King crisps

Sacrilege! Taytos. Though I briefly flirted with Mr Perri as they were cheaper iirc

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/12/2024 09:22

Anyone remember the Top Hat, (vaguely) speaking of Dun Laoghaire?

Oh yes! I went to primary school with a boy whose father owned the Top Hat at the time - he had his birthday party there one year and it was awesome.

The 46a was good enough for a song about it. They're getting rid of the 145 and a lot of other routes too. There'll be no vestige of the old 45 left after January.

Yeah went to the Top Hat a few times usually on hols back from that Lahnden. Great spot. Teddy's Ices after swimming in the Baths - yea I'm ancient- or Bug Rock.

Purpleandredandyellow · 07/12/2024 09:55

Not personally, but lots of family were regulars at The Ha'Smile

'crips' for crisps is a good one.

'Going into town', not 'into the city centre'.

And meeting under Clery's clock of course!

[Does anybody know if any part of Clery's is open to the public yet? I can't wait to go up those sweeping stairs again..]

Fupoffyagrasshole · 07/12/2024 12:35

Santy

Peridot1 · 07/12/2024 12:38

You beat me to it @MarieDeGournay - definitely Cleary’s clock. Or outside Roches Stores.

I grew up just across the road from Tayto so am loyal to them but we had Perri at school - you could buy them at lunch time. And Dad used to bring King Pub crisps back from the pub sometimes.

And definitely Tamangos where the gang goes.

TeaHagTeaBag · 07/12/2024 12:45

I miss Club 92 on Stevenses day.

MarieDeGournay · 07/12/2024 12:47

Hector Greys!

I was in Tamagoes about 10 yearz ago. I think some of the gang have been trapped in there since 1986.

Chizzlers.
Adding in an extra syllable e.g. 'found' = fow-ind.

MarieDeGournay · 07/12/2024 12:54

Fellas an' wans, and some of the wans may be the fellas' motts.

Havalona · 07/12/2024 13:07

DustyMaiden · 07/12/2024 13:08

The one on Grafton st? That's for tourists.

The only breakfast worth going into town for was Del Rios (RIP)
