Seacow I am so sad reading your posts, I can't imagine how hard it is for you Thanks your thoughts on carers allowance are just the same as my friends! It's not like he can go to regular holiday clubs etc in the school holidays so you need to be at home and carers allowance is exactly for situations like this.

WreckTangled · 02/04/2018 20:19

Em please just call her fanny and tell her you want ds to be bilingual Grin

ememem84 · 02/04/2018 20:23

Ha! I’ll tell her I know what it means and that it’s a derogatory term. And if she’s happy for me to call her that then that’s fine. We’re all in agreement. Ha! granny fanny

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2018 20:30

Does her other grandchild call her whores fanny too?.

happytobemrsg · 02/04/2018 21:03

Is it too late to join this thread? Aim is to have as many NSDs as possible & so far I haven't spent anything in April (sounds impressive until you remember it's only the 2nd April...)

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2018 21:15

It’s never too late MrsG

ChristmasSeacow · 02/04/2018 21:15

Oh Wreck you are lovely! I don’t mean to be miserable - I’m actually not, in general. Sad about dad but I realise that everyone goes through this loss at some stage, unfortunately this is just our time. We just have to get through it and hope for a comfortable end for dad. I’m a little apprehensive about the future re. DS and what that means for work / finances, but actually day to day I’m not miserable. DS is a gorgeous funny and loving boy when not being a naughty little s**t . I’d give him the power of fluent speech if I could but I wouldn’t change him ❤️

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 21:27

Happytobe this is a rolling thread so it's never too late to join, welcome aboard the frugaleer train. I'm on my second NSD for April too, didn't leave the house yesterday and dinner today was paid for by a voucher Grin

Seacow sorry to hear that about your ddad, what a tough day for all of you, he's a very practical man isn't he?

Definitely apply for carers allowance, your ds needs your care x Thanks

Laska I've got cook at home spare ribs in the fridge I'll share with you if you give me some Chinese fried rice? Easter Wink

I've been out for dinner & it was disappointing, my first time ever being disappointed in that restaurant. I would've thought it was just me as I was tired but my friend got the lasagne too and also thought it was very dry. Ds was acting up and sat on my lap the entire time, except for when he locked himself into a cubicle and wouldn't get off toilet to unlock door as he was afraid the poo would fall out of his bum in the process Easter Hmm

WreckTangled · 02/04/2018 21:33

Mammy I'm sorry but the story of your ds made me Easter GrinEaster Grin my ds won't wipe his own bum because he say it's disgusting Easter Confused ok for me to do it though (good job I love him)

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/04/2018 22:05

Thanks Fluffy
Just need to be patient Sainsburys they go on next day

em Oh crikey !
Cant help thinking it would be a disaster if DS calls her that in a few years time 🙈and your DP inform her what it actually means Grin

Cagliostro · 02/04/2018 22:32

Much decluttering done today. Tesco ordered. Lots of extra bits as DD needs supplies for dance shows and rehearsal day, and at the weekend DH needs portable gluten free stuff as he is doing a 24hr run again 🙄🙄🙄
Spends
£4 upgrading an app (screen time monitor... eek)
£14 takeaway. Really enjoyed it but got such a headache after :(

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 22:40

Lonely I can assure you I wasn't laughing GrinGrin AngryAngry but explains his crankiness before hand, he gets a bit like that when he needs to go for some reason, maybe he's in pain.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/04/2018 23:05

scarlet I'm also on slimming world, lost 2 and half stone and have 5lbs to target! I do the majority of my shopping in Lidl- they do funsize fruit which if u buy 3 packs you get 20% off. Frozen fruit for porridge from Tesco or Iceland. I also follow pinch of nom on Facebook for lots of nice recipes. Meal planning is key for me and making extra meals for the freezer. I always have a chilli, mushy pea curry, soup and sheperds pie in there as my go to quick meals. Also a bag of quorn sausages and frozen vegetables. I buy potatoes by the sack from local greengrocer as they are cheaper :)

CremeEggThief · 02/04/2018 23:09

Glad your dad's visit went well, Seacow. 80 minutes each way is a long drive.

Yikes, Em! Your MIL always leaves me speechless!Easter Shock

Kids, eh? Sorry your dinner wasn't great though, Mammy.

Great going, Cag. Keep it up!

Welcome (back) newbies and returners.Easter Smile

NSD. We haven't been out of the house since Thursday now, due to the persistent rain! Must go out tomorrow, come rain or shine, as this is getting ridiculous now.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2018 00:04

Gah, I missed the Tu 25% off! Was just rushing to check out and they took the site offline st 11.55pm. Grr.

That’ll teach me to get distracted.

Wolfcub · 03/04/2018 05:40

Morning all. Persistent rain here too and snow melt. Some roads and some houses are flooded. I’ve told dh to check the cellar not sure he’ll remember though.
Credit card bill more than doubled due to rate change Angry can’t switch just now as I moved some other debts in January so I don’t wAnt loads of applications on my credit file. Have checked and we can afford but means the small gains I thought we would make to put by for high school uniform and suchlike will not happen.
Have a good day frugaleers and welcome to all new and returning members

Wolfcub · 03/04/2018 06:39

Eventful day so far. The car has a total flat so I’ve had to abandon it at home and get a taxi into the city to catch my train. So far £15 on taxi fare and suspect this will be a whole new tyre job, I hit a lump of concrete sticking out of a grass verge on Sunday and suspect that may have been what’s done it.

mammymammyIRL · 03/04/2018 07:30

Wolf what a 💩 start to your day hope it improves.

It's pouring rain here, after shopping has been delivered I'm going to take dc swimming, off peak €20 peak would be €28. My friend & I are to meet, I know she wanted an easy day after being away so she may not fancy swimming so we might call to her house on way home & lunch and lounge about.

Tomorrow going to open farm with two friends & five children between us, it'll cost €20 each and we'll take a picnic with us. I'm delighted as it'll keep me on track.

I must tally receipts from weekend & see what's belonging to joint account and what's belonging to mine & transfer money accordingly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/04/2018 07:46

Sea Well that’s an email to the ceo situation. [email protected]

5 minutes would have been long enough to checkout.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2018 07:50

What a rubbish morning Wolf Confused

I was supposed to be having my new front door fitted today but it’s not come into the depot, so further delays. I am a little annoyed because I’ve cleared the hallway etc. So now I need to move the drawers and coat rack back and await a new date.

Also still raining and I’m on my own with the kids so not really sure we can go anywhere. So probably another boring day at home. It makes me feel a bit guilty not taking them anywhere...

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2018 07:56

Ha ha Fluffy, do you think so?

Cagliostro · 03/04/2018 08:02

Spendy day ahead. DD’s ballet show is at a theatre some way away. Total PITA to get to, and not much else going on in the town. No mall or inside space. Really hope the weather improves, as I’ll have to hang around with DS and the baby for a good few hours while she’s at dress rehearsal! The library will have to be our sanctuary. It’s DH’s turn tomorrow, we are all going to see the matinee but he has to go back and collect her after the evening performance.

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/04/2018 08:02

I've dressed up in my smartest clothes today just for the fun of it. Both top and trousers are ones that I made myself 10 years ago before ds was born. I feel like the bees knees in them. If I have pneumonia tomorrow, you'll know why. LOL!

Christmas Take care there. We are thinking of you here.

fluffy yep but it’s not a thing in nz where they are. It’s just a funny sounding word!

Looks like it’ll be a nice day today. Ds and I may head out for a walk.
