Anyone else going to do it?

I thought I'd start the thread now as it's a good idea to do some thinking before you start so you can really hit the ground running in November.

For those who haven't done it before, the idea is to write 50k words of a new novel in November.

It's a good way to get motivated to get words down on paper, especially if you've always wanted to write a novel but never managed a whole one before.

There's an official website at NaNoWriMo.org where you can register if you want, but you don't have to.

I'm up to 20,400 words, then have ended up a day behind after a couple of bad writing days.

I've got to 24000 words, feel like I'm catching up after slow start. I've done nearly 12000 words in 3 days Clearly I am neglecting my family!

I have two more days left off work so hopefully I can get a bit more done to help me through the rest of the month!

I'm way behind - had a bad week last week.
Not at all convinced I'm going to finish now, but I'll do my best.

Same here - not sure I'm going to manage to finish, what with having taken time off for the publication of the previous novel. Plus I don't want to write too much - the one I'm working on now is supposed to be a novella. Plus my back is playing up a bit, so don't want to push it.

I think I'll see what happens this weekend and then make a decision - dont want to be writing nonsense just for the sake of it if I'd do better to do some targeted planning and writing at this point, and that's what I'm gettign the sense I should be doing.

Anyone still going? I'm at 41000 and think I will get to 50000 as long as I write loads today, Thursday and fri as I'm at work all weekend.

I'm quite happy with my draft as well, of course most of it is rubbish but I think I've got stuff I can work on and there is a plot in there and more interesting characters than I started out with. I'll probably continue finishing draft in December and try and work it into something half decent.
