Confused over travel

I'm confused over the current travel rules. I know to leave Ireland we need an essential reason but does that also apply for people arriving into Ireland?

For example if someone flew into Ireland and met the requirements for the negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival, completed passenger locator form and then quarantined for 5 days and did another PCR test, is that okay or do they also need an essential reason to arrive in the first place?

Why is a PCR test for your kids such a big deal?

Its invasive. Plus we have to find a place to do it.hope that they arent + etc etc etc

Barely invasive. I have had it twice and 12yo DS three times. I have had more unpleasant sensations blowing my nose. Really, it is so not a big deal, to say you are "subjecting" your kids to it is really overblown. You may as well say you are subjecting your kids to having their teeth cleaned.
