Thinking of Christmas and wanting to promote Buy Irish, what Irish businesses would you recommend? My recommendation is www.beautyskincare.ie Great products and based in Bray. They send out little samples with their orders.

Not an xmas present but i was looking for a pair of clarkes shoes ( i have problem feet and have to wear a particular type) they were €160 on the clarkes website, found them on special at 110 in a family owned shop in Meath, they were delivered in a couple of days too. I bought stuff from the handmade soap company, an item arrived damaged and they bent over backwards to sort it out. Ime small family companies really take business very seriously and are ace for customer service. I was looking for an engineering book on Amazon to replace one my son lost and i noticed the seller was a small bookshop in Dublin. Rang them directly and got chatting to the owner, when he asked for my delivery address he told me a friend he hadn't seen for ages lived on my road, he would pop out and visit him and drop the book in to me! How Irish is that!

That reminds me of three Christmases ago Deadringer, I ordered some cufflinks for my DH and the shop owner turned up at my door with them the next evening. He lived in the next road along. Grin

Any recommendations for leather? Other than mishnoc. Was thinking of a leather belt for DH, but mishnoc is too expensive for me atm.
