Hi has anyone had bargains with their blue light card?
Asda are doing 10% off again.
I've had fab discount at Tog24 even in sale stuff.
Greene king pubs have 20% off food and drinks.

Any others?

No and there’s no way to use it at self service tills

There is. Last time it was on a lady working the self service area told a friend and I that you press 'ask for assistance' or similar, on the screen before you pay, and they come and do it for you. I would double check by asking a member of staff first though 🙂

waltty · 28/05/2022 16:16

If you use self service tills at Asda the assistant monitoring the self service area will take off discount , the same when the discount was on at Morrisons

BeHereNowx32 · 28/05/2022 16:27

Recently got a discount on Haven Holidays. I do forget to use it a lot.

persephone19 · 28/05/2022 16:28

I got 27% off a new washing machine, drier and fridge recently so literally £100s. Well worth it for the Hotpoint / Indesit discount alone.

Yourearealboy · 28/05/2022 16:38

I’ve not had the benefit of the membership fee. I’ve used it once so far for DS to buy something at JD that he had his own discount code for anyway so was exactly the same.

I find the site really hard to navigate too. I don’t want to scroll though 100’s of retailers but it won’t just let me search by store name.

am I missing something?

LooksBetterWithAFaceMask · 28/05/2022 16:39

I use mine loads. It expires in September and I’ve literally just changed jobs so won’t be entitled to renew now.

You can search by store name on the app. Not sure I've ever looked on the website

failing40s · 28/05/2022 17:25

Do you have to pay for it? My H has one, we always use it for cinema tickets. Also got a discount on a new TV from Samsung and on Hoseasons & Cottages.com holidays, and maybe on Eurocamp too. I got 15% off Oliver Bonas recently. I don't always remember to use it but if I'm making a big purchase I usually check the app for discounts.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/05/2022 19:07

There is a fee, but I've more than had it back.

Lindy2 · 28/05/2022 19:27

DH uses his at Subway and our local cinema.

We've also enjoyed some of the special Blue Light events at theme parks. We're going to the Legoland one in November which I'm guessing is a Christmas soft opening.

I may be dragging DH around Asda next weekend to get the 10% off.

DeathMetalMum · 28/05/2022 19:35

I've had discount on two holidays at haven, managed to use service tickets for several big days out saving a lot (£30 ish off our tickets for Longleat, and similar for Gullivers world). I've used it for cinema tickets, KFC, morrisons discount. Asda had 10% off over Christmas and throughout January, which has just returned. I've even saved on breakdown cover two years running. Very much worth the fee.

Snowpatrolling · 28/05/2022 20:13

I’ve just been accepted for one, tried to use it online with jd sport but it’s not accepting th code, do you click it in the discount code bit?

Zemw · 28/05/2022 20:17

Lots of food discounted. £200 off a phone.

We use scan as you go. You ask the assistant to add the discount before you pay, just show your card and some ID

DockOTheBay · 28/05/2022 20:31

We used it at a family day out today, expecting 10-20% off, and they gave us 50% off the entrance fee! Saved us £25!

Its a shame the Asda 10% off is only instore as we do all our shopping online.

mycatallowsmetolivehere · 28/05/2022 20:37

I save over a tenner each time we go to Miller
And Carter
Trainers in JD I think was 20% off
New Look is also a good discount
Def worth the 5 or 6 quid I paid , think it's 2 years you get but don't quote me

I'm sure it's 5 years, mine doesn't expire till 2024 and I've had it a few year,

It was £5 so a £1 a year

PinkButtercups · 28/05/2022 20:50

Yes. I always use it.
Best one was about £40 off a bike in Halfords.

mycatallowsmetolivehere · 28/05/2022 20:59

Thanks @ew1990 I must check mine for expiry date , I think you right , can't remember last time I renewed but certainly prior to pandemic and was def in date today as took my son to Miller and Carter for his birthday and got £12 quid off or bill

Your welcome,

My local McDonald's does 1 meal at 50% off with a blue light card, can get a large meal for about £3, I've definitely made my money back 😂😂

AnotherVice · 29/05/2022 00:54

I used it when I got my car on contract, it waived the almost £200 fee. Also use it for cinema tickets, hotel chocolat for my daughter's velvetiser, 20 percent off at superdry, 7 percent off at Curry's and I've bought several new appliances recently so saved loads there, 5 percent off two new beds, occasional other purchase if I remember to check. Also qualifies me for a 10 percent discard card at local outlet so I've used it on doctor martens, leather jacket. It's definitely been worth it for me.

WreckTangled · 29/05/2022 10:06

Oh I also saved £10 with blc on my heated throw from Lakeland which actually stacked with the 20% off code so ended up with £30 off

WindyKnickers · 29/05/2022 10:10

Services Days at Legoland.

Juniper68 · 29/05/2022 10:14

Which cinema do you use it at?

OP posts:
dadadeedadada · 29/05/2022 10:24

I don't really understand how it works. I tried to use it in store at jd sports, once, cashier told me it's online only. Is that the same for Asda? Or do you just rock up at the till and present it? I usually shop in Tesco, but I've found out that Iceland are doing a discounted OAP shop so I'm dragging my mum down there next week. If I can figure out how to use my BlueLightCard in Asda I'll head off there as well.
