@Frugal25 Frugal l downloaded the Trolley
App and compare the price on there a lot. I also double check with the cheapest supermarket price with their website then.
Sometimes Trolley doesn't keep up with the pricing . Also l go on HotUkdeals and search for the deals in each supermarket. It sounds a lot of work but it's not once you get into the swing of it . Also a lot of deals are cyclical . They do the rounds of the supermarkets in turn. For example Covent garden soups, Anchor butter, Alpro milks, coffee, tea, Ben and Jerry's ice cream . To name but a few .
I also bulk buy when things are on offer too. So l have enough to last me until the next round of offers 😁
Hope you are feeling better very soon sweetheart 💐
So sorry @ChipshopPickledEgg 💐
I totally missed the fact that you have lost your DParents. Bless you and here am l going on about my Mum , not with gay abandon sts but with no sensitivity to others circumstances. I am so happy for you that you have good in laws . Albeit not perfect 💐.Well spotted @Frugal25 I was oblivious and I need to think outside my own box !
@MuddlingLong it's usually about that for us in Costco about once a month . I mostly buy the same things too.
I don't get why ppl love their toilet rolls they seem expensive to me tbh 🤔
What a subject to talk about 😁😂. It a 'bare' necessity though 🤣

Bit of unexpected spending today. Ended up in Marks and Spencer with their 70% off and bought a pair of leggings, a running jacket and a half zip top (£33.57). I don’t love the leggings but decided at £8.39 it didn’t really matter.

You have the holiday planning in hand @BigSkies2022. I hope you have an amazing break and can avoid panic buying before you go. I never can.

Life is most definitely a bitch @ChipshopPickledEgg.

Hope you’re feeling better soon @Frugal25.

Second you on the cyclical supermarket offers @DirtyGertiefromno30. There are a few shops to choose from where I am so I do check and hop between places.

Have been looking at things to do when I’m away next month but haven’t got far. Have been thinking of making salisbury an overnight stay as once I started looking at things to do I didn’t think I could do it all in one day and be relaxed enough to enjoy it. That does feel rather extravagant as sometimes it takes me longer to get to the office than it will take me to get there. At the theatre tomorrow so will be spending on the train and dinner.

Also this one , on reflection l don't bother with Hot UK deals as much now though but l do look sometimes 🤗
Marvellous bargains @RumBananaSundae well done you ! 👏😁
Salisbury sounds lovely .
Have a fab time at the theatre tomorrow. I hope we will be watching the NT performance of The Importance of being Earnest tomorrow on YT, so l will be with you in spirit 🤗😁

I honestly love the Costco toilet roll! I get it for the quality rather than the price, I've never compared the cost but it suits me having it in bulk in the garage and it really is excellent quality.

Please never apologise gurt and please keep talking about your feelings.

We all have our personal demons and battles that were dealing with.

I have been blessed with so many lovely memories of my mum and dad although they wasn't around long enough quality sometimes over quantity whereas I know of so many people who have not been so fortunate.

Frugal25 · 11/03/2026 21:20

I shall take a look now thank you @DirtyGertiefromno30!! How exciting. And when did I get excited about comparing shops?! My friend does it before her shop every week but does it very manually. I shall send her this link too.

Salisbury stop over sounds amazing. I wish I was coming with you @RumBananaSundae. And what will you see tomorrow?

Sending all my love to you @ChipshopPickledEgg. Can't chose your in laws, they come as the entourage. But if yours brought up a good man and you can count on them then that's a win I'd say. So glad you had your parents for the time you did. They made you so I bet they were amazing. Xx

This is so good!! Thank you!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 11/03/2026 23:06

Ah you are very welcome @MuddlingLong😁 just be careful and check the shop website because they sometimes don't change the price in the Trolley app after the offer is over 😊.
Never tried the Costco toilet roll but there's always a first for everything 🤣.
I think we are all so tuned into the COL @Frugal25 that we get excited at the thought of something that sticks it to the big conglomerates . Only in a small way though nothing bad like shoplifting God forbid 🤣.
You are very welcome sweetheart, if l see any great bargains l will post them here 😊
Aw @ChipshopPickledEgg
That's so sweet of you thank you sweetheart ❤️
I know what you are saying about your DParents, the time you had with them was so precious ❤️. And yes others are not as fortunate to have parents like yours but losing them is so very heartbreaking for you 💔. Thank you for being so generous towards us which have been so lucky to have ours for much longer than you ❤️ 💐.

Free chocolate was on the Lidl plus app. They did a Christmas Unwrapped on the app and I'm embarrassingly in the Top 10% of shoppers in my local store. It is just off a roundabout which I use most days sometimes four times a day.

I'm just doing a quick check in as exhausted last night .
£9 for lunch
£6.84 Amazon

chimichangaz · 12/03/2026 08:21

I’m going to look at that Trolley app too @DirtyGertiefromno30 as I shop around for my coffee.

Slight win yesterday as I realised (after getting many emails…) that because of my temp work I have access to a discount app - same one as when I worked FT. So I can now buy vouchers, cards etc and save money!! Ridiculously pleased about that!!

And hoping for another NSD today as I’ve decided to get all my working hours done today instead of knocking off early for the cinema as planned (I have odeon limitless but would probably have spent while out).

Three NSDs in a row is practically unheard of for me!!

Frugal25 · 12/03/2026 09:56

Well done on the NSDs @chimichangaz Def get the work out of the way then you can relax and have fun.

