How long did it take for your lateral flow to turn negative?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone (adults) have recently had COVID? If so, how long did it take for your lateral flow to turn negative?
I work volunteer with a mix of people including vulnerable people so I obviously don't want to go if I am showing positive.
Today I am day 4 and I am testing my so strongly positive.
Do I have hope of being clear soon??
I am really interested to know about recent experiences as I understand recovery may be more prolonged?? is this true.
I am 40 years old and triple vaccinated and this is the first time I've had covid.

I’m on day 13 of testing positive! Triple vax, not my first covid.

LaFeuilleMorte · 12/07/2022 17:04

First covid, triple vaxxed, still positive today on day 10. I am still too ill to work, too. DH is two days behind and is also still positive.

hoping2021 · 12/07/2022 17:04

thanks for your quick reply. Gosh 13 days is very long!

First time with Covid, I only tested twice - one last Monday and it was positive but not overly so, and yesterday and it was negative. Suspect I had it a few days before I really was ill with it though so possibly more than the 7 days. Also triple jabbed

LIZS · 12/07/2022 17:09

Day 13 here

ElspethBoomingHowsen · 12/07/2022 17:12

Triple vaxxed, ECV, first covid, negative on day 7

hoping2021 · 12/07/2022 17:13

Gosh thanks for your replies... they do seem to be on the longer side. I was hoping to see some people have negative tests by day 7? or perhaps that was with the earlier variants.

Dh has just tested negative on day 13! He still had a strong red line on day 9 but day 11 it was quite faint.
He's tripled jabbed and not had it previously. I didn’t catch it off him though we did have windows open all the time, slept in separately rooms and constant hand gelling.

LIZS · 12/07/2022 17:16

Ds was five days until negative but more acutely unwell. Still coughing. Both triple vaxxed.

lindauk5 · 12/07/2022 17:16

I got the start of being ill on the Friday evening, didn't test positive until Sunday, the result was significantly darker than the control line. Thursday still had a strong coloured line, Friday was barely positive you had to squint to see it, Tested negative Saturday. By Monday bar the odd cough and a bit tired if I do too much I'm all back to normal whereas Saturday to Wednesday I was in bed pretty much sleeping the whole time.

I hope anyone who is currently ill recovers quickly.

First time having Covid, triple vaxxed. Negative test on day 12 from onset of symptoms.

hoping2021 · 12/07/2022 18:22

Thanks for your responses... seems most people are way beyond day 7?

Day 7 (today) negative for me. Still don't feel great though.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 12/07/2022 18:30

Day 9 for me - still positive. Triple vaxxed and first Covid. Feeling ok now, just more tired than usual.

XenoBitch · 12/07/2022 19:37

Day 10 for me, but then the test before that was day 5 and was a strong positive.

TreacheryPepper · 12/07/2022 19:39

I'm on day six now. Tested negative both yesterday and today. It wasn't any worse than a heavy cold. Unfortunately we tested positive whilst on holiday, which ruined everything

Karmatime · 13/07/2022 06:18

Day 7 since symptoms started - still positive. I didn’t test positive until 2 days after feeling unwell. Feeling better in that sore throat has gone but still tired and with brain fog. Line is still strong but not the comedy sharpie line I got last week! I’ll leave it a couple of days before I test again.

brown543 · 13/07/2022 06:39

My son didn't test until day 4 and was negative at that point. He also wasn't positive for more than a day or two before we knew, as school insisted on regular testing.

rainbowstardrops · 13/07/2022 06:41

I had it at the beginning of March (triple jabbed) and finally tested negative on day 15!

redhearts · 13/07/2022 06:54

Day 9 today for me. It's still positive but faint.

MsGuna · 13/07/2022 07:07

Tested +VE for first time recently on day 1 of having fever 39.6. Felt better after 36hrs (and only took paracetamol 1g once) but continued to test +ve until day 9.

(first vaccine 02/21, didn’t have the rest for medical reasons).

Yirk · 13/07/2022 07:10

Four vaccinations....tested negative day 111

Yirk · 13/07/2022 07:10

11 🥴

ForcingSmiles · 13/07/2022 07:15

Day 10 for me today, Still positive (strong positive, the line comes up almost instantly and is really clear).

I feel like i'm over the worst of it but I still have a headache and i'm so tired still

First time with Covid, triple vaxxed

Shopgirl1 · 13/07/2022 07:18

Had Covid a few weeks ago - by day 9 my positive was faint, but it was day 11 until it was negative.
