Sorry to hear your news Love Flowers

needastrongone · 18/01/2018 20:24

love, poor you, poor your dad and poor your mum. Cancer is shit isn't it? Nothing to say to make you feel better I'm afraid.

needastrongone · 18/01/2018 20:52

I suspect we may get on in RL em.

I made a big vat of the soup today as talking about it reminded me I have a glut of sweet potatoes. House smelt of Christmas and frazzled, at a couple of sweet potatoes and oranges as the biggest outlay (assuming you have the spices lurking), it's really frugal.

There's another one I'm going to try at the weekend, winter veg and quinoa, I'll let you know the outcome.

Spends
£16 PT session (i budget for this).
£10 window cleaner.

mammy I hear you on the chickens, I had forgotten them. Least mine are still laying, are yours?

PT helped the hamstring, some very deep stretches that I wouldn't know to do myself. I learn a lot from him actually.

Love so sorry to hear your news Flowers

needastrongone · 18/01/2018 21:37

Get this for a response from school. Emailed a teacher about a small issue at 8.30. Response by 8.50 with 3 alternatives to suit DS and his timetable. She's set an hour aside tomorrow to go through a topic he's struggling with and becoming anxious about. With 2 emails in response. You can't ask for any better can you really?

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 18/01/2018 21:42

love really sorry to hear your news.

I was in Bath today for another training day, it was lovely abd the lunch was a surprise, 3 course sit down meal (pate on fancy bread, salad then a big piece of hog roast type pork on bean stew with purple carrots and squash, then creme brûlée!) with wine!! I was well jeal, my school does not have food like that.
Spent £40 getting there but will claim back, plus £5 on coffees and fruit for breakfast.
Now have 10 mock a level exams to mark Hmm before bed.
I’m being harassed at work by a male “Paula” (if you saw that thread) who constantly asks questions calculated to show how brilliant he is, points out any tiny flaw or typo in anything I do, does parts of my job without asking and keeps asking if I am going to leave. Lord give me strength!

needastrongone · 18/01/2018 22:08

And a further email from another teacher, clearly working at 10pm...

I rarely rarely email school btw, maybe 4 times for both DC combined in all the years they have been at school.

mammymammyIRL · 18/01/2018 22:17

Love Thanks
Need barely laying - 8 hens 6 eggs a week Shock although we decided not to feel only layers pellets to these to give them a better quality of life so that's the price you pay Grin

Your school sounds ace Grin

€2.55 on ketchup & spread
€1 on pencilcase for dd

LonelyOversharer · 18/01/2018 22:29

love Flowers

Only one of my hens is laying. I have 15 girls, and it's the oldest one laying. I feed ours layers pellets, and an "everyday mix" which has all sorts of grains and corn in. Plus all our leftovers, peelings, stale bread, biscuits, bacon fat etc. Everything but poultry. Poor things are knee deep in mud and slush.

needastrongone · 18/01/2018 22:42

Mine are still laying but pretty young, getting 4 eggs a day. Layers pellets and scraps too! I had 7 grapes left today, there was a proper fight on!

I can lie in tomorrow until 7am at least, someone is returning a favour and putting the pony out. This feels like some kind of holiday!!!

mammymammyIRL · 18/01/2018 22:43

It's terrible isn't it lonely ours had collars of mud on their legs a month or so ago that dh had to soak to soften before taking it off.
Ours get layers pellets(small feeder) rolled oats(big feeder) and leftover veg/grains from our house

ShoopShoop · 18/01/2018 23:36

Love Thanks

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/01/2018 06:53

Thank you for all the kind thoughts.

Kind of in limbo for the next week now until my dad’s appointment and what the treatment plan is and likely prognosis.

I have lots of respect for you who go out and look after horses/chickens in miserable weather.

Hoping for a LSD here

Wish me luck, I have to take a potty training DD2 on the school run today Confused . This could be fun.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/01/2018 07:15

I've just logged into my quidco account for the first time in months & they've credited me with £2 "dormant user" credit Confused so I've claimed it as £2.03 Amazon voucher.

I never use them now, they properly stitched mil up when she changed mobile & we both saw the offer & she bought the right phone etc.

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/01/2018 07:17

Really sorry to hear that Love. I hope the doc has good news for you about what can be done.

WreckTangled · 19/01/2018 07:21

Should be a nsd today

mammymammyIRL · 19/01/2018 07:29

NSD here today
fluffy love that you're getting stuff from quidco despite not using them Grin

Wolfcub · 19/01/2018 08:48

Spendy day p!anned. Nails brows and lashes this morning, lunch with Dh and then dinner and drinks with friends.

MeadowHay · 19/01/2018 11:32

Love Flowers Not sure what to say really but I'm sorry to hear your news. Hopefully something can be done about it.

I was supposed to try my first full day at work today - idea being so I had the weekend to rest if it was tough on me - except I was just projectile vomiting after my breakfast so had to go back to bed and call in sick Angry. Hoping to go in this afternoon again as usual but it's still a pain, that's the first time I've vomited since...Saturday or Sunday, so I was really hoping it was over but nope...think it was just the extra exhaustion on the morning that set me off. Still feel queasy and am a bit worried I won't make it in at all but all I can do is try my best. Work are being super about it tbh I couldn't ask for more. Also whoever said about a pregnancy desk assessment thing, I had one yesterday - I complained about my coccyx pain to my manager, who told me to tell HR and ask for adjustments, who then contacted H&S who said they hadn't been notified of my pregnancy and they needed to come and do an assessment. So they did and she's ordered me a coccyx cushion which should arrive on Monday or Tuesday so just another few shifts of pain to get through...

DH has a cold. He gets ill sooo often. I think he was last ill like a month ago? He's already taking vit C, and vit D for the past month as got diagnosed with vit D deficiency. Poor thing. My health's been terrible but I don't even remember the last time I got a cold or virus. Must have been in summer sometime I'd guess. Or possibly even spring!

Love the hen chat. We'd love hens if we were in a house with a garden and are more settled. But not sure if I'd be up for the commitment though ngl...

NSD!

Wolfcub · 19/01/2018 14:52

Nails and face £40 ( it’s really the only time I get alone and the only money I spend on me), lunch with dh £25 (split the bill). Ordered new blind for kitchen and was a little annoyed as the cost suddenly jumped up £40 from the price we were quoted last week. I can get the same blind cheaper on the net but dh and I are both unable to fit it so need a shop that will do fitting. It is much needed and is replacing an 11 year old broken blind on a big window that is right on the street.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/01/2018 15:03

NSD.

Drove home on fumes & will shop tomorrow.

Wolf Query it, plenty of others would. It could be a mistake.

ememem84 · 19/01/2018 15:38

Not nsd. £250 at the Dentist. Impressions and photos and X-rays done. Next appointment is in 2 weeks and I’ll pay out £3,696. Eek. But cheaper than financing at 6% interest...

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/01/2018 15:59

My mum has messaged to say the hospital have brought dad’s appointment forward to Tuesday so they can start treatment straight away. Which sounded more positive than the previous phone call.

DD2 was a right pain on the school run but not potty training related 😬 She also refused to wear a coat, so I kept on offering it to her so I didn’t look like a neglectful parent. It was freezing.

And my hours at work may have to change again. Just when I thought things were sorted.

Ahhhh! Trying really hard to not call a takeaway tonight.

At the moment a NSD

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/01/2018 16:07

So glad somebody came and assessed your chair meadow . Impressed at how quickly they did it for you too. Hope you feel better now Flowers
