Lonely good luck for today.

Not too spend yesterday - spent about £3 in Tesco on rich tea biscuits, marmalade, washing up liquid and sprinkles for baking with DS, but no other spends.

Chilled out Saturday planned today and MIL is coming over for the morning. Might go for a walk in the afternoon depending when she heads home. Next week will be more spendy and busy given it’s my birthday, my mum’s birthday and my sister’s birthday too!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 11/08/2018 10:08

€23.91 on 4 packs of 48 name labels 2 sets for my 2 dc and 2 for my friends dc, she's been a great support to me while all this was going on with H. I paid the €7.98 for her dc's labels from my own account. Got £1.44 topcashback on these too.

Girlie have a great holiday
Wolf enjoy festival
Em even when you're finished packing there's still more to pack, I'm dreading that part if/when I move Shock

ScandiLady · 11/08/2018 10:15

My greatgrandmother called and asked for help with the drains. We had massive rain thunder and lightning yesterday night and apparently her drains has cluttered. I have sent dh to do the task Grin none of us can be bothered doing grocery today so aiming for nsd

CurlsandCurves · 11/08/2018 10:16

Good luck for today lonely.

Have a fab holiday girlie!

Nothing much going on here today, might take the boys for their pre holiday haircut. I honestly cannot remember when they last had it cut, they look such a mess!

First world problem for me going on. I have a natural weakness in the nail on my index finger, you can see a small line going all the way down the nail. Anyway it has split, to about a third of the way down my nail, disaster! I’m having my nails done on weds and she says she can fix it. So until then I’m piling on the nail glue and avoiding using said finger, lol.

Laska5772 · 11/08/2018 10:20

we have DGS here , so going out somewhere maybe to local carnival or perhaos just a beach walk / pebble hunting picnic .. but so far ive spent £45 grabbing something I had been wanting to get from Hush that came back in stock..
Yes, jam im still doing it , Grin

Actually flexi retirement and working p/t 3 days (still my old job) has worked out well for me. I am actually bringing home more !. However I have started up new pension saving plan again and am now going to put in half my work wages (or it may end up being 2/3rd but ill monitor it in the next couple of months to see how I am managing) to keep tax down and save a bit more )

ChristmasSeacow · 11/08/2018 10:21

Good luck today Lonely and happy birthday Cake

We’re off to Skara Brae today- we’ve been saving it for this weekend! DS is really overwrought and was a nightmare again yesterday - so just the one place to visit today and a short day of sightseeing, I hope he will calm down a bit. That’s assuming he even agrees to get out of the car - he wouldn’t yesterday and had a meltdown every time the engine stopped and the music stopped. £30 top up in Tesco on the way back, including £15 on a speaker so we can play the iPod in the car without the car battery Hmm

Was raining earlier but now it’s sunny and windy again!

ememem84 · 11/08/2018 10:30

curls I think you can save nails by using a bit of teabag and some superglue.... have a look on Pinterest or YouTube...

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 11/08/2018 10:38

Happy Birthday Lonely. Don't take it personally if the bank say no, it's just business.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2018 11:23

Quite Is this the antihistamine you use? www.hotukdeals.com/deals/loratadine-066-1m-479-6m-or-875-1yr-use-code-freedelivery-pharmacyfirst-3010565

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/08/2018 11:26

Quiet day here. DD2 woke at 6am covered in sick. Was fine until 10.30 and was then ill again, just when we were thinking we might be able to go out later.

Currently emptying more boxes from the loft. Most of it is going to the dump.

Hoping for a NSD

ememem84 · 11/08/2018 11:48

Good luck love

I’ve just dumped 6 old pillows. The rule is that we don’t leave the house without taking a bag or box or something to the bin or charity shop.

Have left dh at home with ds. I’m now at the stables then at stopping at the shop for snacks. Today will be a snacky day. Tea biscuits crispies chocolate. Sustenance for packing.

SnugglySnerd · 11/08/2018 12:26

Happy birthday Lonely!

Thanks for all he kind comments yesterday. Feeling much better today. Have taken 3 bags of stuff to the charity shop then did top up shop at Aldi and the greengrocers. Went in the Works for more storage boxes and the guy on the till gave me 15% off. He didn't explain why but I'm not complaining! Going to get put in the sunshine and fresh air when the dts wake up.

