Hi has anyone had bargains with their blue light card?
Asda are doing 10% off again.
I've had fab discount at Tog24 even in sale stuff.
Greene king pubs have 20% off food and drinks.

Any others?

Just show it in asda.

JD only do it online which is really annoying and stupid. When I found that out I just told them I'd buy it online instead.

I've just seen Hush are doing 10% for BLC. I'm going to have to sit on my hands.

I can't see Miller and Carter listed, or McDonald's. Do you sometimes just ask if they accept BLC and get a discount, even if it's not listed on the website?

Sometimes that works, it's worth asking. The offers change all the time.

I've never used BLC in McDonald's. I use the nhs discount.

It’s really easy to use on the app. Just search for the store then click on the deal and your QR code appears.
I got a big discount on AO which is why I joined. Think the annual joining fee is £4.99 and it saved me about £150. I also use it regularly at Prezzo. Got a big discount on a Simba mattress too.

Asda no longer includes alcohol. Gutted!

I've found that a lot of local places accept the BLC but are not on the app, I went to the Spalding Outlet Shopping Centre and just asked at each store and probably had a 75% hit rate. I was also told that there are more discounts on the website than the app as less people will look there!

I got a good discount for West Midlands Safari Park last year. And as others have said if you self scan at a supermarket, just ask for a member of staff and they'll come over and apply the discount.

My daughters love taking me to new look! Also used it at White Stuff, fat face, for cinema tickets, meals out... its just used as a bonus on things I'd be doing anywhere, ie meeting an old friend for dinner, if check and we'd book somewhere where I get a discount.

The McDonald's discount is great too!

I’ve used mine recently at Fat Face, Dorothy Perkins and Peacocks. In total, saved around £35. Recently found out you get money off at Toby carvery when DS’s girlfriend used hers there when we were out.

I don't have one but my dc does. I think it is just about getting in the habit of asking. A bit like student discounts - they don't tend to be advertised, but if you ask, then you will often get a positive response, and if you don't, you haven't lost anything.
Some places Nando's advertise it then wouldn't accept it as a stand alone card - wanted to see a payslip as well, which people don't tend to carry about with them, even if they still get a paper one, which most people don't.
You certainly get your money back several times over if you take a family to one of the big attractions they partner with.

Nando's don't accept BLC. They do nhs for online and eat in orders and then police, fire and military eat in.

Brewers pairs do 15% off all paint including little greene and farrow and ball/ if they sell it, its 15% off

Regarding the McDonald's I'm not sure if it's all of them, there's a few near me but it's just 1 in the centre that offers it,

Just been to Ember Inn near us and got 25% off my pornstar martini and nachos. Lovely real cocktail and homemade nachos. Spent about £8.
