Because I've just tested positive for the FIFTH time, triple vaccinated! Is there something wrong with my immunity?? I tend to test positive for ages when I get it as well, so there's a chance time 1-2 were actually just one, but that still leaves me with four infections. My sister was really bewildered and said she'd never heard of someone having it so many times and testing positive on lat flow for weeks after. Is there something possibly wrong with me?

I haven’t, as far as I know. Rarely get colds. If I do, I test. 2 negatives since pandemic began.

Stuffynosetime · 12/02/2023 14:17

Twice. I have it now. Tested positive yesterday

covid has really changed, first time, slight cough and sore throat, nothing signficant, this time I am really Ill. It’s like the worst flu, High temp and running a fever, got the shits, nose so blocked it’s unbelievable and pain in my sinuses if I try to blow it, swollen glands, running eyes .

im triple vaccinated and had the flu jab. One thing I would say is it is definitely upper respiratory now. And it doesn’t feel like it’s in my chest.

@LadyChatterlysLover I take it you are in a private school then? If not, they are acting against DfE advice and have no right to ask you to test and are not allowed to provide you with tests. You are well within your rights to politely opt out, particularly if it is causing you unnecessary concern as it seems to be doing. Do take care of yourself 💐

himdy · 12/02/2023 14:50

Not vaccinated, worked through lockdowns in a customer facing role and wasn't even manic about 'protecting' myself, only tested positive 3 weeks ago. Was over in couple days, worst symptom- loss of smell for few days.
I do think it's to do with how good your immune system is. Vaccine destroys it.

SunsetStrip · 12/02/2023 18:06

I don't know anyone who has had it more than once and my dd (17) hasn't had it at all.

Scarecrowrowboat · 12/02/2023 18:09

Never but I've had all the boosters and am O negative.

Scarecrowrowboat · 12/02/2023 18:11

I still have to test weekly for work.

powershowerforanhour · 12/02/2023 18:17

Twice that I know of (+ve tests) but who knows - having primary aged children, if I still tested every time I was a bit snotty or tired and headachey, I'd never be done testing. Also you can have an episode with zero symptoms so I really don't have a clue. .

eatdrinkandbemerry · 12/02/2023 18:19

My partner and I are triple vaccinated and he's had it 3 times me once.
Son is double vaccinated he's had it twice.
Daughter isn't vaccinated she's had it twice.
The third time partner caught it he was quite bad with us chest and headaches but for the rest of us it's been like a mild cold..

cptartapp · 12/02/2023 18:23

Once that I know of, but not sure exactly when because I randomly tested positive for antibodies in June 2020 but was never unwell.
I may have had it since. Who knows?

Hedjwitch · 12/02/2023 18:25

Never had it as far as I know

SquigglePigs · 12/02/2023 18:41

Twice. First time back in January 2021 then October last year. Single vax before the first time, triple vax before the second time. Had my fourth vax yesterday. DH and DD just had it when I did the first time but they dodged it the second time.

tinytemper66 · 12/02/2023 18:47

Knowingly? 1

Ragwort · 12/02/2023 18:50

Never - neither has DH, DS or my elderly DM ... despite being in hospital at the height of Covid and not strictly adhering to the 'stay at home advice'.

Spanielsarepainless · 12/02/2023 19:35

Zero. Never even felt the need to test. DH hasn't had it either, though he had to test when he had a hospital visit.

CharlotteRose90 · 12/02/2023 19:38

I’ve had it 3 times and I only tested because it’s the same exact symptoms every time. Once I lose my sense of smell I know straight away.

Interoperability · 12/02/2023 19:39

I haven't had it yet and nor has DH (to our knowledge)

DS has had it 3 times

BigglyBee · 12/02/2023 19:39

I've never had it, to my knowledge. I can't remember how many vaccines I've had, but certainly every one I've been eligible for. I have four children, so I expected to have caught it from them, but they haven't had it either.

megletthesecond · 12/02/2023 19:43

Once, last month. Four vaccines. Grotty but not too poorly.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 12/02/2023 19:47

None that I know of. Frontline NHS and had 4 jabs.
DH 3 jabs hasn’t had it
DS1 3 jabs hasn’t had it
DS2 2 jabs has had it once.

2crossedout1 · 12/02/2023 19:48

Once, I'm fully vaccinated.

Darhon · 12/02/2023 19:50

Tested positive one in summer 2022. Pretty sure I had it in it in October 2020 - PCR was negative but not sure I swabbed thoroughly. I was triple vaccinated by the 2022 bout, not in 2020. Managed to avoid several of my kids getting it at various times and when my partner did.

Findyourneutralspace · 12/02/2023 19:51

No one in my house has had it, afaik. We never vomit either. We’re a tough little crew.

DoesItMakeYouFeelBetter · 12/02/2023 19:53

Twice, both times caught from working in a school. The first time was Oct 2020 and I was very ill for three months. The second time was July 2022 and I was no where near as ill, but it has resulted in weakness in my hands. I was very careful with open windows, hand sanitizer etc, as much as can be done in a school.

Notsogreatexpectations · 12/02/2023 19:56

Stopped testing months ago so who knows !
