Wreck maybe we could do a frugaleer bulk order and get a discount. LOL!

Bornlazy · 19/10/2018 19:47

Wreck I have lots of people I buy for at Christmas too. I think it was about 30 the last time I counted, obviously those people either buy for me or my children in return. Sometimes I wish it could all just stop but I am a wimp and haven’t had the cull I’d hoped for this year yet.

I am working this weekend and Mon, Tue so that’s 4 shifts in a row ( 12hrs) 😩 My legs will be killing me come Tuesday night. Have a nice frugal weekend everyone.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/10/2018 20:06

Em I put the powdered peanut butter in my prawn stir fry this evening le yum Smile

Born that sounds like tough going work wise

ememem84 · 19/10/2018 20:17

lonely I’d agreed the paint samples so it wasn’t a complete dh decision. And I’d shown him what I wanted for our room. This is sort of it. Grey walls, navy curtains (blackout. Lined) blush pink accents, white bedding. So it was the grey dh chose. It goes well with the pinky tones grey carpet.

If I’m honest I told him it was this or nothing. This is where I put both feet down.

The spare room will be a similar grey (eventually) white bedding, wooden furniture and mustard pillows etc. Navy curtains.

I have a mouth ulcer on my tongue the size of a 5p. Gin is working wonders. Am in bed. With a g&t watching repeats of friends on Netflix.

Ds exhausted. He is also amazing. He stood up completely unsupported for 30 seconds earlier. Admittedly he was in the bath then he fell and hit his mouth. But still. 30 seconds unsupported standing. Clever boy. I am so proud of him. 💙💙💙

He “helped” dh paint. And supervised everything today. And then came to pick me up from work. He rang the office doorbell and he was let in. He crawled about had cuddles with loads of people and had a spin in my chair. Super helpful. So happy.

Anyone got any mouth ulcer tips? Aside from corsodyl, bonjella (which I do have now) and salt. Colleague said just rub salt into it. I’ve gargled with salt water and clove oil.

My dgrandma said mouth ulcers were a way of wickedness coming out. I must have been hella wicked:..

Em you need ambesol liquid. Ulcers suck.

Born it's so hard isn't it? My dad and step mum would definitely say 'oh don't get us anything' but they do so much for us. It's also the thinking about what to get people that stresses me out!

ememem84 · 19/10/2018 20:30

wreck they do. I’ve had something similar previously. And they were all down in my throat. Stress. Stress does this. That time I had to get acne medicine from the dr. Apparently same virus.

Anyhoo. Will grab some anbesol tomorrow. Can’t get to the open pharmacy now. Neither me nor dh are fit to drive. Neither of us are drunk. But he’s had 2 beers and I’m a gin and a half into two gins.

Annoyingly if we’d moved into our place by now the other late night pharmacy is a short walk away. Grrr.

WreckTangled · 19/10/2018 20:32

I think I remember when you had them before actually. Can you remember what the dr gave you? Might be something you can buy?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/10/2018 20:32

I use a paste called oral base on mouth ulcers, forms a seal so that it can heal.

House sounds fab

SenescentLeaves · 19/10/2018 20:56

Tcp works a treat on mouth ulcers too. Sorry to hear about the huge one. That really does not sound like fun.

Cagliostro · 19/10/2018 21:28

Ulcers are shit. I used to have rinstead tablets when I was young but I’m not sure they did anything other than taste bizarrely pleasant. I use Corsodyl now.

Pharmacist said the mouth blister is thrush and the foot rash is an allergy Confused anyway she’s same as yesterday now, grumpy and spotty but ok. Blisters are coming and going.

We watched EWFL. On watching the first bit in the supermarket, DD piped up “they’re just like Amy’s (on Big Bang Theory) parents. The mum isn’t letting the dad have a say in anything” 😳😂

My friend showed me how to “wear” baby on my back yesterday and wreck I’m getting quite good at the superman lift! However although the carrier I have is comfy for both front and back, it needs a lot of adjusting in between. And me being me I’m getting in a right flap about it 😖 and when my hands are sore it just plain hurts to fiddle around with it. So I’m thinking, unfrugally, of getting a different carrier for back carries. 🙄

Forgot to say I agree seacow on screen time, we limit it. It’s really a fantastic resource for home ed but it is not the be all and end all. It is a completely different situation now, they are so user friendly that there’s no worry about being “behind”. It’s scary how enticing they are - I am barely getting any decent photos of baby ATM because she already knows when mummy holds up the iPad/phone there’s a picture of a baby on it, and she comes to try and find it 😳

WreckTangled · 19/10/2018 21:31

Yes you're right cag it does need a lot of adjusting on the shoulder straps. Hmm thrush doesn't usually appear as a blister does it? Also you would both need treating if it was...

