That looks lovely, Lilac. Very cosy.

DS was like a different boy when I finally got home tonight. Like the boy I know and love.

lilacclery · 20/09/2016 20:57

Flowers so happy to hear that creme hopefully he is remorseful too

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/09/2016 21:06

Wreck Grin that was pretty much what my dd said!!

Thanks you for that, we are working on the timetables but I am not 'fluent' in them myself, the 6s,7s,8s being particularly ropey!!

Been watching dd at football tonight, she is getting pretty good

Creme thats good to hear, am guessing hormones are probably making his moods go a little skew whiff!!

needastrongone · 20/09/2016 21:09

Told ya Creme!! There's a ton of hormones and emotional stuff going on at his age, it's hard to process. Walking the line between treating them maturely and giving boundaries is very hard. If it helps, my 2 are easier at 17 and 15 than as young teenagers.

Ememem84 · 20/09/2016 21:37

£10 something on 80 sachets of felix from Amazon. Def cheaper doing it this way than from the shop.

Paid the remainder of my current account off my credit card. £33 left in account today.
£700 balance on card.

£105 in my penny sweep account.

Tomorrow I will be £333 richer due to my tax rate reduction. Yay! So will throw that against credit card too.

Yippee!!

AdoraBell · 20/09/2016 21:47

£89 supermarket delivery.

Creme glad DS is back to being pleasant. My two certainly have their moments when hormones have clearly taken over.

Ememem84 · 20/09/2016 21:57

...and £34.50 in my topcashback account.
so just waiting for that to be paid.

Tryingtosaveup · 20/09/2016 22:14

Creme, so glad your DS has returned to normal. When my DD was that age I was offering her free to childless couples. She now has her own DD (my DGD that I take away) and she realises what it's like. I enjoy watching. She's 8 and by the time she is 14 she will have been sold on eBay.
Another NSD. 11th in September, 4 more and I will have hit target of 15. It's hard but bathrooms have to be paid for.

8FencingWire · 20/09/2016 22:26

NSD, I'm very pleased :)

Tryingtosaveup · 20/09/2016 22:42

Just checked my TCB account and I have £28ish. I want to get it transferred to my bank. I pressed payout and it gave me options, so I pressed direct payout. It again gave options....Bacs to bank or PayPal. But these were not lit up so I could not press either of them
I haven't done this before....do I have to wait til I have a certain amount, or do I have to have vouchers? Please help?
Em, what's your penny account mean? Do you just transfer all the odd change in your bank over to this account each night.
Sorry to be a pain everyone, but I am not very good at all this. Still learning. But am learning lots. Thanks

WreckTangled · 20/09/2016 23:34

Trying maybe you need to go into your account settings and add your bank account?

Tryingtosaveup · 20/09/2016 23:46

Thanks Wreck, I'll try that

Cagliostro · 20/09/2016 23:52

I agree there's a really satisfying certainty about maths :) I think that's why I love it, even now I'm not studying it I love doing it anyway.

Em DSD is doing a joint honours social work with youth studies i think is the name of it! Wants to be a social worker. :)

Had a slower but still relatively productive day - sold a couple of books on fb and sorted some other lessons for this week so will get a bit of cash in, and found more stuff to get rid of generally.

Also trying to find out how to cancel DSD's SIM and cinema card as I've forgotten all the login details. I've made contact with both, I think with the sim though I may end up having to cancel the direct debit instead. Confused

Cagliostro · 20/09/2016 23:53

Trying don't be daft you're not a pain :) asking stuff like that is the whole point of the thread! (Well, that and cat photos.)

Cagliostro · 21/09/2016 00:21

I've decided to try and have a no-trips month in January. We are doing the most ridiculous amount this term and as well as saving money I'm thinking the weather will be shit anyway.

Anyone mind if I start the next thread when the time comes? I actually have an idea for a title for once. :o

lilacclery · 21/09/2016 05:43

Cag of course you can start next thread I don't think anyone will argue with that. Just an observation I haven't read you mention not feeling great for a while now, hopefully your pacing is suiting you.

Dhs van broke down yesterday Sad
I know we're paying off debt here but I got approved yesterday for loan for my next car, this means a reduction in tax of €520 and my diesel spending should go down now also for two reasons not working the second job & a smaller engine. I got loan for full price of car but bargained down price by €400, dh is really struggling financially at the moment so I'm going to give him some of that money for his garage bills I know I'll be paying interest on it.

