Last year cost a bomb in old action figures and books Grin. This year, two scary monsters to stick on the end of pencils. That is a bit of a victory.

roguepixie · 14/06/2013 23:57

Waitrose was in partnership with Ocado and was their delivery service. They then realised that they were sharing their profits with Ocado and so set up their own delivery service.

Ocado offer delivery throught the week, however most of their slots cost, with only a few being £0.00 as long as you spend over £75.00. With Waitrose all their slots are free as long as you spend over £50.00.

Wow, I think I know toooooooo much about those two!!!!!

AdoraBell · 15/06/2013 02:10

Kinky well done on your victoriaGrin

rogue do you not get out muchWink

I Spent £9 Today on gift wrap and salmón plus salad for father's day. OH met us and bought us ice-creamos seems to be okay for him to spend moneyHmm

Tomorrow OH will be spending moré money, he's booked a few days away and is doing his usual pánico that we'll freeze in out beds so DDs need yet moré warm clothes. I'm leaving him to it.

Hope everyone has a nice frugal weekend Smile

Thatsinteresting · 15/06/2013 06:52

Olives were good. Just made up part of 'bits' lunch with cheeses, bread etc. They just cost more than I wanted to spend. Have meal planned for the next 4 weeks. I've bought all the non perishables for the month and fresh stuff for this week and spent under £100 which means either I've done some exceptional planning or-more likely-I've not bought enough and will have to pop in Sainsburys and end up spending £20 on stuff I don't need must be strong

Have a busy weekend of activities and parties planned but everything was paid for last month. We having film and wine tonight as have hardly seen dh this week. Father's day present just need wrapping so although spendy weekend the money is long spent so sort of nsd. May authorise trip for dh to take dcs to cinema on Sunday to see Epic as they've already seen cheapy film.
Have a good weekend everyone.

MamaTo2FabBoys · 15/06/2013 07:24

Had a nsd yesterday so 7/16. Should have another either Sat or Sun and just checked fridge and freezer and cupboards and shouldn't need to do a shop next week except milk and fruit so will be able to save that shopping money for during the school holidays.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2013 08:34

So really Waitrose is the one to go for isn't it if its free delivery.

Our nearest waitrose is 20 miles away.

ArtemisatBrauron · 15/06/2013 10:37

Just booked the move.... £408 for the van and two men, now I am just praying all our stuff fits in the van as they charge a fortune if it goes over. A good incentive to de-clutter!

NSD not going well again: shops for grocery bits and loads of cat food since we've decided to try them with wet food to perk little cat up a bit. That proved to be pricey as little cat is also a faddy menace. My grocery bill is going up again. I did use my nectar points to get £15 of shopping for £2. Still spent £20 with Poundstretcher and Pets at Home. £70 shop booked with Tesco for tomorrow. How the heck am I still spending £100 a week on groceries for basically bugger all????

And have just been accepted onto my very, very expensive course for next September. I am chuffed and guilty in equal measure as it will have to go on a card.

I am the world's worst frugaleer. I will be in debt forever.

I haven't even told you about the holiday yet... I will save that for another post.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2013 11:01

Have you tried butchers classic for cats? It's cereal free, as is Aldi tinned food apart from the rabbit flavour.

Try Aldi, you could fill a trolley to overflowing and get tiddly every night for a £100.

KinkyDorito · 15/06/2013 11:28

Once my pre-paid online shopping runs out, I'm there fluffy!

KinkyDorito · 15/06/2013 11:29

23rd July apparently. I'll get it on the calendar!

Raaraathenoisybaby · 15/06/2013 14:07

NSD so far! I might take dd to a free dance class later and can't see how I can avoid the parking money due to its location but I might not.

Going to wait for a free listing weekend before I eBay much more though a friend advised listing sob they finish weekend evenings is best.

takeaway2 · 15/06/2013 14:26

Just a quick update. Had my hair cut and colored. £111!!!!! Omg. She's my regular person and she does a really
Good job but I guess because the last time I did it it was February maybe..? She had to do lots. Oh well. It's my 40th in a month. Happy birthday to me. Grin

On a separate note, treated myself to a window shop. I seem to have shrunk. I tried on clothes at warehouse and I had to go for a 6. (No not a stealth boast; more like rather peed off that clothes aren't the right size anymore!!). I'm usually an 8 and have trousers that are 8/10...!

