Sea I am so sorry Flowers this is such a lot to happen for your mum and you and your sisters all at once. My thoughts are with you and all your family

LonelyOversharer · 06/05/2018 11:19

seacow Flowers sending you love xx Your poor mum, this is just bloody awful for all of you. I don't know what to say, but I'm thinking of you.

em you changed the wifi password? Too right. If he's too poorly to parent, he's too porly for netflix. If you know you are parenting solo then the resentment goes away, you just get on with it. Being on your own with a wee one is exhausting. Ok, we'd not change it for the world, but it is still tiring, mentally as well as physically. Lets hope that once mil has been and gone he pulls his head out of his whatsit and remembers he has a wife and child.

Been digging outside. It is a bit hot. I am not complaining, but phew! I have prised open the greenhouse windows (it's a bit squint as I built it).

wreck I recon about half of my bedroom hoard can go. I just have to sort it through. I have clothes ranging from a size 8 to a 14, aged between 1 and 20 years, so yes, a massive cull is required. The craft stuff is harder to chuck, as it might always be useful Hmm

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2018 11:21

Goodness Christmas. What a time you are all having. I'm so sorry to hear that. Take care there and love to your Mum. She must really be working hard there. Flowers

Also thanks for the offer of your tiara. Smile tempted

Girlie I do think you're right, it is easy to get lost in parenthood. I think ds was in reception when I was first in the frugaleers, as I remember telling you about his epic 1 month long scarlet fever and all that stuff. Time has moved on and we are gradually getting better. Thanks goodness. Ds's language has come on so much this week, it's really strange. He always has a huge language leap just around his birthday.

ememem84 · 06/05/2018 11:23

Dis and I rang dsis. She’s coming out to play. Yippee. I’m at dparents Now waiting for her. Drum thibks I should be home mopping dh’s brow. And thinks I’m awful for even contemplating going out without him.
Have told her she’s more than welcome to go in for brow mopping.

Dh has Found out I’ve changed the WiFi password. He is raging. Mostly because a) he doesn’t know how to and b) he now can’t chill and watch films.

I’ve very clearly told him that I am sick too. I don’t get a break. I have to carry on. So I am. Enjoy his day alone. I’ll see him after dinner.

Bornlazy · 06/05/2018 11:24

So sorry seacow. Your poor mum Flowers

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2018 11:27

It's a weird thing that Em how the blokes just stop parenting when they're ill. I get a particularly tough run of that because I'm a stay at home Mum, so I'm not perceived to be "Working" during the day, even though for years I was working constantly both day and night. The whole things of never getting to stop as a parent is a definite problem.

CremeEggThief · 06/05/2018 11:56

Sorry Seacow. Thinking of you and your family. XXX

SeaFlowers

Unescorted · 06/05/2018 13:16

sea I am so sorry to hear that. It is such a rough patch for you at the moment.

I have been to the tip with a boot full of garden. I got some very strange looks when I changed into my site boots. I drew the line at hard hat and Hi Vis. I was amazed at the things people throw out. One person was chucking our a perfectly good dining suite and another glazed pots..... It was a shame skip diving is not allowed.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 06/05/2018 13:40

Unescorted I can't understand people throwing out items that are perfectly good just because they don't want them, isn't it as easy drop them to a charity shop as tip?
A charity shop in town seems to be selling more and more furniture too so will check that out when our separation becomes official too. I was admiring glazed pots(I don't garden Confused) in Aldi yesterday but I'm loathe to buy anything at all until separation is sorted. So I'm listing things in a notebook that came as a freebie with my vitamins this week for when time comes that we live separately.
Pic attached - it's perfectly apt for me right now Grin

Today I've cleaned half my fridge, made mini cheesecakes in little glass pots using end jar lemon curd, end of pot of 0% Greek yogurt, biscuit base was leftover from a cheesecake a few weeks ago and dcs are made with some mini muller corners that they weren't bothered with. I also found some Bolognese which I'll make into lasagne for freezer later.
Dinner will be homemade pizzas using wraps, and end of a pizza sauce tub.

Did a shopping list & reorganised the freezer.

Soon I'll get dressed and go for a walk by canal in town before doing the shopping.

