No spend January

Just the essential food with a meal plan for 31 days.

Fuel to a minimum

Withdraw the cash for food, essentials & cards go in the freezer

Anyone care to join me?

I did need more paint so yesterday was a low spend day. Avoided anything else that might tempt me in B&Q!
Went to the supermarket on the way home from school pickup for a few essentials so another low spend today.
Tomorrow and Friday should be NSD.

NSD today AT LAST, completely NS rather than just food etc.
Yesterday I did buy some food but nothing else.

Can't see I need to buy anything online either tonight.

Cancelled a box subscription thing I'd forgotten to cancel before, too, though I have one more to sort out.

I only spent 50p today on water !! Not bad - tomorrow will be harder. I need to spend money on parking . I think we have enough food to last us the 6 days till pay day and making kids eat everything from freezer too !!

Another NSD day for me too. Was supposed to be going out this evening with a friend but she's not well so staying home and eating tomorrow's dinner!

ESOD for me- I put money on the meters, which is pretty unavoidable! But I also paid in a load of small cheques which had built up, so I'm in profit, woot. If I pay my tax online this evening, that should clear the way due tomorrow being a really truly NSD.

Madamfraser I spend over £400 per year on water 💦 there is absolutely no way on earth I’ll buy water in a shop, when the quality is stricter out the tap than in a bottle

And I walk to avoid spending on parking or use a car and 🚲 it’s usually quicker - car transport is to slow

Yes Ivy I really resent spending money on parking ..tomorrow's work involves a lot of kit -- actually I can probably unload my work stuff during the day and walk there and back... that would save me £5

What a lot of NSDs! I’m doing pretty well with only preplanned or essential spends. Slight slip up when I booked the apartment for our trip away in April - thought the payment would be taken in March but clearly can’t read as it’s now on this months credit card bill ShockHowever just the fact that I’m on top of that rather than it being a shock is an improvement. Have also booked cinema tickets for me and DH to go out on Friday but we’ve done really well economising elsewhere. Have also sold a piece of furniture that I’ve been wanting to get rid of.

Day 18 was a NSD....

Have made my shopping list for tomorrow and will withdraw cash to see me through rest of this month, shopping tomorrow & next Friday as don’t need any fuel.

Hmmm just been to check my bank account details and seen a payment to an insurance company but no idea what it's for.
It's not house or car or pet or life as I know when they are, what else could it be?

Another NSD here....just wish it had also been an eat less day. Didn't eat a proper lunch and have eaten everything in sight this afternoon! At least it was food I already had!

ESOD- just the bus fare today.
No travel expected tomorrow, so fingers crossed for a true NSD!
