@TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans love the dress and the culottes. I’ve never worn culottes. Might have a look.

feeling a bit better. Ate food. Had a sleep this afternoon. More food.

now watching greys anatomy and drinking rehydration drink. Made lunch for tomorrow. Roasted veggies (thanks to whoever on this thread did a tray of veggies - I copied it) couscous and salad. Overnight oats for breakfast.

Nice dress. I’m too short for culottes

northender · 03/07/2022 21:32

Arrived safely in Devon having done some frugal experimenting on the drive down. So this is a drive we do at least 4 times a year & have been doing it in the same car for 10 years, so we know how much fuel it uses. We would usually drive at 70-80mph but today stuck to 60-70. I honestly can't believe the difference! I reckon we used about a third less diesel, what a saving!

Gensola · 03/07/2022 22:24

life I’m only 5’2 and I wear culottes!
mrs I love all these pics, especially the dress which is beautiful and such a bargain.
all packed for honeymoon, can’t quite believe we are about to go, it’s been booked and cancelled so many times over the past two years. Fingers crossed we escape the airport chaos - don’t suppose anyone has been through Gatwick recently?!

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/07/2022 06:12

Have a fab time Gen
hope you also have a good time unescorted. That bit of a slow down makes such a difference, gosh

nsd planned today

minesalargered · 04/07/2022 07:10

Love the clothes, great value too there!

Have a wonderful time gensola, my niece recently flew from Gatwick and there were no issues whatsoever so fingers crossed for you.

That's quite a saving re fuel north

Hoping to have a very lsd, just parking on the spending front.

Made a huge smoky bean stew last night (I had to add a few flavourings as the original recipe was bland I thought). This will do for today too with rice.

Made a huge bowl of egg mayo too, fancied a sandwich for lunch, usually have salad but we've bread to use up and some in the freezer also.

Have a good day all!

Decafflatteplease · 04/07/2022 07:26

Morning all

em hope you are feeling better today. I also do trays of roasted veg need to try it in the air fryer, an easy way of getting veggies in to your diet if they are all ready to go.

gen have a wonderful honeymoon and fingers crossed for easy travel

mrs they are lovely clothes might get some culottes myself but at only 5 foot they would be full length on me!

north that's fab about the driving we might try that we also have a diesel and have a big drive this summer to holiday (house sitting) so will try to conserve diesel

Should be a nsd here. Meeting in-laws at a play centre with toddler for a play and lunch but they've said it's their treat yay so just diesel to get there it's not far though

Another cheap easy tea tonight.... sausage and red pesto pasta.

Wolfcub · 04/07/2022 08:21

Have a lovely honeymoon Gen

Lovely dress Mrs, I don't have the knees for culottes

Gas man finally arrived after three failed visits. So it was mad cleaning this morning. Need to try and make some significant progress with essay today and pack for four days away with work from tomorrow.

Em glad you are starting to feel a bit better

North that's an excellent saving

Thefroglover · 04/07/2022 08:29

Low spend week for me. DH is going out, but that is in the budget. I only need to buy carrots and 3 packs of meat this week to cover dinners. I don't need to buy anything else. I won't buy anything else. Don't need petrol. Things are much tighter than expected this month.

Thefroglover · 04/07/2022 11:41

NS week not going to plan already. DH wants to go for a haircut and one of the DC could do with a haircut too. I haven't budgeted for either. I guess NS week will have to exclude essentials like the haircuts.

BigSkies2022 · 04/07/2022 15:48

Happy honeymoon, Gen!

Cheap food weekend - Afghan takeaway fed us (plus dog) for two evenings. Resisted the crazy expensive cake at the farmers' market yesterday and settled for (really rather small) M&S one instead. It's pasta Monday so two tins of Mutti tomatoes (on offer in Sainsbury's £1 a piece) for a spaghetti sauce and some courgettes with ricotta and mint on the side tonight. DS back tonight so protein-heavy feeding regime will recommence tomorrow.

Less frugally: just spent £39 on the shampoo and conditioner I like. They will last a long time, but ouch!

CurlsandCurves · 04/07/2022 16:12

Have an amazing honeymoon @Gensola !!!

Very productive day off, lots of life admin done. Sorted out the paperwork drawer where everything gets stuffed until it can be filed away properly. Got everything organised ready to take over to our accountant tomorrow. Booked DS his driving theory test. And sorted out moving an old small work pension over to my shiny new one. Feeling very accomplished.

ememem84 · 04/07/2022 16:13

@Gensola happy honeymoon xxxx have a wonderful time!

minesalargered · 04/07/2022 17:00

Love an organised day like that curls!

Very cultured dog there Skies, having Afghan foodSmile. I'm a massive fan of Mutti tomatoes too, they are expensive but lovely.

Hope the spends stay low froglover.

Got home from work early for once so have made hummus and some carrot and coriander soup for lunches.

Did fill up the car, knew it would be sometime this week and I had spare time. £73. Boo.

Fearofawelshplanet · 04/07/2022 17:18

Have q lovely honeymoon Gen
NSD, first of many I hope!😀

Unescorted · 04/07/2022 17:21

Happy honeymoongen

Em I hate migraines.

North it makes such a difference driving a bit slower and trying to avoid braking. Mine goes from 55mpg to 85mpg if I concentrate. I see more and more people driving like that.

Yesterday was a NSD. Today would have been but DD and DD2 are in residence tonight. They are like black holes.... DH has been sent out for more bread, cheese, chocolate, crisps and milk.

Alfiemoon1 · 04/07/2022 17:31

Have a lovely honeymoon Gen

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/07/2022 18:00

£17 M&S as disorganised

Decafflatteplease · 04/07/2022 18:17

I'm so impressed with my frugaleering this evening 🤣 all day at the hospital and I'm exhausted. Normally I would say oh let's grab a takeaway but we stuck with the meal plan so better for our wallets and waistline!

Wolfcub · 05/07/2022 06:31

Heading for London four three days, business not pleasure, I do not want to go

minesalargered · 05/07/2022 07:03

You're allowed to be disorganised sometimes life, I find when I'm time poor I'm less so.

Boo to the work trip wolf, hope it's not too much of a pain.

No spends planned during the day but going to see the new Elvis film this evening. Using my friends Meerkat tickets. We are going out for tea, but it'll be a chain type restaurant so hopefully not too expensive.

Actually, the dog has a gunky eye, so I'll get some eye cream from the chemist later, that'll be about £3/4 I think. I'll use loose change.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/07/2022 07:25

Can you use the meerkat at the food pace too?

boo work trips
