Have fun laska! Hope the ferry crossing isn't too awful considering the weather

Laska5772 · 07/12/2017 13:08

Thanks Wreck Its usually fine unless its an easterly . I go over to the New Forest.. we are sheltered by the island .. I was awake last night worrying if the ferries would be cancelled to day , though, that would have been a disaster .. we dont fly until early tomorrow but cant get to any London airport in time even on the earliest ferry .. postman still not here .. ( damn) he has half an hour..

mammymammyIRL · 07/12/2017 13:27

Lovely looking at my bank balance this morning, wages in, balance ^ Smile
Must budget it out now - it's a bit quieter at work today so I might get a chance Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2017 13:36

I hope you have a lovely holiday Laska. Florence will be so beautiful & romantic.

lonely I used to do the plate thing Blush

Soya milk failed but I didn't strain it so I was setting myself up there. Will try again tomorrow.

I managed to make Mayo though so that's nice. Because of my sulphite allergy my life just gets better I can only have organic at nearly £2 for a tiny jar. This is 55p for the same sized amount. Dh said it couldn't be made at home. Clearly Mayo wasn't invented by hellmans Hmm

I'll need to go out now for soya milk so that will be £1.15.

Laska5772 · 07/12/2017 14:04

Yay! Met postman just in the drive as I was getting in car.. have 60th birthday dress to wear ! Am on boat. Bit of a hooley nlowing It looks a bit grey and bumpy out there but st least its running. And only 40 min crossing..

Laska5772 · 07/12/2017 14:07

fluff I made mayo for my cookery O level many moons ago! It got me yop marks in the class. ( which my teacher said I didnt deserve as I had never handed in a single homework assignmen for the subject ) i always argued the cookery was about cooking

Laska5772 · 07/12/2017 14:08

Top marks am using bumpy sea as excuse for my crap typing on phoneGrin

ememem84 · 07/12/2017 15:19

£22 Waitrose.

We went to the shop for things for dinner. Jamie’s peanut butter chicken. Mm.

Also stopped at the post office to pick up two skirts I won on eBay. Still haven’t got many chores done. But have managed to convince ds to nap.

And by convince I mean put him in his basket, swaddle him up and tell him he’s going to sleep. As I carried him into our room he beat me with his little fists. He did not want to sleep. I walked out the room. And when I went straight back in he was absolutely sound asleep. #mummyforthewin

mammymammyIRL · 07/12/2017 15:39

Laska Have a fantastic holiday, intrigued now to know what dress looks like!
fluffy well done on the mayo, I have only tried it once and it wasn't a great success, I'm not a huge mayo person so I haven't tried since.

em the strength of those little fists too. Ds managed to bite me inadvertently last night, he was kneeling high on his bed and went down to lying position super fast and scrapped his teeth hard off my hand, he got as much of a fright as I did Shock

Having a lovely social day here. Birthday treat. I am 31 today. #old :o

We had breakfast with DH (Bella Italia breakfast pizza is the best) then he had to go to work so we met friends and tried a new trampolining park thingy, two hours for a fiver! Also my friend showed me how to wear the sling properly and it is soooo much comfier now so I will definitely get my considerable amount of money's worth. It's a pretied wrap sling with rings to adjust but it was still a bit tricky to do the straps etc and friend is an expert baby wearer.

Happy birthday cag! You're soooooooo much older than me 7 months Wink we would have been in the same year at school!

Just about to take dd swimming. 😴 I'm working tomorrow to make up some hours, really wish I wasn't but am finishing before twelve and going straight to lunch with my friend.

LonelyOversharer · 07/12/2017 17:13

Happy Birthday cag glad you're having a great day. And I'm a decade older than you! And wreck.

Went and sat with my mum. Got home and dp has changed the consumer unit (fuse box) ours was properly old and totally not elec test passing due to age I was pleased the lights are still on.

Still haven't spent any money, but have put a couple of things in my amazon basket.

laska have a fabulous time!

Loveabaconsandwich · 07/12/2017 17:28

Fortunately I left work early to get the slow train home. The faster train that leaves later and arrives just before is delayed over an hour. #winning

Happy birthday cag

I realised today that my boss was trying to manage me. Very much in a “let’s put a positive spin on this so you don’t panic and go off sick way.” Confused I got the sentiment, but it did make me feel a bit crap.

Spent £27.50 in DP on jumper and scarf for DM
£4.30 in subway (it was that kind of day)
And £4.70 on parking as it was pouring with rain this morning

Happy holiday laska

mammymammyIRL · 07/12/2017 17:51

I'm almost 35 go away with being old !!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/12/2017 18:03

Happy Birthday Cag Cake Flowers Cake you are so young!

I have felt knackered all day at work, not sure why really as had the day off ystd! Need an early night tonight I think although dd wants to go late night shopping Hmm we will see.

Had a nice tea of salmon with salad.

ememem84 · 07/12/2017 18:13

HAPPY birthday cag 31! Wow! You’re 5 years older than me because I’m only 26 not really I’m 33 but 26 is my story and I’m sticking to it

I’m not on board with baby wearing. I want to be but just don’t feelconfortable with it. We have a baby carrier. I’ve out ds in it but it just doesn’t feel safe. I know he’s in right. I know he is safe. Just niggles at my brain that he’ll leap out.

Will persevere though.

mammymammyIRL · 07/12/2017 19:17

I also had salmon but with acti fry chips and carrots

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/12/2017 19:24

Wreck that's great that you can ask the school nurse yourself. Coming into a situation like this from the outside without understanding the system is very hard. Having a friend on the inside must help a lot.

I just went to a big meeting of my department and heard proper science talks for the first time in years. It was weird and fun.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2017 19:28

Happy Birthday Cag 🎂

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/12/2017 19:34

Happy birthday Cag! I missed that. Smile

WreckTangled · 07/12/2017 19:39

Yes sunny I felt much better for talking to her. Actually I always feel better the next day. She said they often need a year to settle in and she wouldn't be worried. Our school does tend to have the small school mentality and a lot of schools wouldn't be worrying about ds at all but it's nice that they are. Ds actually got a high five from his teacher today for answering a question about a story Xmas Smile I have a link to a really good info/workbook on promoting emotional resilience. It's got stuff from age five right up to the end of school if anyone thinks it would be of any use to them I can pm it. It was put together by the council/camhs/nhs.

LonelyOversharer · 07/12/2017 19:56

em I couldn't carry any of mine, bar simply holding them on my hip constantly I still stand sticking my left hip out; whenever I tried to sling or use the carrier I just felt faffed and oddly panicky. I just learnt to do things one handed as I had a couple of real clingies.

Am having a dust reaction. It was from the stairs. I could feel the dust coming up. Didn't think to take an antihistamine first, doh! It's what I've got them for. I am trying not to panic, but being short of breath is not cool.

Bornlazy · 07/12/2017 19:59

Happy Birthday Cag - feel totally ancient at 45

Fekko · 07/12/2017 20:07
