I hang my head in shame I was at the point of 'oh it's a cold' tested positive Wednesday due to a sore throat and BANG the bastard has knocked me off my feet , I have never felt so crap in all my life ... how long have others felt like crap?? My symptoms started with sore throat , then a headache from hell , dizzy , then a full on cold , my teeth even hurt, my body aches ...but no temp and no cough .. Tripled jabbed too .. it needs to go I only started my new job two weeks ago...

Hubby on day 4 he is so poorly this evening.. he's vomited , pains in his upper back and bad head ... I've managed to get him in bed but jeeez he looks poorly .. this variant is not a nice one at all ... I have slept most of the day waking to turn the pillow over due to sweat and to pop more pain killers .. I wish everyone a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

@smine1 Gosh hope you feel better soon awful isn’t it. Keep hydrated etc and rest as much as you can.

Day ten now, definitely turned a corner but have to keep blowing my nose and my voice is very croaky, I’m hoping it’s much better to go back to work (NHS)at the weekend.

I also have had the delightful liquid diarrhoea, however I’m not sure if that’s Covid or a side effect of the anti virals.

I'm on the mend now

The new variant was horrible - like proper flu for us and made DC projectile vomit. Definitely not like a cold!

I got anti virals on day 3 as CEV and they worked really quickly, less then a week since it started and its pretty much gone, just the odd coughing fit. Feel blessed that these drugs now available, best wishes to those still struggling.

glad your feeling better, dh, whose immunosuppressed got antivirals and they were really helpful he has cleared the virus really quickly unlike me on day 10 and still testing strong positive🙄

Think it must be day 10 for me, woke up after a good sleep feeling a lot better, but awaiting the ‘crash’ later like I had last night. No Smokey smell yet today which is lovely.

Day 7 .. feeling brighter than I have been and stayed awake all day which is a first since this started .. still getting a strong Pos !! I break out in sweats , and still have a headache .. sore throat gone now .. Not allowed to return to work until neg .. ssp will result in beans on toast for two weeks but at least I'm alive!! Hubby has slept most of the day .. and looks dreadful...

So yeah, I've also turned a corner today. Nose is much clearer, still not completely but I can breathe, and I didn't nap today either! I was actually able to do some things with my toddler today, colouring, throwing the ball against the wall etc. Before I was lying on the sofa while he watched TV😓 still have blocked ears though and the ringing that I have today is so loud, I hope that leaves soon. Feeling quite exhausted now so it'll be an early night for me!

Glad to read we are coming out the other side , and great to know the anti virals are doing the job for those that are at higher risk.

I think my good nights sleep and a few other bits have pushed the bloody thing away finally, no smoky taste or smell today. Most things tasting back to normal nearly, bit puffed and tired but I’m really hoping this is a true end to this now. Yesterday I took zinc and elderberry syrup and then downed echinacea tea in the evening.

How are you feeling now?

I felt ill on Monday at work and struggled with work was coughing. So I said to my colleague will do test when I get home and it was negative. But Tuesday was positive. Very bad cough and throat was hurting. Then now like I got bad cold but on and off fever.
After the cold did you feel better or experiences anything else on day 4 since being positive unless you count Monday from symptoms. Do you think I be better by Tuesday?

And I keep logging on to work, sending a few emails then feeling really tired yet I don’t feel shit enough not to work anymore (no fever, or brain fog, just tired, tired, tired) and supposing everyone at work thinks I’m taking the piss?

Day 6 for me and woke up this morning without the headache - yay! Honestly felt yesterday that I was never going to feel better again. Haven't eaten all week and lost half a stone. Sneezing and coughing less. Still feel very shaky but that might be no more than lack of food.
Horrible virus!

Sorry to those feeling so rotten and hope you feel better soon. I was 2 weeks off sick, back to work after that but with hindsight it was too soon. It's now 6 or so weeks after testing positive and not feeling great - still got a cough, tired, weak, shortness of breath sometimes. Fully jabbed and not had it before.

Goodness, six weeks! Are you improving, just that it’s very slow?
