Another NSD. Delicious dinner using up the Sunday chicken leftovers in a risotto.

Meant to say I had a demo of a budgeting app the other day called Squirrel for work. It works on the envelope method and you can set your bills, savings and spending money which then drips back into your account as required. I liked the fact that you can set up as many savings pots as you liked and could have your spending money put in your account weekly. It looked really good, but the downside is it is £3.99 a month. Think you can have a free 3 month trial.

Thanks need I definitely am happier - I thought it would be only the Caglets home ed made a difference for (and it certainly has made a vast difference for them) but it's definitely changed my life too, with having lots of local mum friends (completely new thing to me) and giving me the chance to start tutoring, it's been pretty awesome. :)

Wildernesstips · 28/02/2017 19:41

Mammy thought you meant two free pancake fillings then (pancakes on the brain)!

Cagliostro · 28/02/2017 19:46

Oooh thanks for the recommendation em - we are hopefully going there soon for a day (I miss her sooo much although she's back for a month at Easter yay!) - going to the Science Centre there as apparently it is great, and I did ask her where she'd like to go for dinner but she didn't know, so I'll suggest there :)

ememem84 · 28/02/2017 19:48

wild me too!! Haha!

mammy I know my parents were raging. And I didn't get a loan. They got a grant for most of it but for the most part had to pay. They refused to pay for the law degree though so I had to work and fund that one myself.

We. Haven't. Had. Any. Pancakes. Yet. Dh is just home from work. And is eating his dinner. Pancakes after. He's promised. He'd better get on it.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2017 20:00

Cag dd has been to the science centre on a couple of school trips. Winchester isn't too far from here. I love the town and the playground at the bottom Grin

Rest assured, em that I'm not sure Gsy do get free dental treatment during pregnancy. I can't see any reference to it anywhere. I'm sure it used to be the case though.

The health care pricing seems to be entirely random. I get that the UK no longer has a reciprocal healthcare agreement so UK residents have to pay for everything, but there seem some strange exemptions.

mammymammyIRL · 28/02/2017 20:06

There was no grant for 3 of the 4 of us going to college, there was for dsis as dm had retired at that stage. Their earnings were considered too high - farmer & teacher.

I had spinach, cheese & Sundried tomato in first pancake xylitol & lemon juice in second, I'm leaving kitchen now Grin

Well done Cag on the reviewing. You definitely sound so much more positive and you make home ed sound really interesting.
Good luck with the job application I'd. You have nothing to lose. But you have lots of experience working in the bike shop.
Welcome bluefluff
Need, just stay. We like you. We are all in different places and all need different support for different things at different times. So stay.
Just got back from minding the DGCs so no pancakes here. Knackered.
Just caught up on thread. Nearly time for a new one.

I HAVE STARTED A NEW THREAD CAN'T LINK ON APP

CremeEggThief · 28/02/2017 20:54

I had 4 pancakes (after my toffee scone)Grin. 1st with cream cheese; 2nd mature cheddar and pesto, probably my favourite; 3rd lemon and demerara sugar; and 4th with chocolate spread. Le yum!

I figured out why we only have them once a year. It took AGES to clean up; I had to really, really scrub the surfaces of all the dried in batter mixture. I went over them 3 or 4 times and I'm still not 100% happy with them. My arms will ache tomorrow, that's for sure.Smile

Thanks for the Mink explanation, Fluffy. I don't think it would be my kind of thing, but I can imagine it being popular with all the bright young things for a clubbing holiday in Ibiza, as an example.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 28/02/2017 21:29

cag we went to that science centre at half term. First thing when it opened was good but by 12 it was busy and my DD got overwhelmed. It'll be quieter when you go though

I went to Southampton uni for about 6 weeks for a post grad course before I quit

I still live down south so interesting hearing you talk about places near me! I also like the pub on the avenue in Southampton em. Had a massive portion of fish there!

Most go back to my application form and stop procrastinating