Em that's a brilliant tax refund.

OP posts:
lilacclery · 21/09/2016 05:45

My loan repayment will remain the same each week so car is affordable. I'm going to pay the savings on car tax against my cc debt & once that's clear up my payment to loan to pay it off faster. Aiming for 18 months less than term of loan as its with credit union this will reduce interest paid

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 21/09/2016 06:14

That's good crème about ds
Lilac love the blanket. I think use the money to help dh, yes you might pay interest but long term you are saving with the new car and it might help the stress levels a bit.
Trying, that's the point of the thread in between all the chatting.

Need to get some school polos from sainsburys 25% off sometime this week but nsd planned today

WreckTangled · 21/09/2016 06:39

Lilac definitely help Dh out Smile

Spendy day today. Ds starts his swimming lessons after six months on the waiting list!! Need to pay £8.60 as the first direct debit won't cover this one. Then I'm going to sainsburys as ds and dd need socks and dd needs polo shirts. That is of course if Dh has been paid.

Ememem84 · 21/09/2016 07:05

trying in January I had an empty savings account and decided I'd move all penny amounts into it. I check every day. And move whatever's there.

I think my tcb did that the first time too are you set up and linked PayPal? I didn't want tcb having my ac details so use Paypal instead.

Pay day!! Woohoo!!!!

SnugglySnerd · 21/09/2016 07:28

Morning all! Haven't had time to post for the last couple of days, will catch up in a minute.
Have managed 2NSDs though - yay! DH gets paid today thank goodness so I'm off to the supermarket with a big list. Loving it now it is soup season again. I have dug out my big soup book and I'm trying to do a different one each week. Last week was leek, potato and rocket, this week is going to be parsnip. Am also going to do baked apples for pudding tonight - delish!

Collieballs · 21/09/2016 08:37

Loving the blanket!

We have had an awful few nights. DS is whimpering and crying in his sleep. But it escalates and he ends up waking himself up. Toddlers eh? I think DH and I were going in there every half hour because DS couldn't settle himself.

I am planning to go for a lovely long walk into town today. We need nappies again. Can't believe it. We are going through so many! The new Sainsbury's own brand nappies are leaky and there's less in a pack now too.

I also need to buy bananas again. The bananas from Sainsbury's are lasting approx 3 days before going completely black Angry no idea what's changed but previously bananas would last approx 5 days. I just had to chuck 3 out as we have more homemade cakes than we can eat!

Our new nearest supermarket is Lidl (excited!) and another Sainsbury's. So Sainsburys better not be getting shit.

I also want a new denim pinafore dress. I was waiting until my current dresses were far too big before buying the next size down. I may have accidentally flashed someone yesterday due to wearing clothes too large BlushGrin

From next month our "leftover / fun / piss up the wall" monthly budget is reduced by £100 a month Shock it will be worth it! Better be worth it anyway. Scared!

creme happy to read that your DS has returned back to being lovely. Hormones are evil. Brew

WreckTangled · 21/09/2016 08:51

Snuggly I love soup. The dc do too, maybe I should get a soup cook book as I don't have one.

lilacclery · 21/09/2016 08:58

collie Grin at you flashing somebody! I saw lovely denim dresses in h&m a while back

If you take bananas out of their skins you can freeze them for baking later, I've also frozen them in their skin, they're like liquid almost when they defrost but still good for baking.

I love the bag of avocados at lidl, they're great value, my dc don't like their yogurts/cheese. Has it got a bakery? I can only go to lidl at night when their bakery products are sold out Grin
Sad that fun money will be reduced but [happy] for the improvement in yer quality of life.

Thanks for supporting my decision to be more in debt to help dh out, he's not getting the whole we're in this together scenario at all. I know he borrowed money from his ds to pay tax of his van instead of just asking me if we'd enough in christmas savings ConfusedSad

Met a mother of a young girl with cf yesterday, our dd's were due the same age, she has given up her job to take care of her dd and we were discussing how we can survive on less and how much less pressure is on us now for working less, she will be doing some freelance work and me with cutting out my second job. Priorities change majorly with dc don't they?

How's your ds today creme?

lilacclery · 21/09/2016 09:01

Also love soup, did roasted butternut squash, onion and red pepper this week. I bought leeks so will make leek and potato tonight/tomo night but I'm not a fan so will make a lentil based one at weekend for me.
