I’ve been poorly since Thursday. A cough that isn’t really a cough in that I have the urge to cough (and I do) but the cough feels shallow and it feels like it would hurt to cough harder.

a very very slight runny nose. Overall tiredness and a feeling of ‘I’m coming down with something but fighting it’. Oh and very thirsty plus a permanent mild sore throat.

No temp I’m aware of.

I tested negative today, day 6 after getting the positive. I feel fine, went for a walk yesterday and out again for another frosty walk today.

For me 4 days of nausea, v&d and back pain and stomach cramps / trapped wind then started coughing today and positive test. Will be out of isolation tomorrow anyway though as that's 5 days since the start of symptoms. I had similar symptoms around the same time last year 4/5 days of gastro symptoms before a cough appeared

Has anyone had awful sinus pain with covid? I've never experience anything like it

I'm in Australia, where the variants are many and different from the northern hemisphere ones. I felt I was getting a cold on Sunday (I can go literally years without a cold) so instantly alert. Tested in the evening - negative but very achy. No appetite, slight sore throat and sniffles and slept most of the evening. Tested this morning and positive. Still aching and coughing a bit.

I can function perfectly well, and it's as well as I live alone and there is no-one to walk my dog.

Phoned the GP to see if I can weasel into the anti-viral progamme and waiting for my Telehealth call.

I'm in!

Started some mild cold symptoms on Friday, felt progressively awful on Saturday, aching muscles, chills, sore throat, sneezing, runny nose and headache. Tested positive Sunday. Slept most of the day and have woken feeling much better this morning. I would normally go to work feeling as I do today but can't as I'm a HCP.

I am now at 4 weeks in and while I am slowly getting better I am not back to normal yet. still got cough and tiredness.
good luck all.

I hope you get better soon, Aardvvark, four weeks sounds miserable indeed, but good you're improving.

I'm hoping for the best and feel a bit better on day 3, though I now have Paxilovid mouth, an unpleasant metallic taste, though it doesn't affect the tase of food. Just as well as COVID has killed my appetite.

It's the most vile taste! The only thing that helped was strong flavoured sweets like blackcurrant fisherman's friends and strong tasting drinks

Good tip. Right now mouthwash or hot Vimto does it, but I'll give it a whirl.

I tested positive for the 3rd time on Monday. My first symptom was a croaky voice! That was it. Would never have thought it was covid. Woke up in the night with a temp then crazy insomnia (which I've had with previous bouts). It just 'felt' like covid, so I did a test and the test line appeared pretty much straight away. I now have a blocked nose, body aches and fever (although this is better with paracetamol). Also very tired.

Aardvvark · 25/01/2023 09:51

Isn't it delightful! Never a dull moment as one symptom replaces another.

snowday01 · 25/01/2023 14:57

I lost my smell yesterday - haven't heard of that happening to anyone in ages! Completely gone not a hint of anything

echt · 26/01/2023 20:45

I tested negative yesterday and am symptom-free. I'm relieved, and utterly grateful for the anti-virals. Not being daft I'll be on the qui vive for COVID rebound (more shit I'd never heard of before, and never would have if I hadn't googled Paxlovid).

I rebounded
Negative on day 4
Woke up with a sore throat again
Positive again
Negative on day 18

First timer here. I am greatly relieved that I've had four jabs. Started with a tight chest and feeling tired on Thursday and now I'm snotty and a bit achy. Was fine going for a couple of walks today but the cold air took it out of me.
