Another first-timer here. Only a couple of weeks ago my colleague and I were congratulating ourselves on being the only two in the department not to have had it. That was asking for it, I suppose.
Felt a bit weird last week - bit of a wonky tummy on Tues/Weds; cold sore outbreak on Thurs; bit of a scratchy throat and sneezing on Friday but it just felt like hay fever. As NHS staff working with cancer patients we're required to test so I did, and it was negative so I went to work.
Saturday - felt pretty rotten. Filled up with snot, coughing, sneezing, headache, muscle pains. Stayed in, drank lemsip and watched TV and felt ok, assuming it was just a cold.
Persistent cough started on Sunday, temp went up. Did another test - massively positive.
It's only today that I've lost my taste/smell. Got sinus pain and headache, no appetite, and getting breathless easily if I move about too much but otherwise not too awful. I've definitely felt worse with flu and some heavy colds.
It is a weird one though. No two days the same - never knowing what it'll throw at you next!
I had to get an isolation note for work, which effectively means I'm off work all this week. I have to test negative on two consecutive days before I can go back so it's not worth me testing again now until Saturday.
