The Village - and I was pg & uncomfy as hell all the way through.

DH watched Lost in Translation on telly t'other night & said it was brilliant even though nothing much happened & will be looking out for it coming on again so I can watch it too

flowerybeanbag · 01/08/2007 09:55

Matrix as well, def came out thinking there's a couple of hours I won't see again

flowerybeanbag · 01/08/2007 09:56

Oh and Waterworld as well.
Liked Lost in Translation though...

OhNo40 · 01/08/2007 09:58

Mufti - thanks, that was it. Got it as a freebie so decided it might be worth a go. It wasn't.

peanutbear · 01/08/2007 10:00

This is going to show my complete ignorance but

I fell asleep through every Lord of the Rings

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 01/08/2007 10:00

blame it on the bellboy-should have been called blame it on the scriptwriter.

there was another one out years ago that i went to see on a date. it was such utter trash and the bloke loved it. it was then i realised that there was no future whatsoever and i told him that night that i didn't want to see him again.

freejack?? is that what it was called?!!!!!!

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 01/08/2007 10:01

oh lord of the rings!!!
we went to see that on our first night out in months. we had organised a babysitter and everything. ended up seeing that shit . i came home and cried and didn't speak to dh for 24 hours!!

Evita - would rather stick a pencil in my eye than sit throught that shite ever again

edam · 01/08/2007 10:05

AI - utter, utter, self-indulgent (for the director) rubbish. And hugely long - seemed to take days off my life.

Baron Munchausen - ditto but thankfully not as long.

Leati · 01/08/2007 10:07

Everybody loves this movie but me

I hated DOGMA...

Katy44 · 01/08/2007 10:09

the village was so bad...good idea but badly done
Leati why? I can hardly remember it, saying that but i thought it was good at the time

lillypie · 01/08/2007 10:10

The Forgotten,it was two hours of hell and I had to stay awake because it was my first date with Surf Boy (DP) and I was trying to make a good impression.

Leati · 01/08/2007 10:13

Katy44,

Storyline was all over the place and it was gory...yuck

puppydavies · 01/08/2007 10:14

heh, lost in translation was very much "so what exactly was the point of that?" prob cos i'm not a middle aged man.

the big blue - watched on recommendation of respected friend - oh how my opinion of her sank. was at least 3 hours too long.

holy smoke is without a shadow of a doubt the worst though. i think you feel most cheated when a film is vaguely promising, so you're tempted to stay with it, rather than switch off after 20 mins. much as i would like to like kate winslett she's a sure fire turkey magnet.

Quattrocento · 01/08/2007 10:14

Spiderman 3 (Why?)

Ditzymumofone · 01/08/2007 10:15

Lord of the Rings - keep trying to watch them all, but it has such a soporific effect!

Peachy · 01/08/2007 10:15

I'm great at reviewing films, if I alst beyond 2 minutes and am still awakew it must be good (seriously- slept through the release of pulp fiction at the cinema LOL). Rush Hour- that was PANTS (can't beleive they're making a thrid), was the first film DH took me to see, got many apologies after LOL

Anything involving road trips and / or 'high school shennanigans'

ANything with terminator or such in the title

saltireslytherin · 01/08/2007 10:15

Mission Impossible 1 and 2.
Vanilla Sky
War of the Worlds

moondog · 01/08/2007 10:17

Forrest Gump
Pile of wankery

puppydavies · 01/08/2007 10:17

also to add film of the beach not only cos it decimated an ecosystem but cos the book is really good and the film is so very very not.

Katy44 · 01/08/2007 10:17

I probably watched it as a teenager - not keen on gore now

Peachy · 01/08/2007 10:17

Ah but I like The Matrix, agree about the wedding planner (also my best freiends wedding), completely agree with AI- what utter shite

puppydavies · 01/08/2007 10:18

lol catissleepy have also fallen asleep at least once watching laconfidential

Leati · 01/08/2007 10:20

Somebody doesn't like Tom Cruise!!!

He is a bit strange and all but I like most of his movies...
