floyd
Cream
Led Zep - really wanted tickets for o2

pinkpip100 · 07/10/2007 21:23

Wow, Dinosaur Jnr have reformed? That shows how out of touch I am these days!

Screaminghousewife, I have't heard of the Dentists but just googled them and saw that they once supported Shonen Knife, who I did used to like!

Janeiteoftheliving dead - Ride were fab, I saw them live quite a few times, and Mark Gardner was a major indie heartthrob, in a shoegazerish way .

My DH thinks I'm sad cos I've got these boxes full of records - mainly indie stuff from the 1990's - that I can't listen to as we don't have a record player, but I couldn't bear to get rid of .

boolepew · 07/10/2007 21:31

Abba
Doors
Led Zep -no tickets for me
Saw the Stone Roses and they were woeful, saw Prince and the Revolution and they were brilliant, saw Nirvana and had backstage passes, and Kurt O.D'ed

LyraSilvertongue · 07/10/2007 21:37

Ok, I'm having another 3.

Faith No More
Jane's Addiction (they reformed and made a new album but I think they've since split. Haven't they?)
Adam and the Ants. Adam was my first pin-up aged about 10.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/10/2007 21:38

So sad about poor Kurt, boolepew.
