"The seeds had been sown, as had the hem of her dress."

  • that doesn't work as the past participle of "to sew" is "sewn" not "sown."

scone Plenty of people do post chocolate to Australia and manage to get it through customs, but dairy products aren't allowed, including chocolate so if customs manage to spot chocolate in a parcel, they will open and destroy it

All rainbows are double, and completely round. The colours are inverted (the red edge is the inside so from top to bottom it goes VIBGYOR ROYGBIV).

We just only see a bit of it at a time.

Carrots were originally white. Then the Dutch wanted to improve them and as well as breeding them to be bigger and tastier they also decided they wanted carrots to be orange, (their national colour) so breed them to be orange.
That's why carrots are orange.

Some people don't like use of 'u' and see it as a relatively new shortening, as a result of texting.

The first time it was used to mean 'you' was by Shakespeare.

We had a black queen charlotte, (or regency queen) she founded kew gardens and was a feminist who believed in educating girls more then was the norm at the time. She did some pretty amazing but now not talked about stuff. She's more well known about in America where there's statues and towns named after her then England.

i'm sure I heard somewhere that the distaance between your nipples is the same as the distance between the tip of your thumb and little finger when your hand is splayed (not sure how boobage factors into that equation though). Also the distance between your wrist and your elbow, on your inner arm, is the exact length of your foot.

Hippophobia is not, as I once thought, a fear of Hippos, but is a fear of horses.
