Think you’ve been scammed, there hasn’t been any COL payments in a few years.

gamerchick · 15/04/2025 10:04

Where did you hear this OP?

No

Is it the household support fund?. I think you have to apply to your council.

Moonshinerso · 15/04/2025 10:13

The Household Support Fund (HSF) is a key way to do this. This is a £421 million fund from central government that people struggling to pay for life’s essentials can access through their local council.
Funding for this has been extended until April 2025.
Local councils are free to allocate the funds as they see best. For example, Medway Council in Kent has been offering supermarket vouchers worth up to £225. Meanwhile, Wakefield council has been offering supermarket vouchers worth £75.

Do you mean this as the past CoL payment was Feb 2024.

“The final cost of living payment, worth £299, was paid in February 2024. The payment did not need to be claimed; it was sent out automatically to bank accounts. So far there are no plans from the government to continue such payments – however there are still hardship funds available from local authorities to help.”

It's odd I have read several articles saying they are doing a one off COL payment this April.
Starting to wonder if I dreamed it.
Definitely wasn't the local fund they were talking about.

Could you post a link to one or two of them and we'll have a look?

IVFmumoftwo · 15/04/2025 21:07

Definitely no more.

Sidebeforeself · 15/04/2025 21:10

Sorry .. definitely no more due. We all just have to scrape together the cost of Taylor Swift tickets ourselves

Moier · 15/04/2025 21:53

Depends on your council.
Here in my city they are giving out supermarket vouchers to certain people on benefits.. around £50.
They do it 3 times per year.
But no COL payments like the £300 before.
That's the Goverment and they're certainly isn't any coming this year.
Have you got mixed up?

They are scam articles.

Ethelflaedofmercia · 15/04/2025 23:02

I randomly received £150 into my account from the council, I did in November too. I didn’t apply for a single thing!

Also got sent heated blankets and £150 out onto my electric meter in November from my electric company. Again, I didn’t apply for anything

Imdoodleladie · 16/04/2025 16:24

I thought they were paying out another three. April/May 2025. Finishing in March 2026. They agreed to it in the last government budget.

It's not always supermarket vouchers. It varies from council to council.