£115 in Lidl. I didn't stick to the list. I stocked up on fresh fish that was yellow stickered. Salmon from £7.50 to £3. Sea bass fro. £4 to £2. I got so much! All in the freezer ready for another day. Stocked up in store cupboard bits too like fresh noodles etc that were on offer. Got Easter bits and mother day bits too so although high, I did stock up ready.
Still unwell but plodding on. Temperature has gone now thankfully. Was shivering and sweating at my desk yesterday. Luckily just feel rotten now ha ha ha.
Right. Off to soft play £6.
Have great days you lovely lot xxx

Frugal25 · 12/03/2026 09:56

Oh and I got a too good to go box of veg for £2. Full of fresh fruit and veg that we shall eat this week. Nom

BigSkies2022 · 12/03/2026 17:21

£67 for single trip insurance. Didn’t shop around just stuck with Staysure. And I bought the full bells and whistles policy with higher levels on everything, gadget cover, no excess. The website claims I was getting a bargain in the sale.

Starting to visualisé myself on the trip!

But here in real world: £11 in Lidl; £0 in pharmacy, because 60; significant amount of time spent on carefully soaking, spot-treating and repeat washing three very nice garments belonging to DS which had come a cropper on recent outings. To be fair, he had tried to restore them. Anyway, they’re fine now; but i have advised him against wearing them while eating, and also that they won’t survive contact with his GF’s exquisite, flawlessly made up face.

Chicken milanese with new potatoes tonight, a spare one for the freezer.

wicked chill wind here today. Back in my mérino base layers.

ChipshopPickledEgg · 12/03/2026 17:54

Lighter post from me tonight

3 porridge sachets down!

MuddlingLong · 12/03/2026 19:11

I've been freezing all day! But it was an NSD woohoo, went to pharmacy but £0 because Scotland.

Discovered a leaking radiator which could explain why DW had to depressure (or whatever it's called) the boiler yesterday morning. I've booked the gas man for a boiler service anyway.

chimichangaz · 12/03/2026 20:02

Wow @Frugal25 some great Lidl bargains there as well as your TGTG box!! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

@BigSkies2022 chicken Milanese sounds amazing. And we have a wicked wind chill here too. I thought I’d left a window open as doors were gently moving!!

Well done @ChipshopPickledEgg on the porridge sachets!!

@MuddlingLong yep, a leaking radiator will definitely be the cause of the boiler problem! Good luck getting it sorted.

I can proudly confirm my third NSD in a row - yay me. And I managed to get all my work hours in so tomorrow I am FREE!!!

MuddlingLong · 12/03/2026 20:05

@chimichangaz well done on the 3 days and how will you spend tomorrow now?

I’m getting all my hair cut off into a bob tomorrow! I’m so nervous but the mounjaro has killed my hair. I also didn’t ask for the price which feels like a rookie error, I’m having blonde at the front too. I’ll upload my inspiration pic. I’m nervous about the price but I’ve been waiting ages for this appointment so just going to go for it.

February faffing, wig mischieving, pancake stuffing, bargain gymnastics and looking forward to Spring Shenanigans ❤️
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/03/2026 20:23

Ah don't be embarrassed being in the top 10% of shoppers @Lockin26 , l was in the top 10% at Christmas they had so brilliant offers on and l was in there all the live long day 😂
Give that Trolley app a go @chimichangaz l find it excellent 👌 🤗
Cor @Frugal25 l didn't realise how many yellow stickers you had you did brilliantly 👏😁
Omg @BigSkies2022 you have been so busy ! I love Chicken Milanese hope you enjoyed it 😁.
Been watching the NT on YT but have to stop now will catch the second half tomorrow. I was watching it on my phone but my eyes were getting blurry so l stopped and being on here isn't helping them either 🤣
My Mum was ok there today but a lot of the residents were feeling poorly after having their jabs yesterday bless them 💐

@MuddlingLong I’ve got a PT session in the morning and then cinema late afternoon to see One battle after another. Think I’ll sort some paperwork and finances out in between 😊

Frugal25 · 13/03/2026 11:59

Enjoy the cinema @chimichangaz!
Oohhh well done @ChipshopPickledEgg. I so need to start on mine. I shall tomorrow. You have inspired me.
That hair looks gorgeous @MuddlingLong. You shall look beautiful.

NSD here. I'm so unwell I've called in sick. I'm actually getting worse than better. It's my brother's birthday so got family here today so I'll drug up for that and it will be an early night for me.
Got hair cut tomorrow (£35) but if I'm still feeling awful I'll cancel and it will be another NSD.

Gorgeous day today after all that wind yesterday. And I've looked up the deeds to my house as my neighbours have always insisted that the fence between us is shared.which means I have all of them facing backwards in my garden and I pay for the lot. But, It's not mine. It's theirs. Confirmed on paper. So the next owner, I shall just be upfront with regarding who's it is. Yippee. Less to pay for.
Right. Time for more drugs and to go and get DD from pre school.

ChipshopPickledEgg · 13/03/2026 13:22

@Frugal25
I did a double today and haven't been able to eat all day!

MuddlingLong · 13/03/2026 15:55

@Frugal25 sucks to be poorly, bless you! Hope an early night shakes it off overnight for you.

I had my haircut and I'm happy with it, £100 including tip (why is tipping so awkward? I gave £5 but I'm always afraid of looking cheap!) and I'm going to tkmaxx for some new shampoo, I resisted just buying it from the salon.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 13/03/2026 18:11

Aw@Frugal25 bless you sweetheart l so hope you are feeling better now ❤️ 💐
Happy birthday to your DBrother too hope you all have a lovely time. Good luck with your haircut tomorrow too 🤞
Glad you are loving your haircut @MuddlingLong brilliant! 👏👏👏😁
@chimichangaz hope you have finished now and have had done food sweetheart 🤗
Been to the charity shops and bought 24 books between Dd1 and 1 for £12. I also bought a lovely little Christmas cushion brand new from JL for £2 . It was £25 in the store at Christmas . Then bought some blueberries and some flowers for Mum from Tesco £14 .
