How long did it take for your lateral flow to turn negative?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone (adults) have recently had COVID? If so, how long did it take for your lateral flow to turn negative?
I work volunteer with a mix of people including vulnerable people so I obviously don't want to go if I am showing positive.
Today I am day 4 and I am testing my so strongly positive.
Do I have hope of being clear soon??
I am really interested to know about recent experiences as I understand recovery may be more prolonged?? is this true.
I am 40 years old and triple vaccinated and this is the first time I've had covid.

If you were testing faint positive on day 14 would you risk seeing a vulnerable person? We have this situation in my extended family and arguing going on about whether you can still be infectious after 14 days. I would have thought if you are still testing positive you're still infectious?

How vulnerable? Elderly, no. Last year I didn't go to see MIL and her DH after 20 days because he has leukaemia. Too much weight of responsibility.

11 days but followed by two weeks of utter fatigue.

Gosh! Looks like people are testing positive for longer with this variant... how long are people isolating then? DH is day 4 and testing strong positive. He is isolating completely from the rest of the household and we are symptom free and negative so far 🤞Not sure until when should he isolate- until he completes 5 days or until he tests negative, which potentially could be days from now! He is isolating because DM is staying with us and she is vulnerable (60s, with diabetes + High blood pressure) so don't want to risk him giving it to her. There is a chance we might all test positive soon anyways, but if we can avoid by him isolating, I'd rather do that. Does testing positive say after day 7 or more still means you are contagious?

Day 10 here still strong positive only started feeling better two days ago. Still have a cough and I am exhausted but much better. I have had four vaccines and this is the first time I have had Covid. Going on hols next week luckily for me country of destination has no rules to enter. I am finishing isolating today as according to all the gov info I don’t need to anymore.

sodonewithlife · 15/07/2022 12:49

Day 10 was really faint, but still there. Day 11 was negative. Really expected it to be sooner than that. But I felt terrible up until day 8 anyway. Hope you get your negative soon OP.

MeenzAmRhoi · 16/07/2022 16:19

Dh didn't test negative until day 10 and be had a very strong positive. My test was raging positive yesterday so I'm guessing it'll be the same for me. My 12 week scan is a week on Monday so I'm really hoping I'll be testing negative by next Sunday

Karmatime · 17/07/2022 09:45

Day 11 and just tested negative - didn’t test yesterday but was positive on day 9. Feeling much better but still get very tired and slightly nauseous if I try to do too much. It was my first time with Covid and whilst I wasn’t scarily ill, it was very weird and totally wiped me out.

makingmyway10 · 17/07/2022 14:13

Update, day 12 today and tested negative. Thank goodness as we go on holiday tomorrow. I am still exhausted though and still have a cold and a headache that comes and goes .

livealittlemore · 17/07/2022 17:28

How's everyone counting the days? Day of 1st positive, is it Day 0 or Day-1? NHS website says count from the day after the 1st test. But interested to hear what everyone is doing...

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 17/07/2022 17:30

Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or positive test if no symptoms. I’ve finally tested negative on day 14! Still snotty, though, and with sinuses and a cough. And so, so tired.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 17/07/2022 17:59

I'm desperately longing for a negative test too. I'm very fortunate, as only on day 6, and feeling fine. So, of course I'm extremely grateful. But, I live alone, and don't have a car, and am a mix of self-employed and a zero hours worker. Obviously no sick pay with the zero hours work, and I use a train to get there. I know it's legal and within the guidelines for me to carry on now, and I certainly feel up for it, but I have a very troubled conscience if I do so whilst positive. But I lost several days work last week since testing, and I need to pay my rent. It's all so upsetting 😔

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/07/2022 18:04

Tested negative on day 13. Triple vaxxed. First time with covid.

polkadotpixie · 17/07/2022 18:10

Felt ill last Saturday but tested negative

Tested positive on Sunday and negative again by Friday so 6 days from positive test but 7 from start of symptoms

Mild case...only felt ill for 1 day. Triple vaxxed, 2nd time with COVID