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/08/2018 13:20

DD2 is currently bouncing on the trampoline in the rain. You'd never believe she was unwell earlier. Given her a tiny bit of lunch to see if it stays down.

CurlsandCurves · 11/08/2018 13:26

Love your poor dd, hope she’s feeling better soon.

Extra expense I wasn’t planning for. I knew DS1’s trackie bottoms that he lives in were looking a bit snug. He’s not worn them for a couple of weeks and now they are skin tight! He goes to a non uniform school and we’ve only got a few days once back from hols before he goes back, so I’ve just ordered a couple of pairs to keep him going. And at the grand old age of 13 he’s now in men’s sizes, so the price has ramped up!

Flappyjack · 11/08/2018 13:27

girlie I've always found unplanned nights out are the best.

lonely good luck. It would be a nice birthday present if they say yes.

DH has the washing machine in bits and reckons it'll cost him £35.00 to fix. He is just double checking.

Feed and weed has gone onto the front lawn today and I am debating going to the poundshop for dehumidifying crystals for DS1's wardrobe.

Spends £65.51 Tesco and I had a voucher for 10p off per litre of fuel with it which I will use in a week or so. I think you have to spend £60.00 though.

Wrongwayup · 11/08/2018 13:28

Laska mentioned pension. Can I ask what provisions you all have. Am a bit panicking about mine. Also when I first read these threads there was a poster called something like Electrolux who seemed in a bad place. I hope things got better for her. Does anyone know if they did? Don't want to out her if she is still on mn so nothing specific. Just think about her sometimes

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2018 13:34

I remember her, she was waiting for an inheritance to come through.

ScandiLady · 11/08/2018 13:56

wrong my job pays 17% of my monthly wages amount into a pension scheme and i pay 3 per cent making it 20 % in total. If i retire at normal rate I'll be at the same income as now so now drop. Dh is almost the same, he also has a private pension scheme where he invest for fun so he should be slightly better of on pension than current wages.
I feel like spending money Blush but trying to persist.

LonelyOversharer · 11/08/2018 14:43

Hello! Well, the bank didn't say no. At all. It is all going to be ok I think. They were willing to lend me the money, unsecured, at 14% apr - which was a suprise in itself. What I'm actually going to do is get a small mortgage. Agreed in principal. 5yr fixed rate. Whoooopppeee! (small in house buyers therms. Huge in naughty bad debt terms).

I'm super good with this, as there is no way in hell that I will lose my house. Plus It will be a lot less than I pay now (and about 25k less interest overall). We even talked about savings ffs going forward!!

Back next week to do the full application (had been there 2 hours, my ears were bleeding by then). But I'll be able to overpay and everything. Upgraded my current account (free) to get a better rate, plus I'll get interest on my balance in the account. Every penny and all that.

I must just say, the staff in Lloyds could not have been nicer. I was a jibbery wreck when I got there. The lady I spoke to was either suprised or impressed that I knew so much detail about my debt and expenditure!

Thanks for the birthday wishes

£28 lidl on lunch treats (my choice!) £12 The range (pretty papers to make tiny boxes with).
Dp got me a bottle of Daisy Dream Forever, just what I asked for. It smells divine.

ememem84 · 11/08/2018 14:48

lonely yaaaas!!! So happy for you xxx

Re pensions - I try and pay 10-15% into my pension a year. Work don’t pay in. They don’t have to here. Plus it’s a private one.
I have a regular saver account with my bank (Hsbc) which pays 5% at the end of 12 months. I put £250 into it every month. At the end of the period the money gets paid out and I pay that into my pension along with any bonus money I might get.

Been riding and to the shop £18. I bought reeses pieces, two cans of Pringles some popcorn and a bottle of wine. A super nice bottle of villa Maria. This is our last Saturday night here. So we deserve it!

BreatheSlower · 11/08/2018 14:52

Well done Lonely that's brilliant. Welcome to the 42 bench. We're just next door cheering you on. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2018 15:13

Well done lonely, you've got a brilliant deal there. All debt free in 5 years too. Imagine the relief of being able to tell those credit cards to fuck off. If you over pay at the same rate your paying the cc would you be debt free in half the time?.

£8 gourmet cat food. He's licking the jelly off the aldi one so I have to assume they've changed the recipe again.

ScandiLady · 11/08/2018 15:17

Well done lonely

ScandiLady · 11/08/2018 15:17
