Hotels overlooking a river for no more than 90 euro per night

the thread about old fashioned convalescent holidays got me thinking. I'd love to take a pile of books to a hotel overlooking a river and just spend about five nights, I'd read, watch netflix, do some yoga, walk around the town, perhaps, look out the window, order food to my room, or if I was feeling brave sit at the bar.

Can anybody suggest anywhere? I dont' have a car so it has to over look a river and be near a station! I did come up with the landmark hotel in carrick-on-shannon but it's 129 per night and gets pricier in to the milder weather. Looks nice though.

A budget one is the Premier Inn in Coleraine although it won’t come with luxury but the beds are good.
Train up to Belfast then to Coleraine; have to get a taxi across town. Nice river walks and you have the North Coast a bus or train ride away.

D Hotel Drogheda

Killyhevlin Enniskillen though it could be pricy.

Even better hire a boat on Lough Erne.. Carrickcraft are reasonable

Another vote for Sligo here, thr train station is very central, there are two hotels by the river as well as plenty of cafes, bars etc and if you decide you like your water more exciting for a day, you can get the bus out to Strandhill beach which is fabulous or Rosses Point which is a bit more sedate but also lovely.

I think you'd be lucky enough to get a hotel anywhere for 90 euro or under.

Thanks, I'd like to go to all these places. I'd love to retire and go on a tour of Ireland.

I live in Sligo town. The Glasshouse would be nicer than The Riverside, but both are in lovely spots a five minute walk from each other. Plenty of trains and buses from Dublin etc and you could walk from the train/bus to either hotel.

Holler if you need any more advice.

The Glasshouse is over a rough bit of river that's quite loud, The Riverside is on a really tranquil part of the river, if that makes any difference!

Thanks! Sligo is on my hit list.
