Just had my Octopus prices for October

dementedpixie · 17/09/2022 19:38

Have had my personalised email giving my prices from October. They are making the standing charge 4% lower than the Energy Price Guarantee so my prices will be:

Electricity:
49.021p standing charge and 33.763p kwh

Gas:
26.841p standing charge and 10.277p kwh

Anyone else had any info yet?

No, I keep looking as want to know exactly where we stand.

Hazelmary18 · 17/09/2022 19:41

No nothing yet!

dementedpixie · 17/09/2022 19:43

My email was literally at 19.21 tonight so hopefully everyone gets their own info soon

I've had an email but can't see what they want to charge me from October onwards.

There's a link you click on at the top of the email

Not had mine yet - hoping for a reduction on my fixed rate.

itsgettingweird · 17/09/2022 20:17

I'm with OVO. Nothing yet.

Last week I apparently would owe £83 by end of year and this week £219.

I have used £15 of electric in that time!

But the ML calculator informs me under the new price cap my bill will be £350 more this year than current prices so with the £400 I should be in £50 credit!

Especially as Im also using less energy this year than last year which is what some of the prediction is based on!

The year after however I think I'll have to up it £20-£30 a month.

Electricity: 47.902p standing charge, 33.029p/kwh

Thank you, perversely mine was at the bottom of the email and I hadn't scrolled down far enough. Standing charge is 37.292, unit rate is 35.057p

Now if they could just fix their Crystal Ball thingy it would be great.

Meredusoleil · 17/09/2022 20:23

Is this only for those on the Standard Variable Tariff? I'm on a fixed rate, so probably won't hear anything?

Ovo are apparently giving us the government £66 as a bank refund each month. Not going to credit the account or a discount. So it won’t affect your bill/direct debit, would be easier if it did!

NewBootsAndRanty · 17/09/2022 20:32

Yep, SVR only. They said they're not offering new fixes any more either.
They'll contact you about revised fixed rates shortly I'd guess @Meredusoleil

@bloodywhitecat they say they're working on the crystal ball settings to reflect the new changes soon!

itsgettingweird · 17/09/2022 20:48

Thanks my beautiful.

I'll just pay it straight back via the app if I can stop them raising my DD.

Not that they can decide what to raise it by. It changes weekly.

hiutgv · 17/09/2022 20:49

We have ours too, not too bad in the end, worked it out our DD would need to be £170 for year it's currently at £149 but we have £380 in credit, so should be fine, we also plan on using less anyway this year!

LeoEisor · 17/09/2022 20:52

Im with EDF

New rates
Electricity (starts 01 October 2022)
Unit rate: 35.05p per kWh
Standing charge: 38.94p per day

Gas (starts 01 October 2022)
Unit rate: 10.309p per kWh
Standing charge: 28.48p per da

I hope so because without the crystal ball thing it all adds up but as soon as I switch over to crystal ball it has me owing almost £2k by this time next year.

Fixed rates above the new cap will be getting reduced so you should get some information about your updated rates

PrincessSpanky · 17/09/2022 21:01

Just got our smart meter thing fixed, they couldn't get the reading and had to do something on their side.
Now that it is fixed they have taken the payments for the last few months and we are £650 in credit - thank goodness. As we only have electric, we need a good credit for winter.
Not had any emails about the changes yet.

acrobatcaviar · 17/09/2022 21:16

I'm with So Energy.

Electricity - 50.66p standing charge, 33.75p per kWh
Gas - 28.47p standing charge, 10.26p per kWh

So if my fixed rate is below the new price cap (quite possible as I refixed end of last year), then I won't hear anything?

Hugasauras · 17/09/2022 21:43

We are on Octopus Go, so not sure how/if our tariff will change. Hope we get our email soon!

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 17/09/2022 21:52

I’m with Scottish power and I got the email few weeks ago and I was told mine is not changing and it is staying the same but if I want to increase my direct debit I can

What's not changing?
Are you on a fixed rate?
If you're on the SVR then your rates will be changing in October