SpangleMaker · 15/06/2013 14:29

On target for a NSD.

Artemis - when are you moving? I have planned in for 18th (I think) July. Been quoted £295 for large Luton van and 2 men. Not got any other quotes but it seems reasonable and was a recommendation so think I will just go with them.

roguepixie · 15/06/2013 14:55

Adora, waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on my hands and no, I don't get out much, or perhaps that should be ... get out enough. Smile

Ocado delivery coming tonight: £115 but that includes meat for at least a month. I managed to save a whopping £38.00 because I bought everything 'on offer'.

ArtemisatBrauron · 15/06/2013 16:33

spangle who are you using? I am using Handy Moves. We are moving from Surrey to Hampshire, about 60 miles and have a fair bit of kit!

Moving in early August!

Total NSD! Dd1 too tired after ballet. Dd2 slept 3 hours this afternoon so I grabbed the chance to play exclusively with dd1 and have lunch together. After that we made fairy cakes with stuff out if the cupboard and leftover toppings.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2013 17:43

We got quoted £500 to move house once, because it was the Friday before the bank hol the boss reckoned it should cost more.

We didn't hire them and I hoped they enjoyed a day of earning nothing.

We didn't even have a lot of stuff to move either.

SpangleMaker · 15/06/2013 23:15

Artemis we're in Staffordshire, just moving 6 miles from 2 bed cottage to average sized 3 bed. We're using a local firm, Roman Removals. We don't have a huge amount of furniture as a lot is built in (DH does kitchens etc so we get better value for money that way - at least if we don't move too often) but there is all the contents of said storage and I daren't even think what is in the shed and garage. I've been reading a few threads on the property section where people seem to have been quoted astronomical amounts (£1k+) so I thought £295 was probably pretty good!

I've just been filling my Amazon basket with things for DC new rooms but am being good and walking away to edit tomorrow.

AdoraBell · 16/06/2013 01:10

So, OH reckons he's going to take control of all spending - he has form- which means I will no longer be popping into the vet for dog food Smile
Or when they need dewormimgSmile, or any random treatmentsSmile, or dropping his dry cleaning off, we have pay to up front Smile, getting money out to pay for random things he asks me to doSmile, I'm going to enjoy my extra free timeGrin

I had an NSD, OH bought DDs new fleeces and jackets £370, few bits in the supermarket -where they wanted to Get the jackets, they were Hmm at the price he chose to pay- £50 and lunch because the day didn't work out the way he planned it. Then drinks because we were out much later than planned.

I'm going to watch Blackadder on the iPad this evening with one of my Czec beersGrin

Well done Fluffy with that removal quote, some people just want to take the pee, don't they?

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/06/2013 08:28

I'm sensing tension Adora, and I'm not a sensitive person.

ArtemisatBrauron · 16/06/2013 08:36

er... adora I suggest telling your OH that the 1950's are calling and they want his stinky attitude back.

Artemis Grin Grin Grin

It's hard if you're fighting DH to try and sort out money. I control it all here and DH gets his pocket money, as I do. If we need something in addition, we talk about it. For example, my super-expensive, guilt-inducing course that I nearly turned down, DH is encouraging me to go for it as he knows how good it will be for me. However, he has said if I don't finish it, he will divorce me Grin.

spangle I'm admiring you walking away from the amazon basket. That is will power!

takeaway I could fit two of you in my clothes. Am Envy at lovely new haircut and fitting in smaller things. Sounds like a fab day.

Was going to aim for NSD, but feel obliged to take DH for a cup of tea and a cake at the historical house/park we have a membership at. At least we don't have to pay to get in. Given most of father's day will be him hoovering and cleaning whilst I do second job, I think I should do something nice this morning.

Hope you all have lovely FDs too Smile.

KinkyDorito · 16/06/2013 16:17

Looks like we are going to lose little cat. Vets bill already at £300 as they are going to try and hydrate him and get full bloods tomorrow, but seems that his kidneys have failed. Am gutted. He's only 5. Sad Sad Just praying he doesn't pass away when we're not there. There is a remote chance it could be reversible, but she was really trying not to get our hopes up.

Sad Sad Sad Sad

ArtemisatBrauron · 16/06/2013 16:27

Sad oh, kinky that is horrible. Poor you and family, and poor little cat. Sad
