It sounds perfect Em, it's always fun trying on expensive jewellery. It's a good sales technique too, you never know where you'll end up & you could well be buying rings like that one day.

I keep telling dn what size carat his gf will need for her future engagement ring.

Wreck You are lucky, it's all dross in our local charity shops, it's a posh area too. My hairdresser goes to one in a posh area & gets loads of bargains.

WreckTangled · 08/12/2017 14:18

Our charity shops are really good especially doe the dc.

Em they're lovely I love sparkly rings!

SnugglySnerd · 08/12/2017 14:30

I am trying to persuade dh to call in the supermarket for mulled wine on his way home...

Cagliostro · 08/12/2017 15:30

I'm not a fan of most christmassy flavours really. The occasional mince pie is enough. I just got some cherry chocolate brownies though yum. We walked to the coop and back, first time we have done that (as in straight there and back rather than sitting in cafe/taekwondo for an hour between walks) but I feel fine after really so yay! Got loads of reduced veg. Staying in for the rest of the day though

I was already feeling naked thanks to taking my rings off to go running last night (my fingers swell when I'm running) and forgetting to put them back on, now I feel doubly naked!! beautiful rings em and wreck

SnugglySnerd · 08/12/2017 16:40

Frugal win! Found a jar of mincemeat in the back of a cupboard so just made mince pies. I must have bought it last year but the bb date isn't until 2019!

Bornlazy · 08/12/2017 17:01

Wreck love your cat! Mines likes to lie on the pile of clean washing and get it covered in hair.

Lovely rings, wouldn't dare to post pictures of mine as my hands are like an old washer woman.

First test this weekend to see if I can resist the temptation of the takeaways. I've bought pizza from the pizza counter in Morrisons instead of phoning one in...

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/12/2017 17:20

There's a book called the takeaway secret, it's brilliant. I think mine was about £4 used on Amazon. There easy to do too, some of the curries are a bit involved the first couple of times.

You might be able to download a PDF version for free.

Biscuit is making sure everything's covered in cat fur just like ours used to. I love the lining on the hood.

Soya milk in the slow cooker. It tastes a bit odd. I've got some smart price rice so if it doesn't work out on the third attempt tomorrow I'll give rice milk a whirl.

LonelyOversharer · 08/12/2017 18:25

We had a dominoes for tea. It was completely delicious! We never go there, and I stood transfixed by the guys shaping the bases! I will try it like that next time. Twas £30 but not a scrap was wasted, and we're all full, so that beats macdonalds.

I have rather rashly bought paint for the living room. Dark blue and teal. I didn't show dp the colours. It is my house. It's kind of burgandy and orangy-pink atm and I never liked the colour, and there is a lot of bare plaster. I even wonder if he'll notice if I paint it tonight.

I have one beautiful diamond. It's a heart shape. I adore it, but cannot wear it as it's my old engagement ring! I wear a single platinum band on my right ring finger only. Left hand bare.

ememem84 · 08/12/2017 18:27

fluffy I love the sound of that book

wreck beautiful rings

SnugglySnerd · 08/12/2017 19:05

Well done Born that's a great start!

Bornlazy · 08/12/2017 19:12

Thanks Fluffy I've just ordered that for my kindle. I just really wish that I enjoyed cooking more.

Need to do a massive clear out before Christmas to make room for new stuff. Does anyone sell things on e-bay or is it more hassle than its worth. I have a huge collection of lego that literally must have cost over a thousand pounds, but its all broken up and mixed up. Thinking about it overwhelms me Sad

mammymammyIRL · 08/12/2017 20:05

Happy with this week €200 off one credit card & €180 off another one Smile

LonelyOversharer · 08/12/2017 20:16

bornlazy there are many lego traders on ebay. Just do a quick search, you can buy mixed bricks by weight, colour, brick type, it just depends how much you can be arsed to sort it all out. You can even sell bundles of instructions. Lego always holds value. Just keep postage right. But yes, a faff.

Starting to feel a teeny bit festive. Have cleared the mantle shelf, and de-wormed ds.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/12/2017 20:29

Lovely rings. I've got yellow gold but love white gold too.

£6 on lunch today.

Just cold wind here. Weather warnings on the gantries going home yesterday on the M6 though.

ememem84 · 08/12/2017 21:49

I feel exhausted. The good thing (for now) is that ds seems to be sleeping through. We’ve been putting him down at 9ish every night. Hooray. Bad news is that he wakes up at 5am. Every morning this week.

Dh has come Home and has wound him up so he’s only just gone to sleep. I’m annoyed but am also too tired to be annoyed. I just wanted one evening just to be a grown up again. Just to chill. But nope. Crying baby.

mammymammyIRL · 09/12/2017 07:28

Em that's great that ds is sleeping through, the early rising is more difficult in winter when it's dark outside, they'll be easier in spring time. Hope dh takes over at least one of these weekend mornings so you can catch up on some shut eye.

Db1 paid me his share of present we bought for our parents I put it straight against credit card.

I'm going to wrap presents & tidy my floor robe & sort out dc's room today, it's going to be a pj day I think. We've all still got colds, dh is working a half day.

ememem84 · 09/12/2017 08:27

Dh did the night shift last night. I ignored everything until 8 this morning. He was up at 5, fed ds changed him then popped him back in his bed. He sorted catface out with breakfast. He made me tea. Yay.

Riding today £27 then chill out. Dh is going into town I think. I’m going to try and persuade him to take ds with him.

LonelyOversharer · 09/12/2017 09:09

We are doing glitter baubles today.

It's a good job the house is already messy.

mammymammyIRL · 09/12/2017 09:30

On Monday I'm earning a €40 voucher for an hours group research for Super Valu Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/12/2017 10:01

Oh well done! £40 is awesome.

Bags of Taylor's coffee is on shopmium for £1.50, rrp £4.50. Whole beans are on too so I'm going to nip to sainsburys later. I'm sure I've got a shopmium account for Dh too. 4 bags for £6 is a bargain.

ememem84 · 09/12/2017 10:19

DH is taking ds into town today Christmas shopping. I’m strangely excited at the prospect of having a lot of time away from him today. Don’t get me wrong I love the little munchkin but it’s been a long week.

I will spend my alone time this afternoon catching up on chores but needs must.

I’ve given dh a list of things to get in town. Bodysuits and vests in 3-6 for ds plastic spatula new stick blender (ours has gone minging) and parcel labels.

mammymammyIRL · 09/12/2017 10:53

It is fluffy and because the goal is to improve our local supermarket it will pay off too!
