Anybody see Non Binary Ouija Rock singer Bambi who has been chosen to represent Ireland at Eurovision. I’m very unimpressed.

I'm actually looking forward to it now! It's so cringe but acceptable when you are watching it 'ironically' 😄as I claim to do.

Same here! I think H is too but would obviously never admit to it 😂

honeyrider · 11/05/2024 14:05

I wouldn't be surprised if Israel wins seeing as Italy gave them 39% or 40% of the vote in the semi-finals.

VaddaABeetch · 11/05/2024 16:53

The trans flag all over her. Doesn’t represent me. Desperate attempt to be woke.

Ireland used bow down to me in dresses now we must bow down to men in dresses

The subtitles on the Sky News called them 'Bambi Slug'!😂
Subtitles are sometimes the source of great hilarity, but in fairness they are being transcribed in real time, and usually get it right.

I thought it was horrible.
Frightening for young children.
Eurovision was a a family show.
I remember as a child it was a "big night" in our house, like the Late Late Toy Show.
A night to look forward to.
We'd have treats and "vote".Smile

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 12/05/2024 10:08

We stayed up and ate treats and voted. Ds wrote notes and gave his own scores. It was fun but my God it felt very adult. I get its a camp event with a huge gay following but the choreography and inappropriateness was too much this year. Gyrating almost naked men everywhere, it was like a gay strip club, particularly the UK entry but several acts crossed the line. My kids were quite shocked, they even asked me if it was supposed to be for kids viewing too. The Irish entry was scary too but it felt like a break from the other sexual stuff.

MrsWhattery · 12/05/2024 10:11

I quite liked the song, though I didn’t think it was really in the spirit of Eurovision, it was interesting. But she came across as very needy and immature. “I’m special because” oh grow up, you’re in your 30s! Reminded me of Rik out of the Young Ones.

Marblessolveeverything · 12/05/2024 10:43

@Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong @LadyEloise1 there is a children's Eurovision. On Ireland it is on TG4 not sure where it is on elsewhere. It is a lovely watch.

The Eurovision has evolved alongside the music industry. Watched with the ten year old he was delighted with Bambi. Reckons they are the new Buffy. Fair play great performance, and yes performances can be to scare, unsettled, do you remember the crowd a few years ago who dressed up as demons? This isn't new.

My ten year old lad was impressed with Bambis beautiful voices range and dance ability. The makeup on them both was fab, the lighting effects, that song and performance came a long way from its debut.

I’m in Ireland and I thought our entry was vile. Ugliest type of shite I’ve ever seen. It’s actually embarrassing. When I was a kid the Eurovision was a big deal, proper artists and songs. Johnny Logan, Niamh Kavanagh, Linda Martin, Eimear Quinn etc. Something Ireland would be proud of. What even was that last night? And Switzerland? Fuck sake. The world has lost the plot.

Cosmosforbreakfast · 12/05/2024 11:26

Even Dustin wasn't that bad!

I suppose it's all personal taste though isn't it? I am more of the old school era where they had actual singable songs, but Bambi's song did have a catchy chorus, so I was happy enough with that. The days of proper actual songs are long gone though.

Did you see Bambi’s interview? Fake crying, fake laughing & the Queers are coming for you.

Struck me as a tantrum from an over indulged 6 year old.

With all due respect, if you dislike them so much, don't spend time looking at them. It's bound to annoy you.

She’s there to represent my country paid for by my licence fee. I’m allowed an opinion.

My opinion is that she’s a disgrace with crying, laughing & swearing.

What's wrong with crying and laughing exactly? I'm not against swearing myself but of course it's not to everyone's taste.

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2024 13:55

I'd be more concerned if an Irish woman wasn't swearing

I wonder if the priest in Galway will have anything further to say about her and the Eurovision at mass today.

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2024 13:58

God I hope so @honeyrider he's hilarious Grin

Marblessolveeverything · 12/05/2024 17:34

@VaddaABeetch it would be a poor world if we liked the same thing.

elgreco · 12/05/2024 20:43

I was wrong, we were beaten by isreal! Didn't see that comming. Not a huge fan but thought she put on a good show. The teeth freaked me out a bit. I do thinks she is really overdoing the self pity party.
