I would love to have a cleaner. That's my aim for next year.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 10/12/2019 22:34

I'm thinking when I start my uni course next March I might get a cleaner, even if they just keep on top of the bathroom and hoover through it would be a massive help!

WreckTangled · 11/12/2019 06:58

I would feel stupid having a cleaner as my house is so tiny Grin plus I clearly can't afford one. If I had the funds I wouldn't question it though.

ememem84 · 11/12/2019 07:39

I said to dh that our joint ac budget will have to increase to factor in a cleaner. He was a bit put out by this but I did say I’m not spending my time cleaning cleaning when I’m off work. Normal everyday keeping things looking nice cleaning yes. But the big stuff. Nope.

Obviously once the kiddos are bigger we won’t need as much help. But for now. Outsourcing. That’s the way forwards.

Today I’m having an indoors day. Laundry to do and I’m going to do a bit of s declutter and a tidy in dds room. She has things she’s outgrown so am going to sort these out.

Ds is still asleep. He went to bed at 730 last night. And made a fuss until 845. He’s knackered. He didn’t sleep at nursery yesterday.

Happierwithouthim · 11/12/2019 09:01

I had a cleaner before my separation, now myself and au pair muddle along with it, I couldn't afford one now and when I've time child free now as well I couldn't justify it.

I started TOMM method but because my house still needs major decluttering I didn't keep it up. I will do it in my next house though as that'll be a blank canvas starting off.

My Christmas Tips are coming in €250 so far this week Grin

Joint account is at all time low, had to transfer money from my own account to meet mortgage last week, combination of massive grocery shop and santa previous week also.

I just took a look at the santa gifts for dc and ds definitely needs topping up. I've nothing got for stockings yet either so I will sort this as well this weekend.

€5.78 yesterday on cat food and chicken goujons
€8.25 on Chicken burger & Chips for me (don't let the dieting frugaleers see this sshhhh)

ememem84 · 11/12/2019 09:13

Message from sil in nz. Our parcel has arrived. Hooray. Sadly it’s been opened and mils jo Malone perfume has been removed as has her clarins stuff. Apparently I’m not allowed to send these items. Ffs. I had no idea.

So £70 in total gone. And we’ll have to buy something else. So so annoying.

Badabingbadabum · 11/12/2019 10:16

Hello, I've been here before a few times under other names. After a (another) shocker of a year there is finally a glimpse of the end of the tunnel. I'm hoping to get some tips and advice and some friendly chat. Need something to distract me from the three payments coming up that I have no way of paying. And that I was declined a loan in the actual bank.

But things will improve soon! And the kids love lentils and chickpeas!

Happierwithouthim · 11/12/2019 11:31

Welcome back badabingbadabum love your username

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 11/12/2019 13:10

Omg em that's bad! Do they not return items that are confiscated?! Surely that's stealing!! On a side note, I really wish you were my sis in law 😁

Busy morning here, done lots of cleaning and sorting out, took the dog for a nice walk and am enjoying a cuppa now. Need to go into town next but not really looking forward to that!

Anyone got any thoughts on the election? Depressingly I think we're in for another 4 years of Tories 😩

ememem84 · 11/12/2019 13:42

I don’t know girlie we’ll wait and see.

I’ve sorted more of ds’ clothes and have cleaned the kitchen. Also cleaned upstairs windows.

Am watching the handmaids tale now while Dd naps. Laundry is on.

Itll be interesting to see the results of the election.

ememem84 · 11/12/2019 15:32

Dds clothes have been sorted. One huge blue and red laundry bag full of 0-3 stuff. Seriously. How much stuff did we actually need?!?!

ChristmasSeacow · 11/12/2019 16:07

5 years, Girlie 😬😬😬

That’s very annoying Em. I don’t really understand either - most confiscation of stuff is because of biological controls but not sure why that would apply here?

Buuuuuusy day at work, just having lunch now. Totally Hank Marvin.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/12/2019 16:27

Welcome back badabing.
That's shit em. What on earth could be wrong with those products.
Fingers crossed unescorted
God I hope the Tories don't win.

Nsd today. Presents wrapped. 2 more needed for DS. Found my lost one though.
Tree up with lights. No other decorations on it yet

Happierwithouthim · 11/12/2019 17:19

€12.59 on treatment for dds verrucas, got using my free health & beauty Superdrugshipping & still saved money vs buying it in Ireland ShockHmm
also booked dentist to paint her back teeth for 3rd jan

Em that's horrible about the confiscated presents.

SnugglySnerd · 11/12/2019 18:02

That's horrible Em. What a shame.

Welcome Badabing.

Nsd. The kids are manic this evening. I'm losing the will to live!

Unescorted · 11/12/2019 18:24

Welcome back Badabing

Em that sucks. When we "send stuff" to Oz we give someone the money to go out and buy it there because the post is soooooooooo random.

NSD - except claimable travel expenses. Card read on the bus was broken so I was let on for free, train fare to claim, and a friend gave me a lift home.

DD is coming home YaY - dh rang the porters at the college and they knocked on her room with a phone charger. She seemed ok with the whole thing - the art exam was weird apparently. They let every one in to the studio where they had to fight over the materials and space. The questions were assigned (one of 3) and then half way through they added an other part. DD got a tree that didn't exist and then had to makes something from the leaf of the tree. She is happy and got positive feedback from others who were being interviewed. How it went..... well I guess we find out in Jan.

Wolfcub · 11/12/2019 19:43

Bit tipsy. Love you all mwah 😘

Work Christmas do. I’m tipsy too, and I love you too Wolf.

Forgot to say welcome to Badabing earlier, please forgive my rudeness. Great name btw.

I have no voice left after noisy pub, food and then karaoke. How am I going to shout at my children tomorrow?

LivingInLaputa · 12/12/2019 01:35

Ooh drunk mumsnetting! I wish I was drunk. I love all you lot though. ❤️❤️❤️

Welcome badabing!

DD1 is still loving school other than putting up with kids messing about in class. :o
