Sentencing tomorrow!

Prayingmun · 15/01/2020 21:12

Please do not judge, I'm going to court tomorrow to be sentenced. I have plead guilty to 3 x fraud by misrepresentation.

2 years ago, I was working for a sex chat website and took money from 3 different men and went on to talk to them away from the website. I know I did wrong.

I'm so nervous I have a 5 year old little girl, I've never been in trouble before but can't help think I'm going to prison! What will I do! Does anyone know what I should be packing? Maybe the wrong site for this but I am going to be awake all night...

Hope all goes well.
My father has a justice background and while you never know what each particular judge is going to do, let’s hope as it’s a first time offence they suspend it.

Good luck x

Good luck today x

eaglejulesk · 16/01/2020 08:25

Good luck - fingers crossed for you.

Helini · 16/01/2020 08:27

Exactly what @OldTownRoadHome with bells on.

Unbelievable men taking advantage of a woman who clearly wouldn’t be choosing to sex talk strangers if she wasn’t vulnerable, and the woman gets a criminal record! Yet men beat and rape women and don’t even get charged.

It's not a fair world, OP so I wish you the very best of luck today. Flowers

ClappyFlappy · 16/01/2020 08:43

Good luck today, I too am struggling to see how you committed fraud? These men gave their money willingly to a sex chat worker, on the website or not that’s still free choice?

Presumably she defrauded the chat line itself and not just the sleazy fucks using the service.

Hope it goes ok OP

thescarftwins · 16/01/2020 08:48

Good luck OP. We are all thinking of you. 💖

puds11 · 16/01/2020 09:48

I’d hope you wouldn’t go to prison for this. Feels like it would be an over reaction! People have definitely gotten away with much less!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 16/01/2020 09:52

Good luck. Surely prison is generally for role who pose a risk to others ... you don’t fit into this category

Rara94 · 16/01/2020 10:19

Good luck today!

Hollywhiskey · 16/01/2020 12:03

Good luck I hope you don't get prison.

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 16/01/2020 12:05

Good luck

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 16/01/2020 12:10

Good luck x

HollowTalk · 16/01/2020 12:16

I can't understand what it is that you have done. Who is the offence against, the guys or the website?

BlackBlueBell · 16/01/2020 12:22

Good luck today!

I too am struggling to see your crime but the only thing I can come up with is that you stole custom away from the website so they didn’t earn their part. Seems silly though if this is the case as the clients could have still outsourced you.

puds11 · 16/01/2020 12:29

@HollowTalk I’m assuming there is a contractual agreement with the website whereby you cannot see clients on the side in order to avoid paying their ‘hosting’ fees? Therefore the OP has defrauded the website by going around the system to make more money. I think.

TendsToHappen · 16/01/2020 12:41

I would assume it’s because OP was claiming benefits and not declaring the income.

My friends mum was prosecuted for benefit fraud to the tune of around 10k and did get a prison sentence but was on tag. Best of luck today x

Fedupofitnow123 · 16/01/2020 13:07

Good luck! I hope, for your daughter, it is suspended

ParkheadParadise · 16/01/2020 13:17

Wouldn't imagine you'll get jailed.
The office manager in my mum's care home stole all the residents money from their personal accounts over a long period of time.
She got community service.

danni0509 · 16/01/2020 13:33

Good luck. I hope you get suspended for your daughters sake xxx

BorissGiantJohnson · 16/01/2020 13:44

Good luck op. It sounds beyond unfair to get prison for this. Nobody wants to sex chat to random peeves, you tried to at least make the most money out of it you could, to do the least of it for the most money, right! I think most of us would do similar given the opportunity. I don't know anything about anything at all, but hopefully this will be treated as a minor thing, first offence, mitigating circumstances, single mum with young dd. They'd be mad (and totally wrong) to give prison for this compared to usual sentences for some other offences. Thinking of you.

Redred2429 · 16/01/2020 13:49

Good luck op I don't understand how this is classed as fraud but either way I hope you get home to your daughter x

Herpesfreesince03 · 16/01/2020 13:51

Good luck op

yogo · 16/01/2020 13:53

I'm hopeful it'll be a suspended sentence. Good luck.
