Mary Badham who plays Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird with Gregory Peck is the sister of John Badham who directed Saturday Night Fever.

To Rooble: I love that. Another reason for them not to become the Hull Tigers.

Caffeine is the natural insecticide of the coffee plant. Arabica beans are grown at higher altitude than the inferior Robusta beans. This is why instant coffee has more caffeine than posh espresso as there are fewer insects at the higher altitude.

Talking of Gary Oldman, he's actually a good few days younger than Gary Numan.

Birds can't taste chilli - they don't have receptors for capsaicin - so if you have a problem with squirrels eating the food you leave out for the birds you can put chilli on it.

Oh wait, that's not totally useless.

Apparently if Finding Nemo was real...then, after Nemo's mum and brothers/sisters died, the dad would have developed female parts. And bred with Nemo.

Hmm

The original version of Red Riding Hood involves the Wolf and RRH eating the grandmother.

One of Sardinia's famous delicacies is called casu marzu, or maggot cheese. It's a kind of pecorino into which fly larvae have been introduced. The cheese passes through stages of fermentation to decomposition. Larveal digestive action breaks down the fats, the texture then softens and, liquifies in parts. The worms can jump up to 15cm in the air and eye protection is sometimes worn and you eat the cheese coloured and filled maggots too.

the flamingo one on page one is a myth. Widely believed, but now discredited. They don't need to eat pink fish/prawns to stay pink. But they can loose their colour.

Flamingos are pink, orange or white, due to the algae they eat, nothing to do with fish.

They are born with grey feathers, but the algae turns them different colours.
