For those about to end fixed energy deal

Our energy fixed deal is ending in November with EON next. On my online account they offered me a flex rate at £165pm (currently paying £95). On closer inspection and using money saving expert it was way over what it should be. Called them up, spoke to a very difficult call handler but eventually managed to get it for £118, just below the price cap. She couldn’t explain why I’d been offered a deal above the price cap either. Please check all details before agreeing to anything, I would have jus removed over the paying £165 a month but my DM told me to check!

What were the prices per kwh and standing charges for the deal you were offered?

And what is your annual usage - without those figures, you can't really know how good a deal it is (or isn't).

The ‘fix’ is nothing to do with your DD amount.
It’s the charge per KWh and daily standing charge.

Are you under the impression you can't be charged more than £2500? As that's not how the price cap works.

This again. If you are an above average user then you will expect to pay more.

No, the kWh and daily charge is above the price cap. We use 4074 gas and electricity we use 2038.

@Hugasauras no I’m well aware of how the price cap works (not that £165 pmonth would be over that anyway) it’s the unit price that is above the price cap

OP - there is a post on his thread showing the way the EON bill might look when you get yours. The rate is discounted.
