I saw this on Facebook and the comments are amazingly normal! I’ve not really read many protesting it at all

Finally, the tide is turning

Mommymoments · 23/03/2023 21:03

@Soubriquet was on the gript Facebook page just there & the an article just posted. Every single one of the comments are very supportive of the ban. Delighted that common sense is starting to come to the forefront. The pressure needs to be put on the GAA now.

About bloody time - brilliant news (although of course it should never have got to this stage where we’re actually having conversations about men competing in women’s sports)

OP posts:
SirChenjins · 23/03/2023 21:47

Why the fuck is that article referring to him as ‘she’ - this crap needs to stop

Mommymoments · 23/03/2023 21:49

He has made no attempt to womanise himself! Even vile deranged BK slapped on a bit of make up & a wig..

Now just to get them out of womens prisons and normality may kick back in.

Mommymoments · 24/03/2023 07:28

The English schools federations quickly jumped in behind the world athletics federation & are not allowing trans compete on women's teams.. Now they can play on the team of their birth sex or rally for a trans section. They are not being excluded. Women's sports & spaces for biological women only.

Link to British schools announcement. Good on them!

That’s an English announcement - but hopefully it won’t be too long before the other UK countries take the same approach 🤞

Mommymoments · 24/03/2023 11:17

Yes @SirChenjins but they weren't long announcing it after the World Athletics federation.
Now is the time for sports organisations to ban trans from all female sports.
They are not being excluded as they can still play for the men's team with all the other males like themselves or if they don't like it no one is preventing them from setting up their own trans leagues.

OP posts:
SirChenjins · 24/03/2023 11:24

Absolutely agree. It seems that the competing isn't as important as imposing themselves on women's spaces. The arrogance of the male - plus ca change.

Mommymoments · 24/03/2023 11:28

And the mainstream media in Ireland continues to pander to trans. Morning Ireland had a transgender "scientist" discussing how science says trans have no physical advantage over women. Also no woman or woman athlete was interviewed to give a woman's perspective. It's like theres a media blackout on any sort of common sense discussion. Sure the Barbie Kardashian story was barely reported & rte referred to him as a she.

OP posts:
SirChenjins · 24/03/2023 12:14

science says trans have no physical advantage over women

And no-one challenged this shit?

There was no one on Morning Ireland to challenge the transgender scientist. No woman athlete on the speak of women's relief.
It's another example of the Irish medias one sided trans propaganda & state controlled censorship.

OP posts:
AppleCharlottie · 24/03/2023 13:01

Well, to be fair, Donal O'Shea was on morning Ireland as well and in fact the transwoman who spoke, though disappointed by the decision, was more moderate than is being represented here. I'd advise people to listen for themselves. It would have been good to have a woman athlete speaking too, but the segment wasn't as one sided as is being implied on here imho.

Mommymoments · 24/03/2023 13:36

@AppleCharlottie they have a transgender scientist, a male doctor but no woman was interviewed. They needed a third voice to be this a two sided debate. Typical progressive Ireland. Stamping out women. Yes I've watched the interview & I've shared the link on other threads I'm on.

OP posts:
SirChenjins · 24/03/2023 13:36

Why did they only have a man talking about his disappointment? Why were women not give their voice?

OP posts:
AppleCharlottie · 24/03/2023 13:56

@Mommymoments Yes, as I said, it would have been better if a woman athlete was also present for the discussion, but I do think saying upthread that "science says trans have no physical advantage over women" misrepresents what was actually said in this case. And the transgender person in question is actually a scientist, not a "scientist".
I do think that transpeople shouldn't be excluded from sport. It was the wrong decision to allow them to compete with women, but taking hormones may also mean TW are disadvantaged in their own biological sex category. And transmen taking hormones may be at an unfair advantage over those in their sex category? More research is needed and solutions that are fair for everyone are needed, but of course women should not be disadvantaged as they have been to date.

Mommymoments · 24/03/2023 14:06

@AppleCharlottie explain to me exactly how your are correcting a spelling mistake there? Howling🤣

In my opinion those men can fuck off & set up their own trans leagues. Or play with the big boys who have penises just like them. No place for men in women's sports, changing rooms or prisons. They need trans spaces & sports.

OP posts:
SirChenjins · 24/03/2023 14:22

I do think that transpeople shouldn't be excluded from sport

Then they need to direct their energies into setting up their own leagues similar to the para sports where there are defined categories.

nilsmousehammer · 24/03/2023 14:31

It always baffles me how tv and radio never seem to realise how awful the optics are to have a group of men discussing between themselves what a women is and what men should permit them.

Yes, that could be one solution worth exploring @SirChenjins.

@Mommymoments To be clear I don't think transwomen should be in women's sports. I simply said that I think you misrepresented today's Morning Ireland discussion somewhat. I wasn't correcting a spelling mistake and I don't think it's funny so I'm unsure why you're howling. I recommended people listen to the show for themselves to make their own judgement and you've now added the link so thank you for that.

In this case the interviewer was a woman, though I do think it would be good for someone like Sonia O'Sullivan to be included in these types of discussions.
