Is egg and homemade chips the best tea ever?

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/05/2018 19:12

Yes it is

ememem84 · 07/05/2018 19:16

quite I really hope it’s nothing serious. I’m suspecting maybe a bad cold mild flu. I’m still suffering myself but have had to just get on with it.

I have just done a sinus rinse though as was sick of blowing out green and a good lump of stuff fell out my nose. I do hope it wasn’t my brain. If it was we’re all fucked. Haha!

Dh is bathing ds. He’s just asked what needs to be done tomorrow while he’s off. I’ve given him this list:

  • ds at Nursery (if he’s going - dh is off so may decide not to send him or send him for reduced hours) so bag bottles clothes
  • bathrooms cleaned and restocked
  • hoover floors
  • laundry - washing machine emptied hung up new load put on dry stuff away
  • food shop (with obligatory meal plan)
  • tidy house.

Not much.

My jobs are (aside from work)

  • take proof of address to pension people
  • make pension payment
  • give new tax rate to accounts lady at work
  • pay plumber
  • go to gym after work

Is your MIL staying with you Em, and if so, have you considered just having all three of you (You, dh and ds) move to a hotel and leave her in the house, in the interests of saving your marriage and your husband's dignity?

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/05/2018 19:18

You could make it a very nice hotel, to save your dignity too. LOL!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/05/2018 19:20

I can't do chips. I knew I'd stuffed it up when he said they looked like his mums.

ememem84 · 07/05/2018 19:27

sunny no thank goodness! She’s staying with friends. That’s the plan anyway. We only have a two bed apartment and both rooms are occupied.

Wolfcub · 07/05/2018 19:51

Meal plan for late next week/week after and shopping order done. Em I like your jobs list

wolf I read that as gammon in cake!

Wolfcub · 07/05/2018 19:56

Em that may just be a step too far even for me and I’m willing to put almost anything in cake Grin

SnugglySnerd · 07/05/2018 20:17

Meadow I had an inexpensive Mothercare own-brand electric steriliser and it did the job fine.
Also buy the posh Lanisoh breast pads. They were the only ones that didn't leak or itch. They are more expensive but worth it. Once past the first few weeks of very leaky boobs I switched to the washable ones which are much softer and more cost-effective. Also absolutely do not allow a disposable breast pad get mixed up with your laundry. Or a nappy. Big mess on both occasions!

ememem84 · 07/05/2018 20:24

meadow second snugglys advice re breast pads. I bought loads of boots own ones and man they itched. Lanisoh ones are way better. Take advantage of boots offers. Have you joined their parenting club? You’ll get buckets of points if you buy nappies there!

Omfg. I am watching criminal minds catch up. Episode 13. Clowns under the bed. Ffs. Why. Do. I. Watch. This. Shit.

ChristmasSeacow · 07/05/2018 21:33

Dad passed away this evening. The day after Granny. A pretty shit weekend, all in all.

CremeEggThief · 07/05/2018 21:34

NSD here.

Do they still do the small sterilisers for the microwave? They might be an option, if you only intend to use bottles for a couple of feeds a day. That's what I used once I started mix feeding my DS, after 6 months, but the steriliser was also handy for the very few bottles of expressed breast milk DS had when he was younger.

CremeEggThief · 07/05/2018 21:34

Wrongwayup · 07/05/2018 21:45

So sorry Christmas. I have had a double bereavement. The double whammy is incomprehensible to most people. You may find a lot of people have no idea what to say so say nothing to you. Which hurts. X
