How many times have you had it?

Because I've just tested positive for the FIFTH time, triple vaccinated! Is there something wrong with my immunity?? I tend to test positive for ages when I get it as well, so there's a chance time 1-2 were actually just one, but that still leaves me with four infections. My sister was really bewildered and said she'd never heard of someone having it so many times and testing positive on lat flow for weeks after. Is there something possibly wrong with me?

Never, and neither have the rest of the family.

Wotcha23 · 12/02/2023 12:51

Four. Felt very ill with three of them. I work in a school though so I think that explains it.

Turmerictolly · 12/02/2023 13:13

I think if you work with kids there is a much higher likelihood of you catching any virus. If just happens to be the prevalent one. Maybe try high dose daily Vit C, D and Zinc z

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 12/02/2023 13:19

Never, not vaccinated.

BillyNighysWife · 12/02/2023 13:23

It’s very likely that a lot of people have had it as often as you, but they haven’t tested regularly and don’t know about it.

TattyDevine · 12/02/2023 13:25

You may work in a school with very vulnerable children, but there is no requirement to test, and it might be better for your anxiety if you stop. Your well-being is also important. I don't mean that in an unkind way.

YerAWizardHarry · 12/02/2023 13:25

Just once. DS has had it once and DP never has. I’m quadruple vaxxed now and last had it February 2022. Literally don’t know anyone who has had it recently nor who is actually still testing tbh

Makegoodchoices · 12/02/2023 13:33

I’ve never had it. The rest of the family have - same for several female cousins on the same side, they’re the only ones in their respective families not to have had it at all.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 12/02/2023 13:43

Three times, but I have a very weak immune system and am regularly tested for this.

I know a 14 year old currently in hospital with long Covid, they will have to repeat a year of school.

I do have to test though. True, I could refuse, but it would make me seem like kind of a knob that I would be willing to risk the health of some of the kids I work with. Covid would send a few to intensive care, I'm sure.

Twice. Unvaccinated. Think both were about 9 months apart in 2021 and 2022. Might have had it since but haven't tested. Both times were very mild symptoms, mainly a runny nose.

Fundays12 · 12/02/2023 13:48

Three times the first twice was just a minor cold and the last time a couple of weeks ago I felt awful.

bloodywhitecat · 12/02/2023 13:49

Never as far as I know. Had all the vaccines I have been offered.

Theoldwoman · 12/02/2023 13:50

I’ve had it once.
DH once
DD21 once
DD20 Never

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 12/02/2023 13:51

Never, including my extended families. I don't know any relatives who had it yet. All vaccinated.

Getir · 12/02/2023 13:51

Twice that I know of. I no longer test so no idea if the last cold thing I had was covid or not.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 12/02/2023 13:52

Not had it at all, fully vaccinated and boostered. Haven't had even a cold - I think the last one was 2017.

ToriLynn · 12/02/2023 13:56

Never. DH had it once, but neither me or the kids have had it

CoffeeSonata · 12/02/2023 13:56

Six. Similar job to you. Also queries of two being fairly back to back. Mentioned it to gp who said it isn’t uncommon in certain sectors and they are getting (proven) reports of people with 4/5 infections. Most people are vaccinated and with boosters.

I’m fully vaccinated and boosted . Worked through pandemic front line , didn’t get it until 2022. Didn’t get it until after 2 vaccines and the first booster. Now have caught it six times.

it isn’t just you.

MrsRickAstley · 12/02/2023 13:58

Zero.

Icedcider · 12/02/2023 14:01

None, unvaccinated.

DramaAlpaca · 12/02/2023 14:06

I haven't had it at all, neither has DH or DS who's still at home.

I hadn't had so much as a cold for three years until I caught something over Christmas which lingered for ages, but it wasn't covid.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 12/02/2023 14:06

Never as far as I know and I have worked on the shop floor of a supermarket all the way through. I've had all the offered vaccines and as I'm part of the ons survey I test monthly.

BaconIsEvil · 12/02/2023 14:14

Never, despite being around several people who have (including during the very first week of lockdown in 2020). I've only had the 1st 2 vaccinations as well.

Rebellious23 · 12/02/2023 14:15

Once but I've shielded a lot and worn FFP2 masks
The one time I socialised without a mask, I caught covid
6 vaccines