Cagliostro · 19/10/2018 21:38

I really didn’t think it was thrush TBH. Also the friend who was here yesterday has had thrush with both her BF babies several times and said it looked nothing like it (I never had it with the other two) and nope I don’t have any signs either. TBH I’m not worried as she’s doing ok but if it’s still a problem on Monday then I’ll ring the GP I think.

LonelyOversharer · 19/10/2018 21:41

em thats ok then! The colours in the pic are lovely. Too sophisticated for me, my house is purple, blue and turquoise! I'll grow up one day... I do love dove grey and raf uniform blue with a blush pink. Maybe it is time for a change. My bedroom is certainly looking extremely sad at the moment.

Ok, so what colour(s) shall I paint a "tween" room? Girls, 12 and 10.5? It's currently pale pink/sky blue/bonding plaster. They cannot compromise, and other than half the room being navy blue, and half bright sparkly unicorn vomit, I'm at a loss. Left to me, it will be purple, blue or turquoise (see a theme?).

ememem84 · 19/10/2018 21:45

I’m watching lip sync battle on youtube. And also listening to music.
Current tune - me and Julio.

ememem84 · 19/10/2018 21:48

Also despacito. This is my current karaoke song. I can sing it in Spanish. It’s always fun to pull that out the bag.

Other kareoke songs are Jolene and total eclipse of the heart. I like a belter.

ememem84 · 19/10/2018 21:48

I can also do gangnam style. In Korean. That’s hilarious to throw out.

Em if you keep getting them on your tongue has the go ruled out glossitis - big raw sore patches on tongue? I had a liquid that helped soothe when mine was really bad

Parking has gone up £15 for 5 hours extortion! Dinner was £53 for the two of us and £7 for drinks at the arena

Wolfcub · 19/10/2018 23:10

Lonely what about a neutral wall and then navy and unicorn vomit soft furnishings?

WreckTangled · 20/10/2018 03:40

Awake again. Since 2:30 🙄

ememem84 · 20/10/2018 07:09

wolf I actually rarely get them. I must be super run down at present. Which isn’t surprising given the stress of house buying work and ds being sick. Also I changed my aligners on Wednesday and they’re rubbing against my tongue. Must find the wax dh bought.

It’s quiet here. I think everyone is still sleeping.

Wolfcub · 20/10/2018 07:15

Wreck I hope you managed to get back to sleep after posting
Ds has contact this morning so I need to get up to take him. I do not want to get out of bed and he was still awake at midnight so will not be happy about being woken up

Happy frugal Saturday everyone.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2018 07:47

I didn't get back to sleep until 4:30 but ds has only just woken us up and dd is still in bed so I don't mind so much!

Wolf hope contact isn't too awful. Is it in a centre? You don't have to answer.

We're going to see pil's later. They live in a really nice place with a harbour etc so that'll be nice.

SenescentLeaves · 20/10/2018 07:51

Wreck I love that you said "You don't have to answer." One of the things I find hard about forums is having the sense not to answer sometimes. It would help so much if we put this line in the opening post at the top of each thread.

I'm glad you got back to sleep.

Good luck today Wolf.

We have a quiet day planned here I think. After the discussion of screen time yesterday we have switched to "watching" CBeebies with the screen turned off as though it was the radio, and it's really quite nice, and very restful on the eyes.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/10/2018 07:52

Dc are awake in their room but staying there, I've been up to wipe ds's bum already Hmm he's almost 5, could certainly do it himself but doesn't.

Today I'm going to town which is always spendy.
Halloween Smilepay property tax bill for the year. This also includes h's mothers house that he & dsd & family live in, they can take care of 2019 themselves! €146 owed on ours & €60 on that house plus €1 per house for paying at post office.
Halloween Smilebreakfast out with dc so will need to pay some parking - I may park at cheapest place meaning we get a walk in too
Halloween Smileneed clothes line (must measure) and clothes pegs
Halloween SmileWool for jumper dm is going to knit for me
Halloween Smilebirthday cards for my Nan & uncle
Halloween Smilesmall gifts perhaps from dealz
Halloween Smilesmall grocery shop (meal plan & list)
Visit Nan & dm - home for 6pm so dc can go to h's, ds says he doesn't want to go.

Em are you karaoke queen like seacow?

Supposed to be going out for a bite to eat with friends tonight if ds doesn't go this ain't going to happen so I'm reluctant to commit to it, plus I went to bed with a swirly tummy last night too & my glands are quite swollen too.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2018 07:57

Mammy ds still doesn't wipe his own bum at home because (I quote) 'eugh that's disgusting!' 🤣 I'm sure I won't be doing it still when he's 25 so I'm not too worried.