H has taken dc out for the day, to get passport photos done and go to playground.

He wants to garden tomo so I'm free today.

My dc are in the paddling pool. It's so lovely and warm. We're having a bbq for dinner but just sausages as it's only us. None of my neighbours are in their gardens. Weirdos.

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/05/2018 13:49

So so sorry seacow Flowers

Sat in my shorts in the garden 😎 DP is painting the bit of wall that is a different colour to the rest of the room where the wardrobe once was.

Tomorrow DP and I have an exciting date planned whilst the DDs are at PIL. Carpet, furniture and paint shopping 😂 It will be spendy but planned for. I am a little excited about these purchases though! Hoping to sneak in lunch together with no children too. Time without children is planned like a military operation here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/05/2018 13:49

£30 on footy hoody. Ds' team got to the cup final so it's for then.

Pondering a car boot next week or just sack it off and charity shop.,..

We’ve been out with dsis. Walk around the Manor House (membership has now paid for itself) and lunch in the herb garden £10 for a prawn sandwich and some chips a lemonade and a Diet Coke. Ds had a fruity pot. Mmm.

Dh is (I assume) still at home. We haven’t been back to check.

Wolfcub · 06/05/2018 14:28

We made it out, then immediately came home as ds chucked an almighty wobbly. Two hours driving and £3 parking.

MrsOH2004 · 06/05/2018 14:35

Your garden is massive Wreck!!

So sorry about your gran Seacow Flowers

Nsd day today and work at 4pm.

I had a frugal win the other day, my mum's friend came round with a black bag full of t-shirts and shorts, so Ds is nearly kitted out for the holiday, a couple of pairs of black Next skinny jeans which he loves, the clothes have barely been worn so I'm very happy.

WreckTangled · 06/05/2018 14:37

Mrs I'm sitting half way down it! We're lucky, it's one of the old style council houses so although the house is small the garden is massive.

Wolf I'm sorry you've had a rubbish day with ds I can't imagine how tough this is for you both

WreckTangled · 06/05/2018 14:38

Em I love you Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 06/05/2018 14:48

Em changing WiFi password is normally on heard about for petulant spoilt teenagers but I guess your dh is meeting a few of the criterion today Grin

Wreck are your neighbours gone to the beach or indoors? Your children have sprouted up Star

I had a lovely slimbo with chicken hummus spinach and philly light, fridge may be almost bare but still able to make a tasty lunch Grin

Last night after dropping my friends home I made myself chips and sausages in air fryer & ate them in bed Grin frugal vs chipper & extra tasty in bed Grin

Wolf sorry to hear that, is he reacting to yesterday's contact or separate issue? What age is he sorry I forget.

MrsOH2004 · 06/05/2018 14:57

My Mum's and Dad's garden is big too but looking at yours Wreck I'd say yours is bigger, how long does it take to cut the grass.

WreckTangled · 06/05/2018 14:58

Hmm not sure. Takes dh about forty minutes to do back and front I think. It's not that big but bigger than modern ones. I'll take a pic in a sec

WreckTangled · 06/05/2018 15:01

Here...

Mammy no they're all in! One side are out now but that's it. I'm addicted to humous yum!

wolf your poor boy. I hope your day can be salvaged with some sitting in the sun.

wreck love your pics! No matter how big my dc get, they will allways slide into a paddling pool. Love your lawn. My house is like that too, ex council on a decent plot. Would swap 30% of my garden for an extra bedroom and loo though.

em you are fab! I'm glad you and ds are having a lovely day.

Have bailed as am too tired to dig now. And my greenhouse is too hot to potter in. Burgers for tea in homemade rolls, but I'll do them under the grill. Then dd1 wants her draws built up. Is letting them build their own flatpack a good life skill?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/05/2018 15:13

seacow am so sorry to hear that, sending lots of love to you all.

wreck your garden is amazing! It must be 4 times the size of mine!

We have had a stressful morning as boycats poorly, I found him collapsed in the garden this morning. Rushed him down the vets who ran some bloods, they think it's a severe infection as white blood cells v high. Anyway that's cost me £130 which was not budgeted for, I may be able to claim on insurance will investigate. He has perked up a bit bless him.
