Same here Unescorted. Just stressing now about how to get all the presents organised. Theres a small window between dd1 going to sleep and dd2 waking up again!

Nice to see you Curvy.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/12/2019 19:53

Snuggly, I hope you manage to get some sleep too.

LivingInLaputa · 24/12/2019 21:00

Fell off the thread! Merry Christmas to you all. 💖

SnugglySnerd · 24/12/2019 21:33

Thanks Curvy.

I was wondering if you were ok Lap.

Merry Christmas!

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2019 23:09

Happy Christmas to everyone
Second photo should explain first Shock
Overhead tank burst Christmas Eve, no hot water until after weekend I'd say Sad

Every last coin in my purse went to the various collections at church this evening. Ds went with me, dd with her dad, ds was super cuddly and sweet it was a lovely ceremony.

Curvy you sound so positive, enjoy the holidays

Oh no that's rubbish happier, bad timing.
seacow I don't feel as prepared as I wanted to be either. Dh has been ill so that hasn't helped.
Well done all those who have turned off work phones etc. Down time is so important.

We would usually have gone out for a drink tonight, but didn't with dh under the weather, so saved money and actually had a lovely afternoon and evening with the dc. We went to the christingle service which was lovely, delivered a couple of cards, came home & had curry with a bottle of fizz and finally sat together & watched an old Gavin & Stacey Christmas special in preparation for the new one tomorrow. Lovely family time.
I asked the dc whether, now they are older, they wanted presents put under the tree & they both looked horrified, so stockings & pillowcases were left out & duly filled!

Happy Christmas frugal friends x

Lovemaltesers · 25/12/2019 08:15

Oh no happier, what rubbish timing Xmas Sad

Happy Christmas everyone!

Unescorted · 25/12/2019 09:12

happier it is a good reason to stay in bed / curl up on the sofa & leave the washing up for someone else.

Happy Christmas!

We are having a slow Christmas - dinner at 5 so we can go for a walk this morning and not get too radged before bedtime. Kids are at the GPs already, we will aim to get there for 2 so the turkey has time to cook.

Happierwithouthim · 25/12/2019 10:21

Must check if dishwasher & washing machine are connected to mains, if they are it's grand if not I'll deal with it too.
Drawing water to cistern for toilet flushing is most annoying

Hope Santa came to everyone & all are pleased with their gifts

Hope your dh gets better soon if possible north

ChristmasSeacow · 25/12/2019 11:40

Oh no Happier! Crap timing.

Merry Christmas all.

My cold took a turn for the worse last night and I had a pretty much entirely sleepless night with an endlessly dripping nose and constant sneezing. I reckon I only managed to doze between 5am and 6am. I feel absolutely terrible today, grotty and so tired I can hardly talk. DH went to the duty pharmacy this morning to get me some night nurse and other drugs - I was so relieved I could have cried!

Back to bed now for a bit. I feel awful I’m missing some of Christmas Day with the kids but I want to make sure I can sit through lunch. Onwards and upwards.... I hope!

SnugglySnerd · 25/12/2019 13:38

Oh no, Happier what awful timing. You too Sea, hope you feel better soon.
I had a rubbish night too and now have a banging headache.

Happy Christmas to you all.

moimichme · 25/12/2019 13:54

Happy Christmas everyone. Hope you're all having a good day and those who are ill are feeling better very soon. Xmas Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 25/12/2019 14:02

Oh no Snuggly! I’ve had a short nap and put on some lipstick and feel more human. Lunch shortly... hope your day picks up x

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/12/2019 15:09

Ah crap happier.
Gws poorly people.
I got the beginnings of a migraine this morning so went back to bed for half an hour. Feeling not too bad now.
Very happy children. I even got a hug off DD 12 and she never touches anyone.

