Love the trainers

ememem84 · 23/04/2019 21:32

Ah yes. The keys.

They have been located. In a zipper pocket in my handbag. Which admittedly was left on the floor. So ds could have put them in there. Or dh did it.

I love cheeky wipes! I bought two packs before ds came along and had every intention of using them on his bum. But couldn’t do it. So I use them as face wipes now. And also when I had a stinking cold I used them instead of tissues. As softer on my nose.

My skin has super improved since switching from disposable wipes.

I’ve just about got dh sold on the idea of reuseable nappies. He won’t go for wipes. I’m all for cutting down in some places.

happytobemrsg · 23/04/2019 21:36

I hadn’t thought about frozen berries. I’ve used them in smoothies before & they’ve been great.

Ah it’s annoying the keys were found in your bag em! I hope your DH doesn’t try to blame you!

ememem84 · 23/04/2019 21:43

I did point out to dh that I didn’t hide them in there. If I had there’s no way I’d have rummaged through the bin yesterday!!!

cag I was in jojo maman Bebe today and picked up two sun suits/rompers for dd to be. They have dinosaur prints for girls. Super pretty. Super cute!! See pic. One is dinos. The other flamingoes.

I used a voucher for these and a hat for ds. So it doesn’t count as a spend.

Evening all 😊

Survived my first day! Was spent mostly doing admin stuff but the next few weeks look good, lots of interesting things going on so so far so good.

Love those trainers and those rompers em 😍

Hope Dm is okay love and glad yours is feeling better sea, that's a shame ds is poorly though.

I picked up a couple of bits at Sainsbury's £6.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/04/2019 00:55

Well done Girlie, hope your new colleagues are nice.

A really good haircut is a miracle! Also love those trainers, and the dinosaur print.

Massively productive work day but I have been at it since my 8am meeting, apart from 2 hours for Slimming World (not good news, bloody cake making. I think I must have absorbed buttercream through my skin AngryWink). I’ve just finished another round of shortlisting so about to go to bed. Still massively behind with work but gradually clawing back.

Delivered the surprise birthday cake to my friend tonight. She was ever so pleased, I got the warm and fuzzies. I gave up with buttercream flowers as it was simply too hot for them to hold their shape so in the end I just blobbed the coloured buttercream all over. It looked as though DD had decorated it Grin

Not frugal today... oops. Frugi (lovely organic kids’ clothing) has a 25% off offer and while I was at SW Waiting for the chat to start I browsed a bit and found myself buying some very cute stuff with puffins on for DD and some strawberry stuff too . Not frugal, but Frugi sounds a lot like Frugal, so I think that almost counts, right?

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/04/2019 05:29

Sea that’s a super long day, I imagine it out feel better knowing you are catching up though

Em if I’d found them in my bag I think I’d have hidden them somewhere else

ememem84 · 24/04/2019 06:41

wolf I thought about it on the basis that if dh had put them there then he’d be wondering how they got somewhere else and might have let slip that he popped them in my bag. But he was in the room when I found them.

Ds was crying at 9pm. I gave him a cuddle and he fell asleep on our bed. Left him there. He is a wiggly sleeper. Every couple of hours I woke up to a head being wedged Into my back. Or an arm thrown across my face. Dh had the feet so luckily no kicking for me!!!!

Dentist this morning. Sigh.

Raining here. Absolutely pouring down.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2019 07:28

Pay day today. So disappointing. Although rather than giving me a lump sum back for my tax and NI they've taken it off what I pay which is very confusing but whatever. With that and my payrise I'm not taking home too much less than before.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2019 07:28

Oh and I get an incremental raise in next months pay too.

Thatsnotmybaby · 24/04/2019 12:53

Do you think you will be on an even keel with next month's salary @WreckTangled? I hope so.

Spends yesterday:
£23 dinner out with DH for 'date night', we had a lovely sunset walk too, really enjoyable.
Also spent £35 on flowers and plants, including a raspberry and a blueberry 'bush', if that's even the right word? I'm very uknowledgeable on gardening, especially compared to some of you; thankfully DH is better than me in that area.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2019 13:19

No definitely not but will still be ok.

happytobemrsg · 24/04/2019 13:56

The trainers have arrived & they fit perfectly! Love them! Tempted to get them in this colour for spring/summer - what do you all think??

Popped into Matalan on the way back from picking up DS from MIL. Bought a pair of maternity jeans & a nice maxi dress (the maternity wear section was abysmal - I’ve seen bigger changing rooms). Bought a couple of t-shirts for DS. DH gets the occasional scratch card & when he wins I get the money - he just won £30 so that’ll help!

I’ve been really trying to get back into cooking & I just made a recipe from a new cookbook I have. It was really basic but I’m pleased with myself - scrambled egg on toast with roasted cherry tomatoes. Missing the fresh basil but will add next time.

happytobemrsg · 24/04/2019 14:50

Looks like those trainers are a no-go - the pink ones are canvas rather than leather like the black ones & the canvas ones hurt my feet. Such a shame! Still, I’m looking forward to breaking in the black ones!

Relaxing afternoon today I hope. Got washing to do & DH is working from his home office so it’s just me & DS. Currently snuggled up watching Fireman Sam & researching recipes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2019 16:48

Mrs g step away from the trainers. You are not being frugal Grin

maddenlightfoot · 24/04/2019 17:08

Sea I admire your Frugi/Frugal reasoning 😂... and yes MrsG step away from the trainers (even though they are gorgeous!!)

First day back at school yesterday = £10 school trip request 🙄, however NSD today makes up for it and I've managed to make two frugal recipes from left over roast (bubble and squeak and lamb curry)

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2019 17:45

Frugi sounds like it should be frugal. At least there was a discount

Nsd as I forgot my purse

Unescorted · 24/04/2019 18:40

life I do - we swapped user names.
sea I can be your official cake taster. I don't mind taking one for team frugal.
Wreck glad your first day went well.
MrsG will need the trainers with all the stepping away from them she is going to do Wink
Em dungarees are so cute at that size. Obviously a fashion faux pas at my age and size.

The hair cut was not so frugal today as I realised I needed (yes needed....honestly) a new hair brush and some sleeky spray. Otherwise it is going to go all angles.

Dinner has made up for my impulse purchases as it is recycled spag bol into chilli.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2019 18:52

Not the nsd I thought. £36 school dinners.

I can think of one cycling frugaleer but she is not posting at the moment and would be in c2c territory

Unescorted · 24/04/2019 19:06

I know life Sad

WreckTangled · 24/04/2019 19:10

Yeah I miss lonely

ememem84 · 24/04/2019 19:25

Ok. So spendy today.

£176 boots online. Baby event. Got loads for dc2. Sling, grow bags, changing bag (ds’ is broken), clothes, bottles etc.

Ds not in a good mood today. Very grouchy. He has a couple of spots. Hm. I’m hoping that it’s nothing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2019 19:44

£3 hospital parking. Dd has a butterfly back stuck in her ear. Also her finger has become more bruised as the week goes on
