A client of mine has a place in deia in Mallorca. It’s heavenly.

Benidorm is good too actually. Stag parties and hen parties galore and some parts are admittedly like the tv show. But the old towns quiet and fantastic. Accommodation is cheap. And food is great.

(I’ve said it before though - if you want cheap holidays tel aviv is a good shout - sun. Beach. Cheap. Beautiful. Food. )

ScandiLady · 07/08/2018 21:25

em do you speak French?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/08/2018 21:26

bandit piles of cats sounds amazing. Dd2 would be in her element she's going to grow up to be a unicorn and cat farmer....

scandi those should be fine but be aware they won't have the same safety/fire regs testing as our toys/dress up clothes.

Spent nothing else today which is good, sold lots on eBay which I will drop off at myhermes point tomorrow afternoon on the way to the library. Went to a friend's house and chatted while the girls played. Dd2 wasn't hungry today (which is practically unheard of) and been quite tearful, says she has a tummy ache so may be coming down with something.

laska we are coming to the isle of Wight at the end of the month. Dds have never been and I have fond childhood memories.

My dc haven't been abroad, and there's no chance in near future. We saved for ages for legoland, I think chessington is next on the list!

ememem84 · 07/08/2018 21:28

scandi I can. Not very well. But I can make myself understood. I get by.

The official language here is English. but all our road names are in French. And our laws are French (the old ones anyway). But we’re a British island. Self governing for the most part. But Queenie is the head. We have pound notes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/08/2018 21:29

We are in Majorca this year for the second time. Puerto pollensa - it's lovely, family friendly and only a 2 hour flight

ememem84 · 07/08/2018 21:29

nobutts great career options! Love it!

I’d also like piles of cats. That sounds rather lovely.

Wolfcub · 07/08/2018 21:30

Life that’s where I’ve just come back from

QuiteCleanBandit · 07/08/2018 21:31

Flappyjack · 07/08/2018 21:31

Laska I went to the Isle of Wight as a kid and I had a uni friend from there who swore it was beautiful. I have also heard great things about Jersey em, didn't realize it used to be attached to France.

sunny did you like Florence? I very much fancy going there and everywhere else in Italy.

I used to have terrible itchy feet and never felt settled until we bought our house. Wonder if its coming back.

Bananas 49p per bag in Tesco. I bought three bags with weekly shop. One for eating, one for flapjacks (made) and two loaves of vegan banana bread (tomorrow) a la bbc good food recipe.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/08/2018 21:31

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/08/2018 21:33

ScandiLady · 07/08/2018 21:33

nocut thank you Flowers think Ill jist try finding them a sale here instead...

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 21:33

We used to get feral cats playing chess in the carpark outside our church on Sunday morning. Everybody parked at the same time and then for those of us who were handing out the books at the door, it was easy to see as each feral cat took up its post on a newly parked warm engine. One cat per car. I liked that.

life yeah fritid is kinda like fun. Its all spare time activities, hobby stuff, gifts, toys, clothes.

Bornlazy · 07/08/2018 21:38

Scandi I had to google the currency of Denmark because for a minute there I thought you were spending an absolute fortune Grin

Laska5772 · 07/08/2018 21:44

Yep they are a long way apart, and Jersey is much further south and west .. 22 mins is the fastest ferry to IOW and the Hovercraft 10 mins .. Car ferries about 45 /50mins depending which one..

IOW is only 5miles from the south coast at the widest point of the .

It is lovely , (but also is not in places, depends where you go).
I'm lucky enough to live on the far south west of the island and its a stunning coastline .

I adore Jersey though and its definitely more lovely overall than here! ( esp the food!)

ScandiLady · 07/08/2018 21:48

born Grin sorry should have remembered to point that out.
We do spend a fortune I think. Our prices are in general higher than the UK (vat is 25%) and we pay more in tax. But I think our wages overall is also higher so prob evens out.

Wolfcub · 07/08/2018 21:49

Fluffy I bloody love suit pastry

Laska5772 · 07/08/2018 21:52

...and you all have such stylish and warm homes scandi - if our relatives are anything to go by . Love Danish design (and Danish food, and Danish hospitality). We always have such a great time when we go , and if i could I'd bring back a whole house-worth of furniture and homeware ! Smile

Wolfcub · 07/08/2018 22:08
