How much do you pay for sky tv?

Lou0219 · 21/01/2019 21:23

We current pay £120 for sky tv, multiroom & £40 for broadband. The broadband is included in the £120 I think this is way too high. What packages do you have & how much do you pay?

Thanks in advance

Do you need Sky? We dont have any TV packages, we just watch ordinary TV plus Netflix and Amazon video. I think our Broadband is about £22 per month

Dancer12345 · 21/01/2019 21:25

I have the entertainment package, box sets, landline and broadband and it’s £42 a month.

Dancer12345 · 21/01/2019 21:27

Sorry, £40.

Dyingforchocolate · 21/01/2019 21:28

I don't have my broadband through sky it's through bt and I can't cancel it yet (Angry I can't wait to I feel like they are robbing me) but for the entertainment package & box sets for sky (everything without sport and movies) I pay £21 a month. I had to cancel for about a month and they kept coming back and coming back with lower prices. I'm happy with that price though.

1happyhippie · 21/01/2019 21:28

I pay the same as you op.
It is very expensive, I am seriously thinking of shopping around now.
We watch alot of sport so would love to find something that still includes that.

Fivefootoffun · 21/01/2019 21:29

Watching with interest - ours is now up there £120 a month after an introductory offer. We were going to ring up and take off movies and sport see if it brought it down much.

Anyone any tips for haggling with Sky?

DangerMouse17 · 21/01/2019 21:31

Just say you need to leave because you can't afford it. They will then give you a deal....worked for me!

ListenLinda · 21/01/2019 21:34

Ask to be passed to cancellations, tell them you can’t afford it anymore and have to reduce or leave.

I did this two weeks ago and got all new kit, Sky Q upgrade, removed a package I don’t use and knocked £40 a month off

Lou0219 · 21/01/2019 21:35

I have called & told them it’s too high they offered me £30 off which sounds a lot but we are still paying £90 a month which is still too high imo x

I pay £12 a month for just ordinary Sky.

Baby1onboard11 · 21/01/2019 21:40

Sky q tv entertainment package, line rental and fibre broadband for £27.99 a month

Toomanycats99 · 21/01/2019 21:42

Don't take the first offer. Cancel tv and then ring them about 2 weeks into the 4 week cancellation period. Then again as late as you can hold your nerve!

I have got sky q tv inc boxsets, a second box, unlimited broadband, line rental and unlimited calls any time for £62.

ffswhy · 21/01/2019 21:42

knocking sports and movies off should bring that down quite a bit. They may offer to do sorts and movies for free for a month or two but if you can't afford it then get it taken off.

@Lou0219 so am I right in thinking you pay 160 per month!! For sky and broadband!!??? That is crazy money...sorry

We don’t pay either. Internet comes off my phone (unlimited deal) 35 per month and no tv here just Netflix (which is my mums account that she lets us use as we don’t actually use it often at all)

Twickerhun · 21/01/2019 21:58

Phone, broadband, sky go, sky sports but not movies for £50something I think

lunar1 · 21/01/2019 22:10

Ring them, we have just about everything they do for £77 a month. Every time it's almost finished we ring again and they extend it for 18 months.

Turquoisetamborine · 21/01/2019 22:30

We pay £70 pm for Sports, Movies, kids channels, broadband and phone line. I think that’s quite good.

Turquoisetamborine · 21/01/2019 22:31

Oh and Sky Go

Frazzled2207 · 21/01/2019 22:48

I can't believe you are paying that much per month for tv?
I just pay for Netflix which is about £8 a month. Plus super fast broadband which is probably £45.

Mummylife2018 · 21/01/2019 22:58

I don’t understand this... I pay £30 per month for every channel (except movies & sports) on Sky Q (only one box), broadband and landline with anytime extra (18 month contract). Why are some of you paying so much?

DustyMaiden · 21/01/2019 23:02

I was paying £114. I cancelled, now I’m paying £26 for everything including sports, not movies and £20 for broadband.
Saving £60 per month.

DustyMaiden · 21/01/2019 23:04

You get a good deal but they sneak the price up over the years

Linnet · 21/01/2019 23:07

£39.50 a month for the entertainment package. No movies no sports. We get our broadband elsewhere.

shelikesemwithamoustache · 21/01/2019 23:10

We pay £30 for fibre optic broadband, phone, all channels apart from movies and sports. When you’re up for renewal of your contract, phone them and say you’re leaving. Get a leaving date. Then wait. They will always phone you back about a week or two before you get cut off. At that point say the price you want to pay. If they don’t agree, hold your nerve and be prepared to put the phone down. They will usually phone you back again a few days later and offer you the price you quoted. You need to hold your nerve and be prepared to leave.
