Sorry everyone is feeling so bad. Can I ask how long it took from sore throat symptoms to testing positive? Both DD2 and I have had terrible sure throats since Friday, but had negative tests yesterday. Keep hoping it's just a cold.

Hey I’ve got covid for the second time now. First time I was ok this time I’m more unwell. Started with sore throat on Monday night and didn’t test positive until Wednesday afternoon - it was faint too. Line much darker on Thursday morning.
Had a lot of dizziness for about 3 days leading up to the sore throat so am guessing it was already in my system 6 days before testing positive which is worrying.

I was never actually sick but I had diarrhoea from hell, from the moment I got it, which lasted a week. And chills. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Me and my husband both came down with it last weekend and it’s been rotten! I’ve had every symptom imaginable. I worked from home Tuesday and Wednesday then had to have the rest of the week off.

I feel almost back to normal today on day 8 but so tired. Having to have regular naps which isn’t like me at all.

One of the worst ongoing symptoms for me though is stomach pain and sickness. Has anyone else had this? It started as wanting to throw up almost every hour, even through the night and having bad stomach pains. It’s a bit better now but I still have no appetite. I am eating but one small meal a day and even then I feel really sick after and stomach hurts. My husband has eaten normally throughout and says he’s starving!

@Lena84 I started with a fever, dry irritating cough, whole body aches and extreme fatigue. My throat feels like someone's sliced it with a razor and I'm very congested and can only breathe through one nostril. Lots and lots of mucous.

Fever broke Thursday late night and since then I've been on and off hot and cold and clammy. Still aching but not as much. Dizziness is atrocious. Genuinely thought I'd pass out at some points. Still very low energy.

Lost my sense of smell and taste today. Voice isn't back and is very hoarse. Throat still hurts and I'm very dizzy.

The same, I thought the test was invalid maybe, because its first time when pozitiv line came up before control line. I have big weight issues as well. May I ask what your symptoms are?

After avoiding it entirely and being double vaxxed and boosted, the son of a bitch has got me.

Started feeling weird Tuesday evening. Wednesday I worked from home but felt awful. Couldn't get out of bed all day yesterday and today. Took a test and the bloody line came up before the control line.

Terrified. I am massively overweight and was just on a very low calorie diet to help fix this Shock

How long did it take you to get negative test?
I am on my 2nd day, however, symptoms started since Sunday. Everyone else negative in the house. I am on my 3rd official covid 🥴

Thank you Kc. It feels a complete lottery tbh! My dp is overweight, older than me (mid 50s) and takes less exercise, was ill for a few days then fine ever since. I am younger, fitter and exercise daily. Youngest dc had it bad like me, the elder just a sniffle...🤷‍♀️

Really sorry to hear how poorly you all have been.
Anyone reading this thread had less severe experiences.? It sounds dreadful.
Started with a sore throat and bit sniffly and my general health not great at the best of times so dread getting more ill and have children to look after .

Get well soon all

@Suffolkcatlady thank you, you too! @Crikeyalmighty yes!! I would say I feel ok-ish now apart from the dizziness. I keep getting out of bed feeling ok, then I'll potter downstairs for something and suddenly feel really dizzy. It's awful! When did it go for you?

Report
Crikeyalmighty · 22/09/2022 17:34

The big thing for me was the incessant dizziness for at least 5 days - I actually kept thinking I would feint with it

Hope you feel better soon. Apparantly some people start to feel better on day 7 so fingers crossed!

@Suffolkcatlady I've had it since Monday and it's also wiped me out. Started with fever and body aches and now I've got this horrible cough. My stomach also feels unsettled (even though nothing has happened in that department!). Today I'm feeling better but feeling exhausted very quickly. I'm in my 30s and slim. God knows where I've caught it from. I'm assuming my kids as they've just gone back to school. It's just horrible isn't it!

I've had it since Sunday and feel horrendous. Completely out of it and more or less just in bed. Horrible congestion - felt like I was drowning in mucus last night. Not as bad today but wiped out with no smell or taste. Managed to avoid it so far - triple vaxxed (last one last December though) but covid is much worse than I thought it would be. Husband is positive but no symptoms - I think I got it when I went to a show last week and probably had a hefty exposure. Not sure. Seems to effect everyone differently. I'm mid 50s, slightly overweight, non smoker and no other health problems (positive rheumatoid factor but nothing diagnosed) but it's knocked me for 6!

Has anyone had major congestion / sinus pain with it? That has been driving me mad now since Sunday. Nothing seems to help.

Not sure if I now have The Cough or caught something else 😖 have done 2 half days back at work, developed cough today and slept again for hours! DS is the same though went back earlier than me. Is this a thing? Not getting the cough til week 3? Eugh, I've had enough of it!

I got Covid beginning of August and I’ve only just really stopped coughing. Still cough from time to time but it’s taken an age to get rid of it

Currently have it after avoiding it for 2.5 yrs.... yup it's a bastard, haven't been this unwell for a very very long time. Would have spells last week of perking up for a few hours then wiped out again. Currently day 10 and finally starting to feel like might be on the mend.

Sorry to hear about the cough and breathlessness, sounds worrying and I'm lucky I seem to have got away with that. Hope you get some rest from it tonight. My taste has been weird, coming and going the whole time. Coffee still tastes rank which I'm pissed off about!!

I had this too. Thank god it only lasted 2 days. I'm 5 weeks post covid and my sinuses are blocked constantly and i have annoying cough but it's the same every winter. I have months of this yet. (In fact it's a permanent thing as I get hay fever followed directly by winter colds which turn into endless coughs and sinus blockage!) Just so much fun!

Day 6 here and I felt like I’d turned the corner earlier but this evening has been blighted by the fun new symptom of explosive diarrhoea. FFS!! I want to go go sleep but can’t because I keep having to run to the loo.

I’ve had the weird chemical taste in my mouth this time around which I didn’t get either of the other times I had it. Also, a weird gnawing hunger feeling most of the time, even when I’ve just eaten a meal. But as soon as I try to eat food I feel nauseous. I am not enjoying this trick.

Interesting to read everyone's experiences here . I am 4 weeks after first symptoms and still having symptoms of tiredness and an annoying cough . It's been very strange as I didn't have it particularly badly - mainly sore throat, cough and tiredness with other symptoms coming and going for odd days. It just seems to be dragging on forever. I was still testing positive on day 18 - a couple of people have said to me that tests can still show positive for a couple of months afterwards but you aren't actually infectious. Don't know how true that is, but I've stopped testing now. I am going on holiday next weekend so really hope to see the back of it by then .

I'm joining in. This is my second round. First was pre-vaccine but I feel terrible.

I'm day 4 and still really pyrexial. My neck really aches and every time I lie down I think I'm going to drown in my own secretions. I spent last night trying desperately to sleep propped up in bed/ in my recliner in the living room (latter was great for my chest but killed my neck).

I am so miserable. I've also got a tonne of work to do and I just can't motivate myself to even log on.