Happy Christmas my lovely frugaleer friends both still on the thread and who have drifted away. X

Lovemaltesers · 25/12/2019 15:16

Get well soon poorly frugaleers

My Dad and DP are both now asleep on the sofa. My mum has finally stopped talking which included whilst eating Christmas lunch Xmas Envy

Did anyone get anything nice? I got the central perk Lego friends set. I think it’s been about 25 years since I got Lego for Christmas Xmas Smile

LivingInLaputa · 25/12/2019 15:18

Aw sorry about all the illness and lack of water! Nightmare :(

Nice chilled day here so far. I have been dreading Xmas for months tbh for various reasons but with all the chaos the last few days (DH at hospital with DSD with an awful abscess, she is on the mend now) it just made me drop all the pressure on myself and BOOM. Relaxed. 💖

LivingInLaputa · 25/12/2019 15:23

Ooo I’m jealous love that’s an amazing Lego set! I get Lego some years (husband and kids making up for the fact I was never allowed it as a child :o) I love it.

DS has declared he has no more room for keeping his builds. He has particular sets but also designs amazing transforming models etc, he wants to work for them one day :o I’ve decided we need to get some shelving for his room that he can display things on. Probably need a trip to ikea soon as we still don’t have a wardrobe 17 months after moving in 🙈😂

Caglets all loved their presents. Managed to do it affordably, toddler’s stuff is pretty much all second hand.

maddenlightfoot · 25/12/2019 17:28

Merry Christmas frugaleers Xmas Smile!

I've been quietly frugaling away over the past few months and despite having a last minute panic that my DMs present was 'not enough' it went down a storm (sentimental rather than monetary).

I've been MIA since October/November from here but hoping to join back in? I've had the most horrendous term - all the children unwell back to back and serious questioning of life/work etc (not helped by exhaustion!). Am seriously considering leaving my current position and going to supply for a while. I'm really unhappy with how my current school operates and want to leave but it's just so damn convenient (I work 5 mins from home, 5 days but within school hours so can drop and pick up my own children).

Nothing like Christmas / New Year / New decade for reevaluating life!

Anyway, now I finally have 5 minutes peace (sponsored by Frozen II merch and chocolate coins) I'm off for a proper catch up in all of your news xx

Happierwithouthim · 25/12/2019 18:10

Ooh Lap that Lego set sounds lovely.

Had a nice day with dc, they're gone off since 4pm to their dads & then I walked with dog for an hour before coming back to clean up ds's snow, (broke the polystyrene that came with dds Christmas present AngryHmm) which took most of another hour. Mil's sweeping brush broke too while doing it, she died almost 14 years ago and it wasn't new then either. I don't like my own one so I'll be doing some exciting shopping in next few weeks Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/12/2019 18:24

Course you can hop back in madden.

£1.95 on a whoopee cushion today. I sat on ds' and it popped. Ooops

ememem84 · 25/12/2019 18:51

Christmas pics. New phone case. Ds and sharkyface. And the chocolate rum torte. Yummmm

Merry Christmas everyone!

Happier that is rotten luck about the water tank!

Hope all that are ill, get better really soon.

We've had a lovely day. It was very nice this morning without ex dictating. He has behaved, but was warned that if he started, he would have to leave.
All my dcs were happy with their gifts. Ds1 got me a Google home mini and dd1 got me some lovely handmade soaps and a beautiful scarf, I feel very lucky.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/12/2019 20:30

Lovely photos em.
Great he behaved curvy.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 25/12/2019 22:06

Merry Christmas everyone, we've had a lovely day. Dd is finally better and coped okay with the excitement/business etc for most of the day. The puppy had a brilliant day, the weather was gorgeous cold but sunny and we took him on a fab walk.

Plancina · 25/12/2019 22:11

Happy Christmas to all from Rome! We are having a blast but of course ate way too much and now lying feeling sorry for selves Grin had the most amazing meal in a tiny little place in the back streets today that was recommended by an Italian guy I work with. It has to be one of the best meals I have ever eaten, but sadly I ate too much of it...
We are taking a tour of the ancient sites tomorrow but it doesn’t start until 10 so at least we can sleep it off a bit. DP got me some lovely and very thoughtful presents, and he cried when I gave him his present bless him!!
